PORSCHE SPYDER RS // THE ULTIMATE THRILL // REVIEW

  • No words needed or maybe just so many words needed, to describe the new Porsche 718 Spyder RS. 9000 rpm-tune from the 4-litre flat six cylinder boxer engine that is derived from the racing series, makes life rather pleasent. And also very loud. And in an open car the feeling is just complete and this is exactly where you want to be. At least me. Racing car handling for the B-roads and for the race track is what the Spyder RS serves the driver. But how does it get along to live with from day to day and will the manually operated soft top make you loose your mind?

    I own one of these and FINALLY a reviewer who gets it (although even Doug Demuro and the Carwow boy admit this is probably the best current Porsche available in their reviews).
    Thank you for not spending 8 minutes overdramatizing how bad the roof is - because it’s actually pretty easy once you use it.
    This car is 100x more fun than the 992 I owned before it.

      Congratulations to your RS Spyder, amazing car! And thank you, nice to hear you like my review. I just tell the world how every car is, no more, no less. This one really gets you going big time. The roof is fun and not so tricky after two rounds up and down. Drive safe, have fun and thanks for watching 🙏

    I cheer for PDK but if the MT can cope with 500 ps in the GT3, why can't it in the Spyder RS?!

    • @whatcarwhattime
      @whatcarwhattime  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It sure can, I'm just so winded up about the PDK because it is such an effective gearbox. It harmonizes so well with this eager engine that in comparison the manual feels like a waste. Even though its fun with a manual and I love it in many cars. But in this, it should stay away, just for now 😉😅. Thanks for watching 🙏

    • @neilturner6749
      @neilturner6749 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There’s no absolute right or wrong in the equation, but I think there’s a crossover point in performance where the car becomes too fast for manual to be the better choice. I chose manual for my 4.0 GTS but would not go this route with the extra 100hp of the GT3 engine

    • @neilturner6749
      @neilturner6749 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Don’t forget Porsche does not do manual in RS versions of GT3 either. I presume this is simply because they only build small numbers and the engineering cost to make manual and auto boxes interchangeable on the production line is not economic.

    It's really funny, listening to people like this guy, who are coming up with this totally stupid "...Porsche are among the very best...."
    Listen dude: PORSCHE is just THE BEST, period! There isn't "...among the best", because nothing comes close!
    If you compare a sports car like the Spyder RS with "competitors", we are talking about some oh so superfancy supercars for quite double or triple the money. Therefore it makes no sense to compare it with other super sports cars, because nothing comes close to such a perfect package / perfection Porsche has achieved with a car like the 718 Spyder RS today!
    Today Porsches is just totally perfect at almost everything they are doing. Nothing comes close to the perfection of Porsche GT cars. For its money, these type of cars are even kind of a bargain, because they won't loose value! Which super sports cars won't loose value from the beginning? There just aren't any other cars!
    Porsche GT sports cars are like an investment, and this is the reason why these cars are so much desirable and desperately wanted and are getting some hate from clowns, who just don't understand why Porsche isn't producing more of these cars. Of course these people can't afford the 718 Spyder RS .

      You must do more than work for Porsche? He says some things you don't like and you attack him? Don't watch his stuff. A statement is made about him not being able to afford one, who cares! I'm sure he could out drive you regardless of what he can afford? As if that mattered. He can drive!
