    Add to low-status flags:
    Bad grammar:
Use I, he, she in the subject of a sentence and me, him, her in the predicate or after a preposition. That rule does not change if the pronoun is one of a series instead of standing alone.
In a list that is part of a compound subject, compound predicate, or compound object, use you first, then references to others (he/him, she/her, they/them, nouns, etc.) second, then references to oneself last. "Me and" is always wrong, for example.
No apostrophe in plurals except for single letters, punctuation symbols, or where omission of the apostrophe would cause obvious confusion. An apostrophe does belong in all possessive nouns, conversely.
Avoid homophone errors: homophones are words that sound alike but are spelled differently. Its/it's is the most common error, but there are others. Proof that this one observation is linked to low status and not mere imperfect education, when it occurs, is the fact that when someone who makes such a mistake is challenged, the response is some variant of "what difference does it make?" Yes it does make a difference to people (including me) who, when reading, decode written words directly instead of internally converting them to spoken words then decoding the spoken words. Denying a functional difference between a word and a homophone for it is denying the right of people to think differently from oneself, which is arrogant.

My son (34) calls me (74) the Grammar Nazi. People say, "Well, language is fluid and you're being elitist." Well, bad grammar (and bad spelling) can obscure your point and hamper communication, as well as marking you as ignorant. You don't need an expensive education to speak and spell correctly. OJ Simpson realized as a teen that his ghetto speech was going to hold him back, so worked hard on it, recording himself and examples to play back to learn--and became an elite sportscaster dabbling in high society. As for spelling, just look at the writings of our forefathers (200 years ago) and try to understand many of the (differently-spelled) words. As for homophones, a school board recently fired an English teacher for using the word in an online post, mistaking it for sexual orientation! Running a school system???

Flaking for sure. Being loud late at night in a multi-family housing. Being too socially inept to return a "hello" in the hallway or elevator. Not bringing a hostess gift to a party (even a bottle of cheap Prosecco will do- its the GESTURE that counts). Talking about money in a way thats in bad taste (bragging about played-out designer clothing labels, bragging about your car payment, bragging about how much the guy down the street sold his house for, strategically placing your LV bag that a sugar daddy paid for in the picture of your dinner at Olive Garden).

I don’t love the idea of high and low class as someone could have low education but a lot of great qualities or be financially middle class but excellent at the thing they love . A really great school teacher for example. But one quality that immediately lowers status is the way we treat people who serve us. Being rude to waiters, not tipping at hotels or speaking to your cleaning lady like dirt are all indications that you are socially insecure and vulgar

However, the deplorable lack in grasping the English language in America (by those educated here, not talking about ESL speakers, they are learning and taking on multiple languages, kudos to them). I create songs out of background music if I have to be in the same area. Making a game of it could increase your ability to endure in certain situations. @@Agentxile I understand that certain professions or situations may require you to have to handle some background noises. However, I believe, that the main point of discussion here is "unnecessary" noise. Therefore, deciding to be in the army, work in construction, be a stage security guard at a festival, etc., is a choice made by the individual to put themselves in this situation. On the other end, living in an apartment building filled with families with young children, when you're a single individual that has activities that require quiet time, knowing that you ARE able to move out to another, better suited apartment, is what, I believe, @alux wanted to illustrate.

The last one may not necessarily be true. For example Albert Einstein used to do physics in his apartment in Germany while rocking the cradle of crying baby with one hand and sound pf pressure cooker going off in kitchen and other distractions.. his superior brain was so concentrated on the problem he was trying to solve that, other things just ssemed to disappear from him in background.

Most people are NOT Einstein, so, yes, "being satisfied with unnecessary discomfort" rings true for MOST (not all) people. Giving an anectdotal example based on a famous person's life doesn't negate the statement because it was made in general; and generally this is true.

I label malignant narcissistic people and people who have psychopathic/sociopathic behavior as the lowest of all, as it is not okay to steal, lie, manipulate, cheat, stalk, hurt, and threaten others to achieve what they deem as a higher status for their ego. If you have ever been a victim of one of these predators, you know what I’m talking about. Kind, good hearted people who are unaware of these types can easily fall prey. I feel that anyone who can arise from the ashes after the devastation one of those types causes, deserves a special type of status.

Unfortunately, some people don’t realize that they are exhibiting disrespectful or “low status” behaviors and accuse you, if your behavior is not in conformity with theirs, for being “weird” and for “making them feel uncomfortable.” 😂 An example is using swearing words during business meetings. At first I thought they were upset at whatever projects or progress discussed during the meeting, but it didn’t take me long to realize swearing is in their daily vocabulary 😂 Many people think it’ cool or nothing harmful to swear in situations where swearing was actually not justified, what they don’t realize is that: inappropriate cursing words in inappropriate setting shoes vulgarness and their lack of vocabulary and education 😂
