Awesome, I am an engineering student and your videos are so inspiring. The way your videos explains the projects outline is so well organized. It is the simple things like this people will like to see more of. Looking forward to this building series, keep up the good work!!
Wow, this comment means a lot to me! I'm an engineer myself (mechanical) and people often are quick to criticize a style that's not suited to them. I'm glad you like what I'm doing here and took the time to write a note. Stay tuned, and thanks again!
Thanks! I do have a pretty technical background: I have a masters degree in mechanical engineering, my normal "day" job is running product development teams for hardware and software, and I make large-scale kinetic art on the side. I haven't built a house before, though, so I've been spending all of my free time trying to learn everything I can in order to do as much of it myself as possible! Will make a lot of mistakes on the way, for sure, but I enjoy learning and know I'll be more satisfied in the end if I put my own sweat into it. Stay tuned and I hope you end up enjoying the upcoming episodes!
@@LetsOverthinkThis That is impressive and love your drive! I’m a nurse, ER 20 years, and 15 plus years home health (stay at home taking care of special needs son). Subscribed and looking for next video. Best success!
We built our rural off grid home in another state and didn't have to have any plan checks, permitting, site plans, surveys, no earth quakes, set backs, and protections for trees. There was no restrictions. Sure glad we left California years ago. Best of luck.
My wife and I have been living in a 400sf tiny home for the last two years off grid in Post Oregon. Believe me when I say 200sf is going get small.
Oh I know. It's a tiny ROOM. 👍
Brilliant
Looking forward to this one
Me too ;)

Yep, things are different in different places 😉 Glad you're enjoying it where you are and thx for watching 👍
How many acres are you dealing with?
I was stationed at 29 Palms in the 80's. Beautiful country , in its own way.
Ten and yeah, I agree. Love it here.
What kind of workshop?
I make crazy art with my group FoldHaus, so I'll just be puttering away on various things there. :)
... far out man ...!
Literally 😉
