The leg wings still absolutely bends my mind, probably one of the most unique transformations for a beastformer i’ve seen in a while. A lot better than a bird with human legs trying to pop a squat
to my knowledge, Energon Divebomb did it previously, and in a more complex way, of course Mindwipe, that said, I am glad to see this transformation step revisited
I truly hope that your channel grows waaaay bigger, I'd hate to see a great person be destroyed by the algorithm. I hope you're having a good day so far
You know, seeing the transformation and how mechanical the sculpt is, plus having the daggers....I'd love to see this with a slight repaint/new head as Energon Divebomb.
As one of six RID 2015 enjoyers, I’m calling it. This beauty is getting repainted into Filch (the crow thief) for next year’s Walmart-exclusive subline. Also, if possible, I’d like to see HasTak borrow this figure’s engineering for a redo of the original Airazor.
There’s nothing else Filch could possibly be, unless she’s a pretool for something else, which I doubt. Kingdom Airazor’s robot mode is wrong, and that’s the only other bird bot available.
Here is Australia they were sold separately with the first wave of deluxe mainlines being Bumblebee, Cheetor and Airazor. I can still find Airazors today as they aren't too popular.
New Zealand has lots of Airazors too. Except for JB Hifi NZ, which doesn't stock Transformers and JB Australia won't let you ship them in from the Australian site, so that's incredibly unhelpful, especially now they're getting all the exclusives.
I like how this ROTB mainline Airazor figure works. Would like to see this repainted in BW show colors. I only wish her figure was sold alone, instead of in a exclusive three pack, and wish the movie had Airazor transform. -I got the Studio Series Airazor instead. And she looks cool.
When I got my copy of the figure, the lower left arm was pinned slightly off on the elbow which made it unable to bend properly, i managed to fix it by taking a knife to it and managed to get the pin where it should’ve been.
Things I would like to add would be: that you can mistransform the robot legs to give the bird mode bendable wings(doesn't look the prettiest, but it's okay for a crouched/resting position. Also I noticed on your and my figure, that the shoulders are obviously on the wrong sides. You can notice, that the sculpt above the bicep swivel has a line like on the back of the upper arm and back above the swivel it has a bump which fits perfectly with the front of the upper arm tho make a 'bicep muscle' of sorts. And lastly, I like to have her use a reverse grip for the swords. Looks a lot better without having to cheat her articulation or breaking the sculpt.
I got this on its own in Australia, and was looking forwards to hearing what you thought of it. I like a robot animal alt mode better anyway, so apart from the wrists requiring some cheating for a sword-wielding pose I love it.
I too love it, it's so good, and the cheating isn't that bad, though I wish they made the thumbs look a little more like they could be on either side of the hand.
Alright, you convinced me to pay the mark-up to get one from overseas. I do love the look and transformation of this figure, and she'll go great with my equally awesome mainline Rhinox.
the thing that strikes me about this is how close it actually is to Beast Machines Basic Silverbolt in terms of design and transformation. Honestly a relatively minor retool could create a Chug version of the emo-bird-man
Yup, I'm one of those guys that bought her from Ebay (individual package from Japan). But damn, she brings me joy for the same reasons you covered in your video.
I think that with a movie accurate beast head and better articulation, this would work well as a SS 2.0 Airazor. For what we have here though, she's excellent. Also, this should be turned into a Legacy Earthspark Nightshade should they decide to make more figures after United.
One of the ways that Hasbro could do to improve the leg wing is to make the robot thigh swivel connection being a balljoint with a cut inside the thigh.
@@PerspectiveEnd Not exactly gonna improve the robot mode, but at least you can somewhat tuck the bird mode wings by giving the robot mode thighs some inward bend.
Did get the mainline Airazor not too long ago. Is a impressive figure. Surprised to hear it's hard to get on it's own while over here in the UK it was available everywhere. Though sadly no Wave 2 of the deluxe mainline here which is annoying.
I'm glad SOMEBODY reviewed this. I was thinking about it instead of the SS Airazor because that's just the kingdom mold but worse, and the only other reviewer who did this figure is PrimeVsPrime and probably Dr Cockdown.
I do agree about how the robot should, to an extent, be a robot basically wearing what it turns into, not having parts of it's alt mode form something as obscure as the head or be so hidden away where it doesn't even look like it can turn into anything, looking at you AoE/TLK Prime and TLK Megatron
