At first I thought Issac died at the end, which I thought he got killed by Nicole herself, who transformed into one of those filthy creatures and was also in the exact same ship where she killed herself. Until I later read it was only a vision brought from the marker, which relived me, cause honestly after going through all that mess, Issac deserved a tomorrow.
You can tell just how much of a great job the developers did with Isaac's character, even though he never speaks in the game. Just look at his body language when the Hive Mind reveals itself. Masterful stuff.
i imagine well Isaac exactly saying that if he talked in DS1, and then he say "but it's also the case of Nicole... damn , how i would..." then a voice say in his left side "Isaac" , he turn in the side while saying "huh?!" then JUMPSCARE

Isaac was probably hallucinating the whole thing, including the door being locked, although I think it was Jacob Temple, who Isaac was just behind all game and he hallucinated Jacob as Nicole
When I first play this game, there was alot of foreshadowing in the story itself, alot of people suspected that Kendra would be the villain when they think about it, if she knows alot about the dangerous lifeforms regarding the necromorphs and certain layouts within the ishimura which alot of people might suspect that she had a hidden agenda, given the fact that she was complaining erratically in the worst moments and when talking through Isaac through the mic she seems to be calm all about it randomly, and now when protecting Nicole from the necromorphs while she was working on the panels, when necromorphs do attack her, even in the hardest difficulty, not much damage has been done and many players ask themselves, is she made of iron or was she dead the entire time.
This is without a fraction of a doubt one of the best games ever made. Took inspiration from Resident Evil and Metroid, and packaged it together in a polished game with an unreal story. The sequels were alright, but this first game, Dead Space, blew my mind 10 years ago and still does today.
The reason this game is amazing is because it's very closterphobic and the small details like background white noise and metal being pushed around adds atmosphere to the whole experience.
What do you mean they didnt? Isaac does have an animation of reacting to the realization, it was just a bit different. Even the same soundtrack piece plays.
I was 17 and when I got the game, played until the first part where you have to run to the elevator. It scarred me for a week, came back. After first chapter, I enjoyed the game and forgot how scary it was.
I hate to admit it till this day but right when we got introduced to that regnerator fucker, i literally turned off my console half way through that chapter. Didnt save, didnt properly close the game and went to the dashboard to turn off my console, just paused it and pressed the power button lmao.
@@ironictec9511 okay so 2 weeks ago me didn’t know that until just recently so yeah, also in the remake they said Nicole’s real fate will be shown so maybe? Necrocole
I really don't get why the Marker wanted Isaac to stop Kendra from going to Earth with the use of the Nicole hallucination. On Earth, it could've killed and transformed everyone into Necromorphs and created a new Brethren Moon.
That specific marker is sentient. Unlike other Markers, that type of marker is dangerous and wants people to "stay away" from it, where as the other markers sentient minds trick the minds of people to be taken to a planet of a place of life.
Dylan Paez I don't see a difference between Marker 3A and the two other markers that were made by SCAF. Also in Aftermatch, a shard of this Marker caused a massive outbreak on a ship which name I don't remember, and it intentionally caused Stross to open a containment seal in order to let a Necromorph free. The only rational explanation for the Marker 3A to return back to Aegis VII was because it wanted to start a Convergence Event and a new Moon, but because creating a moon requires its creator to be absorbed... well I really I don't know.
_MaZ_ nore of a sentient marker with a different intention. It's will to be placed back at the spot suggested that the hive mind itself is the maker and it needs to be pacified. But before that we don't know for sure because Issac servered the link inside his mind to avoid being "whole" aand esacpe the station. Another interesting theory is that Marker 3A is a direct opposite marker which had plans to contain the outbreak and no one else can be harmed which fits the 200 years hibernating instead of being a new Bretheren Moon already
stuff4ever Still is everytime i play it scares me even more cause i watch how awesome this game was and that there will be no other like this one so...reality is scary...
3:29 Is cute when Nicole asked Issac if he was really him... THAT’S WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO ASKED HER FROM THE BEGINNING! Since she was dead the whole time.
