- Chizuru Kagura, also known as Chizuru Yata is the third member of the sacred treasures team, and she is also probably the most underrated character in the King of fighters series.
Which is a shame considering that story wise, she is one of the most if not THE most influential and relevant female character. And I hope through this video, to give her the recognition she deserves.

It's rough when your favorite character in a fighting game is one who makes very few appearances. Even worse when she goes on hiatus, then comes back only to go an even longer one lasting nearly two decades. Chizuru was what got me into the KOF series, and it pleases me to no end that she's finally back in KOFXV.

In some ways, she is similar to Kazama Jun from Tekken. Both have been missing from the story for quite a while until now.
I love chizuru and she really is underrated even though she is very important to the whole orochi saga.

Yeah, Chizuru is one of the most important characters and DESERVES to return in XV, though they defeated Orochi in the Yagami ending in XIV.
Like, she can be a part of the Women's team like in 97 or 98(UM).

And then Mizuki spirit finds her perfect vessel.... On Chizuru's twin sister.
I like how she is the "glue" that keeps Iori and Kyo together.
Chizuru has the Yata mirror which symbolizes wisdom.
Kyo has the Kusanagi sword which symbolizes valor.
Iori has the Yasakani magatama which symbolizes benevolence.
She's finally back after 18 years!
2003. Oof.. that and Rayman 3 were the good times.
She gets overlooked so much despite her being a major and extremely important character. This was an awesome vid. KOF is truly a story deep series.
They need to sleeping on Seth,Lin,Jhun,Nameless and the rest of cast from the previous sagas
She is beautiful, she dances, she has a strong fashion sense and her theme is one of the bests in the KoF series.

Chizuru was my first Kof character. She is the reason why I learned to love the game. Thank you for this.
She is the most gorgeous woman in KOF or better yet, in SNK. Even as a Mai fan, I admit that her stunning beauty is unfathomable that even Mary, Mai, Vanessa or Mature's beauty couldn't compete with hers (They are really gorgeous as well tho). Not to mention that she is also the strongest woman in KOF since she beat Orochi Shermie. Sadly, she is a really underrated character. She hasn't been included in the game as a playable character anymore since KOF 2003. Even SNK themselves stated that she isn't prominent on the lore anymore since the Orochi saga has ended. I really hope that she'll be back in KOF XV...

@@sladejosephwilson2300 I think there's a chance. There's more to Orochi's clan than just Orochi itself. It's highly likely the Hakkeshou were all revived. Goenitz and CYS may be making a comeback just like Mature and Vice did. And it's likely Chizuru will try to investigate to stop them.
It might even be possible for Verse's destruction to have caused the revival of more than just evil characters, so not even Maki is out of the question.

@@extremmefan7305 It does not exactly need to be exclusively related to any type of Orochi things to have a big threat in KOF universe to bring Chizuru. Remember. Mizuki Rashoujin from Samurai Spirits likely got resurrected due to Verse's defeat.
And alongside her there's also Maki, which is Chizuru's beloved dead sister who's likely going to be revived too.
To think there's a small chance of Maki being again a final boss and being the next vessel for Mizuki's spirit [Visually they look like each other in some way] that would be even more dangerous than Yamata no Orochi[Because Ambrosia and all].

Regarding her dancing, apparently her name translates to a term meaning something like a dance to please the gods, or so I recall reading many years ago - it would certainly fit her more priestly duties.
Her aesthetic and character reminds me so much of Jun Kazama

Nice! She was such a hard character for me to fight when she was a mid boss, but i love how she was intertwined within the story. Thanks for the background info on Chizuru Shoryu! I'm going to add my voice to the chorus and say do Takuma Sakazaki! He was such a beast in the SVC chaos comics, equal to Akuma, that i wonder if there is something about him that i'm missing? Plus his super in KOF 98, Shin Kishin Geki, had the best sound effects in the game. I lost many matches just trying to pull it off so i could hear how awesome that 4-6 punch sounded lol.

Unlike other fans, i really like Shizuru, was the most important characters of the KOF lore and a plot device in 96, 97 and 2003 (well this last point it's not good for all, but is better that only appearance for why not) If make a KOF animated series, She was one of the most potential to great backstory.
She was cute ( for me) while Mai is sexy

I didn't know much about the Kaguras but I did first see Chizuru in '03
Chizuru is such an underrated and over looked character. Back when I played '96 in arcades was so expecting Rugal. When I saw her I was like a new chick working for him. She looks awesome! Then when Goenitz came after I was change in KOF, it's about time! I hope she teams up the the '97 team again as default in KOF 15 (though I doubt it).
Yknow, I just realized that since Verse’s death ended up resurrecting many deceased fighters, even from other worlds or timelines like Mizuki, that means that Maki could have been amongst those revived, so her potential inclusion in future KOF Games wouldn’t only give Chizuru more screen time, but also give us fans a new character to play as, even if it means changing one of the sister’s looks and fighting styles to make them different enough. Then add Maki getting back her original Sacred Treasure and she becomes a whole nother beast XP

Man, so many parallels to Naruto. The uchiha and senju rivalry, plus a clan that was trained specifically to seal orochi similar to the uzumaki clan to seal tailed beasts. Does anyone know where some these writers draw inspiration for these plots? Probably an ancient story. The original Yu-gi-oh! also has this with Kaiba v. Yugi.
Kof Lore is older
They probably just share common old japanese mythologies for bases. I know for example the mirror of Yata exists in Touhou as well (albeit simply an official manga appearance).
That's because kishimoto copied a lot of characters here,. Here are few Examples:
ITACHI UCHIHA'S looks, fire style power, and the design of clothing where the clan logo is placed at the back.. resembled that of KYO KUSANAGI'S
KAKASHI HATAKE'S looks and chidori resembled that of BENIMARU NIKAIDO'S looks and power.
OHNOKI'S look's resembled that of CHIN GENTSAI
GAARA'S looks resembled that of IORI YAGAMI, while his gourd resembled that of CHIN GENTSAI.
these are just a few examles but as you play more kof you'll notice that there is more.
C'MON KOF - Destiny... people are wondering who's the third treasure owner being referenced in every intro. I wonder when we'll have the other seasons covering the First Saga
