This was so uncomfortable to watch. I was and still is. I decided at my late 20's I did not want to be a loser anymore! I went back to school and with severe ADHD the odds were stacked against me. I didn't care. I got A's and Bs 😀. I still was a loser but wanted to finish a degree. I took shitty jobs and got abused at work. I read self help books that were critical and took the shame in pride. By my 30s I finally got a degree and then got an average wage. I moved out and then worked 50 to 70 hours a week for a few years. Now in my 40's I make 90K. I am about to get a home but still I had a late start. I wish I was raised better but at least I got out

Just a reminder: living with your parents is not a universally “low value” quality. Some cultures, specifically those which retirement investments and retirement homes are not commonplace, living with your parents show responsibilty. It’s a mark that you don’t just leave the people who took care of you when they are old and incapable of taking care of themselves.

That’s a good point! Not everyone is American lmao. And the trend of parents gleefully kicking out their kids the moment they turn 18 is weird. You should have kids to love them and give them a good life, not just because you wanted a cute baby for one year. Your child is your child for LIFE not just 18 years.

A couple more signs of low value men:
    1. Constantly judging other people.
    2. Being offended by everything.
I grew up with a father who did a lot of these two things, and unfortunately some of it rubbed off on me, and I've had to work to eliminate these behaviors.

Good stuff. A similar story for me too. Add to the list "constant complaining". I grew up with extremely negative and toxic influences around me so it's been an effort to make sure I don't follow in those footsteps. Because sometimes I would find myself acting like that, but thankfully managed to recognize it in myself and not like it enough to want to change. 👍

Signs of a low value man (my list):
    1. They can’t handle adversity (most of the time).
    2. They lack discipline.
    3. They usually act in panic, stress, fear and bug out.
    4. They say negative things about people.
    5. They have poor work ethic.
    6. They dwell on the past
    7. They’re people pleasers.
    8. They lack purpose in life.
    9. They don’t take care of themselves. physically and mentally
    10. They don’t think for themselves hence have herd mentality.
    11. They make bad choices and don’t learn from them.
    11. They want to do as little as possible
    12. They’re argumentative and rude
    13. They lack morality and are antisocial
    14. They venerate people with high status but they degrade people of lower status
    15. They are dishonest and lie a lot.
Most of these use to apply to me however I’ve developed myself personally as I grew older. I still struggle with 9,6,5 and 3 sometimes, but I’m getting better.

@@ng9047 I completely agree with your harsh remarks. But not to blame, media has not helped recent generations. There's a new "men can be weak and emotional too" mentality.
I understand this was meant to promote emotional intelligence for men which was a taboo for years but a part of society took it the wrong way. Thus allowing and normalizing men to have a "victim" mentality.
Which is never good, whether it's unfair for men or not, you guys are the strong/brave polarity of humanity, the world would collapse if all men lost their manliness.

Great list sir. I can honestly say I've only been accused of trait number 6. And that accusation hasn't just come from other people. It's a self-realization I've come to as I acknowledge that I beat myself up so much over past mistakes.
Regardless of the fact that I may have people compliment me over being the opposite of many of the other deficiencies you enumerated. I can only do so much if I can't get out of my own way due to number 6.
Thanks for reminding me of where I need to have my focus. Hope you find all the answers to questions you seek and all the success from your valiant efforts.

My work ethic has also been influenced by this unfortunately, which I defo need to work on.

@Kevin Crowe. Regarding depression, a friend got out of a huge depressive slump by writing down a list of five things he was going to do the next day. Relatively simple things: bring the garbage cans out early for pick up, shave first thing in the morning, etc. Over time the five things became more sophisticated. He kept the daily lists to show that he had made progress. It worked.

But once I started setting very small, sometimes seemingly absurd goals such as read for 5 mins each morning, I really started seeing progress. I think my brain gets fueled by seeing small successes, and just wants to get more of that. Then the successes accumulate!

I’m morbidly obese, no friends at all. I have my dog, however. I’ve tried for several years to get a different, better paying job but to no avail. Also in terrible debt with student loans, credit cards, etc. I have severe depression and anxiety for which I take six different medications. While I don’t blame others for my problems, I do blame myself and low intelligence for most things gone awry. I do feel like I’m angry in general most of the time, mostly at myself. I have zero motivation now after countless failures and severe depression. I don’t ever really see myself digging out of this one. I only dig myself deeper. Not sure if anyone else is in this type of situation.

Be cool dude, it's mostly Title IV and then Affermative Action being inacted five years later. Title IV should have been amended to reflect this, but no. Then because of the supply of workers diluting the labor market, wages came down. Unemployment hit 9.6, stayed high till mid 90's. So don't blame yourself. It isn't you. I went through these hard impossible times also. Luck only did I get past it. But then Entitlement got me. I now have a "why even try" thought pattern. Especially with that VAWA bs hanging over our heads. I've learned those laws, they are unconstitutional, but in place. This chick who says these things is clueless, but she gets to live in the fairyland given to her.

From the day I started school, to now, I was either bullied or ignored. I've tried to reach out to people, but they're too busy with their own lives to care or have time for me. It is it any wonder I have no motivation and choose to escape reality when reality treats me like garbage?