Hey, man, thanks alot for the video. This is exactly what I wanted to see. The entire chapter without the action. Don't know why nobody does it like you do. Thanks alot, again.
Yep finally EA understood there is no point in remakes unlike capcom.I hope capcom quickly announces re 9 trailer I am tired of seeing remakes.Recently I heard until dawn is getting a remake but I prefer the original similar to ds franchise from 2008 -2014.Mass effect still has no sequel announced after Andromeda.
@@Klaatu6432 same bro, i hate this fucking era with remake everywhere. Dead space remake was the worst piece of shit i have ever seen, caracters looks so bad and they changed some scene thinking they could do better but they not + the game is not dark as the original so some place looks really bad in my opinion with this fking yellow light.
+Javier Alvarez Actually its not that scary, i played it alone and with the candle on and with headphones. It makes you jump some times yes but its not like you are scared to move on like some games are ;)
I came back after seeing the remake ending and how the jumpscare felt so ineffective compared to the original. But that's the only grip I have with the remake.
Likewise. I thought the remake was awesome, but that jumpscare was weak. The original with the flashing lights and loud scream felt like it was meant to overload those two senses to really get you.
I know by the second game we know she was a vision but i allways thought it would be cooler if it was actually her in zombieform placed there by the hivemind;)
I’m looking forward to how EA Motive recreates this scene, this time with Isaac speaking and having a script. I’m hoping that the new cast is just as good as the old cast. Plus I know Gunner is returning as Issac, I know Tanya wants to return as Nicole. If Tanya is unable to return as Nicole, then I hope EA Motive gets the DS2 Nicole voice actress then.
Me reacting to Kendra’s death Dead space 1: yea fuck you kendra you ass, you killed Hammond. Dead space remake: dang, you’re an ass lately for killing cross and kyne. But you tried to save and prevent everyone from getting influenced by the marker rip
I was supposed to return to EA Redwood Shores right after the ending, but apparently when the developers opened the portal back to the studio, I wouldn’t go through. From what they described, I was in such a deranged state that I was too afraid to leave the ship. They tried to go in and get me, but I ended up attacking them. Broke one guy’s arm. They tried to lure me out by getting Nicole’s voice actress to tell me everything was okay and that I could come out, but I still wouldn’t go. So, they kept the portal open and brought me necessities until I was ready to leave. Eventually I came out, but I was still pretty shaken up. They had a grief counselor come to talk to me, but it was hard for me to communicate given that I was a silent protagonist. That was when they updated me and gave me the ability to speak. I was getting better, but I was still dealing with hallucinations. I wouldn’t really become myself again until after Dead Space 2.
After seeing the remake, they REALLY altered the story when it comes to Nicole. I think they did it by added a couple new characters to explain why Nicole (which is just supposed to be in Isaac's mind) is able to interact with things and technology. I mean it makes sense but it definitely was confusing at first. I stand by my opinion that this game did not need a remake and that the remake is actually a little inferior to the original. Sound design especially
I agree with this. My complaints mainly were the story elements and the character changes especially with Kendra who is now more of a sympathetic character then a downright villain. I'm still pondering whether it was necessary to make a remake versus a remaster because the remake follows the original quite closely. If anything it does make me appreciate how well the original holds up. Not sure to fit this in but I do find the online discourse around this game to be so one-sided when it comes to criticisms. If anything remotely objective is levied against the remake its seen as "Nostalgia" instead of actual valid criticism. I just find it very odd but oh well it is the internet I suppose.
One of the best modern horror games of our time. The Dead Space series for me at least I always looked at it as what The Thing video games could have been like if they were made. Event Horizon + The Thing = Dead Space series.

The marker can make him vision Nicole as well as make the necromorphs "attack" Nicole.
The sequels were alright, but this first game, Dead Space, blew my mind 10 years ago and still does today.
more like a mix between Event Horizon , The thing, and Mtroid for the universes, and RE for the gameplay
The reason this game is amazing is because it's very closterphobic and the small details like background white noise and metal being pushed around adds atmosphere to the whole experience.
