I have never found a product to take that off! That's awesome thanks for sharing. I sent my dad this video so he can clean the baked on black on the side panel of his fusion.
I’ve been a subscriber for years I always enjoy your content I’m glad to hear that you are feeling better! Both sleds look amazing! Makes me want to rescue an old MXZ.
Looks great, Dave. That's about all I can do since we barely have any snow and our windchills have been close to -40⁰F here in Upper Michigan. Haven't been out riding once.
@MyOldSled I also find your little jokes amusing as well. Corrosive symbol means it can be used by skinny people and skeletons. I used my wife's tooth brush to clean this part haha. Good stuff.
Spray Nine is my go to, Works really well to get the carbon off. I had a wicked amount of carbon build near the exhaust after break in mode, all I did was spray it on and hose it off, nothing else was really working.
Castrol Super Clean #1 for sled stuff. I wet the area first - even bare aluminum & immediately start scrubbing with a soft car wash brush & rinse fairly quickly. It will etch a bare aluminum tunnel but you have to spray it & walk away for 10-20 mins before any issues. Great for brake dust as well. Use on BBQ, mowers, snowblowers, etc. Buy it by the gallon. Hard on bare hands if you don’t rinse fairly quickly.
@@MyOldSled Yep! Running and ready for snow. Tonight is the first snowfall we've gotten this year. I'm hoping next weekend or the weekend after to get out and ride. Unfortunately riding for me is a few hour drive.
@ oh, good to know. I ended up pulling the crank out and the bearing from my rod to crank is gone. It shredded itself. I actually bought another engine off Facebook marketplace. It’s installed and running. I’m now going to rebuild the 800 that was originally on my sled as a backup to keep on hand.
@ i have that xps stuff like you said nice for a polish finish but i ride a 13 xf800 cat and my plastics have some gunk and marks i want to get off and this a great option .
Hi duk…I tested brake cleaner and it didn’t budge this stuff. Also, brake cleaner should not be used near materials like rubber or Vinyl so I tend to use it for metal parts only.
Hi William. Well, the Super Clean worked so well there's nothing left to try it on :) I did try it on the 670 belly pan at one time, and it did take some of it off, but I was shocked how easily this stuff worked. Thanks for the suggestion though, someone else mentioned it as well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That super clean is amazing stuff! I clean my lawnmower with it. Just spray it on, and hose it off, looks like new. No scrubbing! I'm not sure what the active ingredient is, it's a bit strong, smells like ammonia. I'm glad to see that you are wearing gloves. Let us know how it does whitening your wife's teeth 😂
would have like a comparison to simple green because its my understanding they are pretty similar. at least they clean just about, sorry... aboot, as well as each other.
Simple Green is a milder, more versatile cleaner which is safer on a wider range of materials, but from everything I’ve read no where near as effective. There are tons of products I could test, but as you can see, spray on, wipe off. I did t see a need to try anything else.

Same here. I tried all the main ones and nothing dented it. Hope it works for your dad.

Thanks for sticking around!
It's always good to hear someone experiences when it comes to cleaning hard to clean surfaces. Thanks Dave and I'll definitely pick up a bottle.
Yeah when I tried it, I couldn’t believe how easily it did the job.

I use that stuff all the time! I buy it by the gallon. Great tip for everyone and good video!
Hi Ryan. Thanks for watching and for taking the time out to comment.

I rarely take things too seriously
Can’t believe how well this stuff cleaned carbon and oil that has been baked on to my side panel for years.
Spray Nine is my go to, Works really well to get the carbon off. I had a wicked amount of carbon build near the exhaust after break in mode, all I did was spray it on and hose it off, nothing else was really working.
Thanks for sharing. I'll have to try that one too.
Castrol Super Clean is my "Go To" secret weapon for tough stains for years.
I'll have to give that a try, but this stuff works amazing. I'm going to need a bigger cleaning product shelf.
Yup. Saw that a channel Nutter’s speed shop used this to clean old sled engines and chassis so grabbed a bottle and like you found it worked great.
Thanks for watching and letting me know it worked for you too.

Thanks for watch8ng and commenting Mattie.
Great to know. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching. Did you get your sled running yet?

I was watching your videos. I was going to comment you can buy a kit for piston you don’t need a whole crank.

@@SmackeysGarage 420684653 Rod repair kit…hard to find…you probably went the right route
thanks for todays video getting some super clean today
Glad you liked it. Just be careful on other surfaces like soft vinyls etc, but I haven't had any issues at all.

Great videos, l have 3 silmalar sleds. Waiting for snow in upstate NY and maybe my sleds will get dirty again
Thanks Greg… for watching and taking the time to comment
Your wife is gonna love the taste of her next brushing 😂😂😂😂
We should save on whitener…
Hey Dave i’am going to get that stuff do you know where you got that stuff by chances .
No but Canadian tire, Walmart, princess auto. I listed at the end a bunch of places
Brake cleaner works good but I am going to try your stuff
Hi duk…I tested brake cleaner and it didn’t budge this stuff. Also, brake cleaner should not be used near materials like rubber or Vinyl so I tend to use it for metal parts only.
@ 3:19 hahaha. That was golden
Good day eh?
You're wife may want to check in on your videos for her benefit lol. Any chance on a vid on cleaning rave valves on the MX Z? 👍
Definitely on the list.
Stihl Varioclean is a good option for cleaning, I would say it is pretty comparable to the Super Clean.
Hi Wade. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated. I'll keep an eye out for it.
Try Spray Nine

I think it’s the same stuff as in Aliens that eats through the deck.
@MyOldSled 🤔 You might be on to something. I almost want to hoard it before it gets taken off the market lol.
