    Office Depot sells discs under the brand name TUL and Staples sells them under the brand name ARC. They are both solid discs with no heart cutouts! Levenger sells discs too that are fancier and more expensive!

    • @lisaleone2296
      @lisaleone2296 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true. The TUL/ARC discs are the same hole size and pitch (spacing between discs) as the Happy Planner discs, and you can punch the pages with the same punches. Howver, keep in mind that you can't mix TUL/ARC with Happy Planner in the same book because the discs are different diameters.

    Hello, I am so happy I found you on youtube. I was viewing many videos on the Happy Planner. I appreciate your files. I have many old planners of which I do not want to just throw out and thought there would be a way to reuse most of them but had not figure it out until watching your video. I have a Cricut Maker and Air 2 along with a lot of paper stock, pens, and other supplies of which now I can customize my own planners without spending a fortune. I use two planners: work and personal. Thanks for your effort and time. Be Blessed!

    I just found your channel today because I recently purchased a Cricut and was in search of sticker tutorials. From an older video of yours, I came to this one. PERFECT! I also LOVE planners. Especially Happy Planners. Like you, I am not a heart person. I cover my disc hearts with buttons attached by hot glue. This allows me to remove the buttons when I desire but they stay attached firmly. I also recently used jewelry gems as well. Can't wait to see what else I can learn from your great videos. Thank you.

I just did a test cut on some Walmart construction paper and it cut like a charm....Some comments are saying how they can't get things lined up, I don't have a cricket machine but when I inserted the file into my machine I did have to resize the one I wanted to cut as my machine resized it as it scanned the whole image but no fear at all I just deleted the one's I didn't need and resized the image I needed (Classic) to 9 and a 1/4 by 7.02 and it cut like a charm and the holes lined up perfectly.....THANK YOU so much for providing this file to us for FREE!!!! I use a deep cut blade a strong grip mat and a custom setting of 220 pressure x3 on a cricut maker., that seems to do the job. Make sure to tape your page to the mat to avoid it moving around.

    LOVE THIS!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Your voice is very nice to listen to :-) Would I be able to cut a LAMINATED cover I have made the same way I can cut paper, card stock etc.?

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Brenda.
      I have cut laminated dividers successfully, although I haven’t done much testing.
      I used a 60lb cardstock and a 3mil laminating film with the knife blade on my Cricut maker. I’m pretty sure the regular blade can cut it as well or maybe use a deep cut blade with several passes to make sure it cuts through. Laminating film can become very stiff after it goes through your laminating machine so, I’d start with a medium pressure and 2 passes. Don’t eject the mat from the machine and check if it cut correctly, if not, give it another go.
      Good luck!

    Thank you so much for the svgs. I have a question. Do we use the edging thing on all of he sizes of the planners?

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The edge technique is only to cut binding holes on a piece of paper that is exactly the same size as the page you want to add to your planner. Since besides the big happy planner, all others are smaller than a letter size sheet of paper , you can cut several from a 11x8.5 paper.
      Anyways, using the edge targeting technique, you can also use smaller size pieces of paper to add to your planner.

    Hello, love all your videos!!!
    Just had a question about uploading SVG files to Cricut design space. When I uploaded the classic size file the holes did not cut properly, the spacing was not correct. Does the file have to be resized after upload and if so what are the dimensions?

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Renee, glad you like the videos.
      The files should not be resized at all. Do you have any photos you can send to omar@awesomesvgs.com ? The spacing works well on mi end, and they are constant throughout the different sizes.

  • @itsalongstory1694
    @itsalongstory1694 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Since the big happy planner edge targeting technique is designed for the big planner, after cutting planner marks, and printing would I then just use a craft cutter to size the page down?Also, if I'm printing classic size planner onto the 8.5x11 sheet, how would you suggest getting that lined up correctly that would be most effective for the size difference?Thanks in advance, I love your tutorials!

    • @OmarToro
      @OmarToro 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Denise Long hello!!
      For sizes classic and mini, it is best to cut the pages first using the corresponding SVG file and THEN printing. That way you don’t have the hassle that involves lining both sides. Try a few pages first to see if your printer’s feeding mechanism can handle the irregular edges of the already cut paper and print one at a time.

  • @CheekyAdorable

    I am THRILLED to find your video and mad YT didn't recommend it to me when I was literally searching for artists using disk binding. I've cut carrying 2-3 different note books down to just 1 because of this system, and it helped me organize all of my loose art papers from 1.5 drawers in my craft room, to a single 2" book that sits beside me on my art shelf.
    I guess I could have also used a binder? But I like the ability to easily pull out pages, or punch on the top instead of the side. The disks are also more forgiving if I over fill XD. No more popping rings leaving my papers at the bottom of my bag, or smaller pages not quite reaching the second ring. It just feels so much more customizable, but I don't know any other artists as in love with this as I am XD

      You could use your machine or a paper trimmer to cut your pages with no binding holes first and the use this edge targeting technique to cut centered binding holes on those cut pages.

      Yes it can. You should do at least 3 passes at 260 points of pressure and make sure to secure your page very well using tape. A deep cut blade is recommended. When you cut, don’t eject the mat and check if the machine cut all the way through, if not, give it another go. Good luck

    • @AwesomeSVGs

      Not really, but you can use the big happy planner file, centering the smaller page within the boundaries of the larger edge. All happy planner sizes have the separation between the discs, constant, so you could also do this for the mini size.

    Does not work for me. My Maker does NOT make the marks in the same order as yours and when I push the pause button, it "cuts" the first hole. I never get the chance to put the paper on the mat. And your templates are NOT the correct size for the planners. I have a BIG Happy Planner and the cover page templates is Not correct. My cover pages, minus the laminate, are 9 x 11.25. If I resize the page, the disc holes are off. This is a GREAT idea. Any suggestions for a fix?

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe the last update to design space changed something by I gave t cut pages lately. I’ll try it soon and let you know.
      You must not resize the svg file otherwise you’ll change distance between discs and pages won’t fit. If you want to cut larger or smaller pages, just center te paper to the marks made in the first pass, no need to resize.

    One question, how do you cut the laminate sheet for the front cover after you've laminated?

      You do it the same way you cut your regular sheets. Just center it vertically, but make sure to align the edge of the laminating pouch to be cut, to the edge of your other pages. If you look at branded planners the bound edges match because if not, they’d overlap when opened and might rip.
      Hope that helps.

      If you scroll down to the very bottom, there should be two downloads you click on. They're under the picture uploads of the SVGs, and there should be two buttons, one for the edge target and one for the SVGs!

      Download links look like a teal bullet with white text animation if you are on a desktop computer. If you are on a mobile device they only look like a text hyperlink of a different color (blue)
      They are usually right after the supplies list and before the comments section.

      @@AwesomeSVGs thanks heaps and also to Breanna. I found the files. May end up buying your Printables on Etsy which will be quicker and easier than cutting on my Cricut. Do like the tabbed dividers though.