+David Colmenero MAKE US WHOLE!
David Colmenero closterphobic?
David Colmenero that metallic sounds and the strange howling were the best
Nick Kohlmann closterphobic just like a phobia about tight close room... u know like isolation.
Fadlan Hermansyah Are you sure it wasn't called claustrophobia?
10:58 I can’t believe they didn’t bring back that little detail in the remake.
I feel bad for Isaac Clarke
Seeing his girlfriend suicide
What do you mean they didnt? Isaac does have an animation of reacting to the realization, it was just a bit different. Even the same soundtrack piece plays.
18:04 lol at the meteorite popping in.
VSYNC BOIS, well i assume it's beacuse of Vsync
Just finished playing the remake and I think the original ending did a lot better in most cases.
When I was younger I found it really horrifying to play dis game
i still do
I was 17 and when I got the game, played until the first part where you have to run to the elevator.
This ending honestly makes me wonder
How many people originally thought Nicole was a necromorph and killed Issac before the 2nd game came out
Many, even though she killed herself so she wouldn’t become a necro
@@coltforceplayer corpses can become Necros through the infectors
@@ironictec9511 okay so 2 weeks ago me didn’t know that until just recently so yeah, also in the remake they said Nicole’s real fate will be shown so maybe? Necrocole
@@coltforceplayer hope not, keep it a mistery that he never found her body.
@@SrBlue-qp2ux Hope not? It’s literally said bruh, I don’t think what I said was a speculation it was a fact
My god, you probably always appear on many dead space places
Its a already formed brethern moon
"Goodbye, Issac"

Friendzone Space
+paulo estevan that's want happens when you don't tip your fedora
paulo estevan The first
Isaac probably has the worst case of ptsd possible to get
13:45 I don't know why but I love that roar sound.
i love the shot of isaac kneeling at 13:32
why was kendra boarding the ship without loading up the marker tho? that part i didn't get
5 years later and still great horror space game ever.👍
Why is it that Isaac from Dead Space 1 looks OLDER than Dead Space 2 and 3 Isaac? ._.
bad grafics probably
Rômulo Alves Yes, but dead space1, 2 and 3 were all released on the same system.
+Dylan Paez but if i am not wrong they changed the engine in 3 game to be able to play co-op and make bether graphics
Rômulo Alves True, I'm still just curious as to why they didn't just use the same texture for his face in the 2nd game.
+Dylan Paez probabli using same engine from 1 game
When Dead Space was scary and creep as fuck.. good old days.
stuff4ever Still is everytime i play it scares me even more cause i watch how awesome this game was and that there will be no other like this one so...reality is scary...
3:29 Is cute when Nicole asked Issac if he was really him... THAT’S WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO ASKED HER FROM THE BEGINNING! Since she was dead the whole time.
This game gives me the creeps every time. Thanks for the video.
rio197 this game gives me creeps all the time *watches video* ahhh never gets old 😁
I found it funny
Hey, man, thanks alot for the video. This is exactly what I wanted to see. The entire chapter without the action. Don't know why nobody does it like you do.
Thanks alot, again.
Nicole looked a lot younger and better in this game
So much better than the remake
For real.
On goddd!!!💯💯
The remake crossed Dr.Cross's illusion with Isaac's illusion is just brilliant.
The remake wins with this one. Sadly the ending scene isn't as good as in the original, it's more predictable, so less scary ;/
Never play this game at night. Alone. In the dark. With surround sound.
+Javier Alvarez this game is not scary at all..
+Javier Alvarez
Actually its not that scary, i played it alone and with the candle on and with headphones. It makes you jump some times yes but its not like you are scared to move on like some games are ;)
+Matu1 Same, only thing that got me was the jump scare at the end.
+Wilson Cardenas I did it and it was amazing.
Jump scares are the new horror I suppose
I came back after seeing the remake ending and how the jumpscare felt so ineffective compared to the original. But that's the only grip I have with the remake.