I was bullied too from an early age, first and second grade/prep school. I always tried to get attention and received it but I was trying too hard and it was a waste of time. I wanted everyone to like me and was deeply affected by being mistreated and others knew this so I received what I received. As a child I struggled with normal anxiety and maybe a touch of ADHD symptoms. I didn't have a long lasting friends until high school and college. I only have had one best friend that I talk to several times a week, including today but I haven't seen him in several years due to distance. I never tried to escape reality though. I stay disciplined in my work and my hobbies and take fitness seriously. Now there's still bad vibes that come your way though even your hobbies and social environments at any age. Many test or try to treat me like garbage...especially in recent years with basketball and peers from the game that I play and coach. There's not One Life-Long friend I'd ever gain from the sport. I do coach basketball and I'm coaching at the prep school I attended in elementary school (3rd year) and we won the district championship this past season in March.
I have probably had my best confidence moments in life though in my higher paying jobs I have had since earning my college degree at age 23 (Operations manager retail stores and later in 2015 --> in supply chain management)..First I was a store manager at Abercrombie and Fitch for 4 years and did some city recruiting as well as being involved in all store operations. From 2005-2012. I really had left my mark as a high value personality with good social skill and I always treated everyone with respect and simply just cared. I was a master of praise and encouragement and was well liked...I'm an emotional person and its a characteristic that could be good and bad.... I never try to hurt people but and always treat people the way I want to be treated. Others can take me down though as they know certain things will affect me..some many think I'm weak. With this I know I'm not weak but others will think this once they get to know you and your personality. Fast forward to now I'm a licensed behavior consultant in my local area..I served the local schools families and communities. Not sure that this comment will help you but I can relate to how you are feeling so I'm posting this here. This video reduces a complex issue to a winners-losers dichotomy. "Man up" and those kind of things. That's toxic. I was bullied in school too and that left a mark on me, I've struggled all my life to value myself and it is something that requires constant effort and a lot of wisdom but it is possible. If you value yourself by the perception of others you'll end crazy (you, me and anyone). The video is right about the need of effort and a plan to get out of vicious circles, but it expresses that in a bad way. Any man can be a winner one day and get fired the next day, and biceversa. Or have a marvelous girlfriend and be dumped for no good reason. Everyone goes through bad times in their lives, but we can focus in the things that are under our control and start from there.

I would clarify that you shouldn't engage in self-improvement for results, to get women, or impress people. People don't care. You're unlikely to improve so much that you stand out, probably just become normal. I made a big push to change at 27, got a master's degree, excelled in my career, got in the best shape of my life, saved and invested my money, learned an incredible amount by reading and studying. I'm better for it and I feel like I can live with myself now knowing I'm not a complete waste of space. But did it make my life easy, do I have women lining up to date me, does anyone really care or notice that much? No. It can't be about that. I know I'm in a better place today and I don't have regrets. I know I didn't waste my time. And I'm in a position for life to keep getting better. That's all it is. Not super exciting, but so much better than the alternative.

I was writing about my family and why I haven't gone down the negative road some of them have and honestly why I've cut off so many of them---it's because they are Low Value and mired in it, their pain, anger, envy, etc.. I'm grateful that my mother and father pushed themselves and therefore the needle enough for me to look at my parent's strengths and weaknesses and focus of development of the strengths of my own and avoidance of their weaknesses. I told them before they died that their lives and deaths were both Mentorship and Anti-Mentorship---what not to become.

I am 42 years old, overweight, and I have worked at the same dead end job since I was 19. I am extremely angry with myself for waiting this long to start moving forward in life, but I try to channel that anger as motivation instead of beating myself up over lost time.

That is true if the mother has not used "their" kids as pawns, and only thinks of those children as belonging to herself. Most fathers want to raise their kids, and will, given the opportunity. Only a foolish low value woman makes this difficult, disrespects the children's father, acts like a child herself, and screams "deadbeat Dad" when he cannot put up with her bs anymore and walks away. He leaves because he does not want his sons or daughters to think their mothers actions are normal and to take on those roles in their future relationships as well. No father wants his son (taught by the example his mother exhibits) to be ruled by a manipulative witch when he decides to have a relationship with a young woman in the future. Most of the men that are absent have been run off by the mother feminist idea that 'they don't need no man". In fact, a child needs a mother and a father, which feminism has made huge progress in destroying. Most of the sitcoms portray the father as an idiot, and the mother as superior. If the tables were turned, it would be called discrimination. Wake up ladies, a lot of deadbeat men are raised by single mothers, and you chose to sleep with that man knowing full well that he was not father material, all the while passing up offers from decent men who are not bad boys because they were too nice or boring. You have the drama you wished for now, embrace it and quit blaming your poor choices on the man.

The ultimate signs of a low-value man
    1. Lets others define "success" for him.
    2. Can't be happy by himself.
    3. Wants attention and glory.
    4. Swallows others definitions of "acceptable person" instead of defining it for himself.
    5. Has no philosophical depth, and therefore confuses truth and ethics in terms of what the majority thinks.
    6. Sees other, non-photogenic but positive traits, as a consolation prize for losers; or at best a boring but admirable trait for winners.
    7. Worships imagery over content, lacks the emotional self-discipline to see beyond flash and excitement to discover truth.
    8. Assumes sexual success is the ultimate measure of a males worth, and thus also is #6.
