Beautifully painted Elite miniatures French, I completely agree with your basing at 15mm frontage per figure and I do like the deeper bases. Nice Prussian as well. Cheers, an enjoyable vid, thank you.
Thank you, Ken. I took your advice from your Franco Prussian War painting tutorial and ordered and used both the Minature Paints Navy Blue and the Vallejo Silver Grey for the cross belts, both worked out great. I used the Navy blue with Citadel Night Lords Blue for my French light infantry. Your Young Guard look fantastic, Peter's Elite Miniatures are the business, I wholeheartedly agree.
Nothing wrong with starting a new army at our age- I’m making more real progress on larger armies than ever these days. It just took me a while to figure out how to streamline my process and eliminate unnecessary work. And I like the look of a slightly oversized flag myself. There was an early Wargames Illustrated photo spread with big flags with an editor’s note that explained (satirically) that flags used to be huge so foot knights wore full armor to keep from blowing over. When gunpowder weapons started shooting ventilation holes in flags the armor became less important and passed out of style.
Good to see Victrix get the win. Assembling them makes me want to jump off a bridge, man but I hate it, but if trying to play big games, particularly in ancients and medieval for a sane $ outlay, they can't be beat.
Great work Ken... That's how I base my figures in the Gilder style !they look so much better than the more modern style of basing !
@raycarpenter6466 they definitely do mate 👍

@@oldschoolfrp2326 I remember that big flag comment, still makes me smile
Great update. Lovely to see your Young Guard finished nicely. Not a Napoleonic gamer myself but the extended bases make a lot of sense.

The back packs looked great. How did you achieve that look? I’d like to achieve that brown leather effect. Thanx from Australia
Flat earth base, dry brush 50 50 Vallejo Flat Earth and Desert Yellow, wash of strong tone 👍

@AndrewSmith-fd3fi Dixon is 62, my mistake, corrected on the actual podcast