What about that photoshopped explosion when the rock crashed back in the planet
I remember this boss, he was so epic to beat, such a good game
jumpscare better than remake
I "traumatized" with the OG DS Ending a Good friend of mine back in the Day...
My *Greatest Prank EVER!*
God I love the ending to this game! Creepy, disturbing, and one hell of a boss fight! What more could you ask for ?
the boss what an hentai nightmare
lol wut?
Nugroho Pangestu tentacle meme
i know right
7:43 no fucks given
I remember wanting to punch Kendra when she came along and stole the marker back. When she was crushed by the hivemind I actually cheered.
THAT noise from the hive mind.... cant go out of my head.... i must be under marker influence....
Isaac seriously had the worst day at job ever.
I've never been more stressed out playing a video game then when playing dead space 3 on hardcore mode and being on the final level.
Me reacting to Kendra’s death
Dead space 1: yea fuck you kendra you ass, you killed Hammond.
Dead space remake: dang, you’re an ass lately for killing cross and kyne. But you tried to save and prevent everyone from getting influenced by the marker rip
I love that weird sound the Hive Mind makes when it rises out of the crater.
Uhh no he actually doesn't because after the credits he's breathing and asking for help
The music before the boss fight is fucking amazing.
Abominable Putdrity
The original is far better than the remake. Especially sound design.
Gameplay, graphics and story are better in the remake.
@@cynicalmemester1694 how about sound design?
@@joey.99 The guns have less punch but the environmental sounds/ambience is better here.
That last part was created by Satan himself
One of the best modern horror games of our time. The Dead Space series for me at least I always looked at it as what The Thing video games could have been like if they were made.
Event Horizon + The Thing = Dead Space series.
Too bad 3 was meh.
My fave horror movies
Don't forget that it's mix a bit with alien.
I braced myself for the jumpscare but his face darkening because of the shadow didn't help...
19:09 Can't wait to experience this again in the remake version.
Jamás olvidaré la reacción de mi hermano menor al grito de Nicole al final, el estaba en plan de "este juego no da casi miedo" y después de eso se ha negado a jugarlo hasta el día de hoy dice que no le gusta este juego
9:12 to 11:34 possibly one of the most emotional moments in all of video games from one of the best games ever created.
One detail i noticed is that in this game only you hear the flatline when people die. They didn't do that in the other ones

Dude, when the lights went dark, I saw some lines behind his head that kinda looked like Nicole’s outfit so I thought she’s standing behind him and he really went insane. So that jumpscare scared me, made me squeal.lol
HE LOOKS LIKE A DOCTOR
That jump scare at the end though... WHY GOD DANG IT! When I saw it, my heart was a meter away from my body.
Issac never talked in dead space 1 but 2/3 he does?
GamingRocksThisWorld he also talks like 1/2 lines in this chapter at the end.
Ok
Lenny Brown Lines? What were they? All I know is the "UGH!", "OWH!" and the "AAGH!"
Ibrahim Mahmoud I hear him say "come on!" After he bangs on the door at the end
He had more stuff to talk about. Before Dead Space 1 Issac was not a very interesting person.
I liked the touch with the explosive canister at the end. Nice :P
I finished the game at 2 in the morning in darkness and quite tired. I regretted it
Ahh the nostalgia...imma play the entire series right now. Thanks for the video👍
Yep, I did just finish this game on Christmas day in 2020 hehe.
The sound design when it rises up is absolutely demented
Resident Evil on space.
Mohd Jazil Zulkipli and Ark: Survival Evolved is the game that happened when Minecraft hit Puberty
Thank you for this video, this is exactly what I was looking for 🤘
sh*t the jumpscares on the end
Just finished it and next to dead space 2, I just love old games and this is by far my fav fps/horror/sci-fi game. Ill check doom after and see if it entertains me.
Everyone: *casually watching the video*
Game: "we gonna get they ass at the end lmaoo" (the Jump scare)
I remember that huge relief when the last boss killed Amelia… i really though she would get away. Fuck… i cant wait for the remaster to release
Except this time player should get a chance to finish her
Kids who play freaking battle royales nowadays won't understand how awesome this was.
