I found this so very wonderful to watch. I am writing my own music (only a few minutes in length) for the piano (keyboard) and I start with a topic that I want to write about and then I imagine it; from there I start and construct my short pieces. I have only been playing the piano (keyboard) for 6 months, but I find that writing my own material -rather than playing covers- is really helping me to further my understanding of the keyboard.
Listening to the way in which Vivaldi did the same, is so very inspiring for me. I was actually stuck on connecting a few sections of my new song: The Death Of Marriage. However, I think (after watching this) that I may have an answer now! ;-)

Is it possible to produce the full musical composition with the highlighted Vivaldi annotations as subtitles as described in this presentation? Would add to the understanding of the various sequences. Thanks for an excellent presentation.

In the section where he mentions about the hunt in Autumn, after the drunken dream state. I was actually hearing a Waltz which would be celebrating the harvest.

While I know how Vivaldi is indeed held in the highest esteem as a genius composer - and rightly so, obviously. What I want to understand is this: With the advent of Beethoven and the Classical period, why did the Baroque era come to be considered lesser in the minds of an unusually large number of musicologists?
Though Bach is considered by practically everyone as likely the greatest composer in history, and Vivaldi is way way up there too, somehow the Baroque Era always takes “second fiddle” - if you will - to the relatively short-lived Classical Era. BTW, at 7:53 listen as Vivaldi slips into modern 20th century atonal music - almost sounds like movie atonal background music.

I'm surprised of the meaning of the 3rd movement. I always thought it was squirrels scavanding the woods for nuts, a bit in a hurry to prepare for winter :-) But actually it's hunting :'(

If i had a Stradivarius violin, does it sound better cause i don't know how to play it? Or, does a fiddle sound better in the hands of someone who does?