Yeah, like why would they even be made out of parts of alien vehicles (to them) anyways, like they seriously changed all of their internal components to something you'd find on a real car? And all the hinging and jointage needed for that wouldn't make sense.
i've seen this figure in stores Alone NO BOX SET YES and my first thoughts were IS THAT A BUDGIE?? also the three pack should be called, KILLED OFF FOR NO DAMN REASON THREE PACK
And yes, that salt is shared that salt is shared that she never went bot mode for even a few seconds. The bridge scene would have been a good scene for it. It felt the most contrived for them to Worf her like that, just to "show the stakes" again.
This figure, destroyed my Kingdom Airazor, literally when I opened the box of this figure, the Kingdoms wing snapped off across the room from me, prior to this it was completely solid. I would have been more pissed if this figure wasn’t so great.
I came across this set at Target only once, but I had to pass just because I wasn’t willing to pay $60 when I only want the one figure. Hopefully Hasbro will release her alone at a later date.
Hi PE. I just got Studio Series Blurr, long after your review. After having him in hand, I would describe his transformation as soul crushing. It's not that his transformation is complex or he is fragile, rather, his transformation expect you to defy physics. The two legs are supposed to tab together. But one of the tabs is obviously slide from back to front, while the other is just a tab and hole. Trying to get these tabs together completely defies physics. There is also very little clearance for his feet to tab into his shoulder blades. His transformation is absolutely not fun, and I hated it. What do you think of my description?
I don't think I ever realized this was rare, I just got it when I saw it and didn't think twice about it, then again now that I think about it I haven't seen it on shelves since then. The first 3 pack was on shelves for a while and I know this because I debated on getting it for a good while until finally getting it, this one must have sold out because it had one of the few Mirage toys. Weird thing is this exact thing happened with 86 Grimlock.
I love this figure just bc of the amazing bird mode! Had to get the three back but I was surprised to like the mirage but the bumblebee doesn’t hold together at all lmao. Also in spirit of beast wars week, I got to go to TFCON and meet Garry Chalk! It was like the coolest experience of my life!
I ended up getting the three pack since the difference in price to Airazor on eBay was negliable. My 5 year old did love the Bumblebee and Mirage. As for the Maximal symbol, I ran into the same issue. I ended up having to check a few videos to see if a symbol was even supposed to be there. They really needed a better color for it to show up.
My favorite figure out of the mainline. Damn shame Hasbro decided to make her nigh impossible to find on store shelves in the US. I ended up caving and paid a friend in the UK to buy and ship me one. Costed me about 2/3 of the box set, but was well worth it since I didn't have 2 figures that would have ended up at the bottom of a box somewhere. I only hope that they end up reusing the mold in some capacity for an easier to find figure sometime in the future. It's such a fun figure to pose and flip back and forth.
Today I learned that this is ONLY sold in a 3pack in the US............. *DEEP beleaguered sigh of disappointment.* I saw that 3pack and passed it up. Still not sure it was worth it, but now I'm at the mercy of the scalpers.
I really wish this had been the studio series, it's so weird that they did a radical new design for a mainline. But just did a lazy retool for a premium studio series
Should I make ROTB Airazor an ancestor of BW Airazor or should I shorten the time skip between the Autobot-Decepticon war and the Beast Wars? This Airazor is classic mecha goodness. I would love to see Hasbro take another crack at Beast Wars Airazor using this figures designs as a base. Couldn't be any worse that their attempt to retool Kingdom Airazor for Studio Series and we might get something real nice out of it.
I love this Airazor. I got her from InDemand a few weeks ago and she's amazing. I tend to pose her with the daggers in reverse grip. I just wish the Studio version had been a bigger and better version of this. It's not like she had an on-screen robot mode to be loyal to. I still want to get the Studio one, but this one is miles ahead of it at the moment.
If Hasbro knew how much people wanted this, I don't know if they'd sell it in packs as opposed to standalone. Sure, the three-pack might cost more, but banking on selling one really great figure through this just doesn't make sense.

In Canada it is. So likely yes

Basically they all got upgraded like cyclonous or gavatron by the entity (early unicron)

Hiding most of the wing in the leg is just so clever.

I really like this design, and the transformation is cool. I just wish this wasn't a store exclusive three pack that comes with two far worse looking figures
Not just worse looking, those other two are a not good figure, and one of the worst I've handled in years.
I ended up paying almost $40 to get the singular release, but man it was worth it
