Both my parents were Mainers... I remember my father telling me that lake front property was going for $1'000 or so for an acre plot in the 1950s .. A couple of my uncles had cabins in the central Maine lake country... they lived around Lincoln... I visited many times as a child... wonderful country :)
I’m saving my cash Rick ,and in about a year I will be looking for a small house with about 10-20 acres in Maine ,this will be for one of my daughters ,she loves the woods and off grid so to speak ,but I wouldn’t want to see her to far out in the woods ,Maine is a gem ,right now she is I; Minnesota so cold wouldn’t be an issue ,she knows how to rough it ,I’m so glad I found your channel
This really has the potential for being a little treasure in my opinion. Given the acreage I’d consider building a new property, possibly an Amish log cabin with year round facilities as either a main residence or something special for rental. It could do with some clearing of the deadwood with more focus on the views and perhaps planting an orchard. This really has potential to be something very special. I’d like to view this if it’s still available and similar properties with potential. Thank you 😊
I have pretty decent coverage there with my phone. Closest little store is in Springfield where you can buy gas, eggs, bread, a sandwich etc. It is about 5-6 miles to that little store.
For the price that property is good just on land value. The house would have to be torn down and have a new structure built though IMO, it doesn’t look very structurally safe. Great spot to build a house with a walkout basement
you can burn coal in any wood stove by putting a couple inches of fireplace mortar in the bottom of the stove-... I did that with my iron patio potero .... or even by shoveling in a few inches of dirt !!!
House needs New kitchen, Bathroom, New Oil Furnace, New Insulation, New Flooring, Outside it needs New Siding both House and Barn, New Roof on Barn, New Windows in House and Barn, completely New Deck, and that's just for starters Bro, Needs a lot of Work and Deep pockets, great piece of property though.
Lot's of comments here? I personally when ever am buying anything ( especially from a professional person) weather it's a fishing pole or a CAMP or a used car,, tire,, table and chairs ect,,, Always ask WOULD YOU PAY THIS MUCH FOR IT!!!
Township means in the boonies. Hideouts for gangsters. Do not be surprised to find neighbors with wood chippers used to dispose of bodies like in the movie Fargo.
Lincoln, ME would be your closest real shopping and hospital. It is about 28 miles to Lincoln. There is a small grocery store/gas station about 6 miles away as well.
@@richardtheriault7624 I lived in NH during the Mother days floods and I saw creeks swell into raging rivers ... so I do not want to live near water creeks, rivers nope not worth the stress
@@neoanderson726 I would surmise you ought to look at the topography in the area. It is flat, not steep mountain ravines like are common in much of NH. Very low risk here for flooding as the water has a lot of land to spread out on. The home is in very little danger from flooding. I have lived here for going on 6 decades. I remember flooding along the rivers when I was a kid due to ice dams. That still happens seasonally in certain areas, under certain conditions.

Plenty of room to do that if a person wanted to.

Thanks for watching.

We’re you alone? Because if you were what is moving inside the window at 6:27?
The seller and my wife were milling around some. May have been one of them. Couldn't tell for sure.

Hello! Mr Rick. How much more or less would the repair cost be to put this house into operation? Thank you
Curious myself
how much wet land is there Ricky
A fair amount. 5-6 acres is high and dry. The balance would be wetland.

The upstairs could be a mother in law apartment, if you wanted to get rid of her you could let her use the deck.
It worked until it didn’t 🤦♂️

flood zone
The home is in no danger from a flood. The grassland along the stream may get wet.
