To all those sensitive people with no sense of humour saying "oh, that's not funny", that's kinda the whole charm of Phoebe!, she had an awful childhood, and she was still the happiest & perkiest of the group. The comedy comes from her comparing actually awful stuff she lived through with some everyday annoyance, the comedy is in the irony, and how she sees not much difference.
You do realize that it's a character not a real person. If it was a real person who went through all that and had that attitude towards life, it would be really inspirational. But it's sitcom character written by folks who definitely did not share Phoebe's life experience. They gave her that backstory and those dialogues for the explicit purpose of comedy. It's indefensible and I cannot see how people still tryna portray it in the positive light when almost all of her lines of this kind are followed by a literal laugh track!
Phobe has inspired me to look at life to the best possible way! having fun, living every moment and be positive no matter what! and it is possible! she proved it!

In a 3rd world country like India, getting a bicycle was a privilege and luxury, and even many office goers cycle to work. Even government officials gift millions of bicycles to the underprivileged every year. Why crib about bikes when you live in western developed countries ? Of what use are bikes over there ?

Because she’s literally been trough so much trauma as a child? And she has become this weird, deviating from average person as a reaction to that trauma? Plus she doesn’t have bad intentions and tries to be a good person so what’s the problem ? Also not everyone can be perfect, boring , practical puritans , contrary to what many USA and western people want to believe
