Why did he have to die.
I think the reason he never turned on the gods was because he loved them just as much as did Humanity, he saw the flaws in the gods and learned to still love them despite that.
He was Loved by everyone
To Goll and Brunhilde- he was their big brother
to Ares- He was his Best friend
To Zeus- He was his son
and to Jack- He was the one who loved him
Hercules was the true definition of a God, one who forgives despite all the sins committed. Heracules truly did the righteous thing because he was the bigger man at the end of the day.
Personally the reason i love Heracules so much is that he does not side with anyone and just wants what is best for both sides, that is what I want most of all. He is of both worlds, so he understands better then anybody.
Holy fuck Jack kills Heracles with "the blood on his hands" how have i never relized the double entendre before
It took me way too long to realise it too, I must have read this fight at least a dozen times and only on the latest reread for this video did it click in my head
You know, despite Heracles unrealistic dreams, he was truly strong, both body and soul.
Heracles is written like a One Piece character. Someone so bound by their morals and ideals that they will make the objectively wrong decision with a smile, because their ideals are far above the importance of their life and all else. The right decision is to rebel against the Gods, fight Jack unfairly, and take Jack down with him, but to do that would throw away everything he believes in
I am a simple man. I see record of ragnarok content, and I click
I know it might not be your style but I almost wish you had a signature intro. With the quality of your videos I always get hype to see them, and I think having that catchy start really grasps you into the setting of the video, kinda like summoningsalt or the wise. If you do or you don't videos are always hype
The on with the vid part is kinda that, but kinda not
This legitimately made me fucking cry because of how fucking beautiful it was. This was just....my God.
Heracles could’ve took Jack with him but instead of dealing a final blow he embraced him and showed Jack love
I don’t think the thought of taking Jack down with him even entered his mind. It wouldn’t be honorable. The love Jack felt was there all along, it just took that for him to see it
😂😂😂😂
It's sad he was bound by duty, if he had been able to do as he wished he would of fought to save humanity. But it's poetic how in the end he saves the very worst of humanity in Jack, proving he genuinely loved them. He may be naïve in ways but he is the most heroic of the characters gods and mortals. What makes him so wonderful is that he loves everyone in spite of their faults and that the tragedy of if is that if someone had been able to save Jack in his mortal life things would of been different. But Heracles was there in the tournament and he saved him as a hero dose, Jack won the match but Heracles won the more important fight, maybe it will see Jack change in the end for the better.
I definitely enjoyed Heracles in Record of Ragnarok, which made his death all the more sad. Heracles was still a hero for humanity, even if he fought for the gods who wanted to destroy humanity.
Heracles is one of the four gods I like as people and not as characters, with appollo, Buddha, and shiva being the other 3, but I never really took a deep dive into his character. I was always more fascinated by Jack the Ripper, but I now can’t see this fight as good vs evil anymore. But as reality vs idealism. Jack was always a realistic in the way he was portrayed. And as you said, Heracles is very idealistic. One of my favorite things to do is make a fake roster for humanity which includes fictional humans. But now I just want to know how Heracles would react to Batman or joker from persona 5. Both being very different in forms of the ideal justice Heracles believes in, but are truly just people.
6:45 baby dragon!
7:07 loki's drip tho. Why isn't this his attire during ragnarok?
I know the word we equate ror heracles is 'justice'. But i think a more accurate word would be 'fairness'. He believes that things should be fair
- that the strong shouldn't trample on the weak (as alcides)
- he believed the gods' word they'd never harm humans (which aged poorly)
- he was irritated that the serial killer brunhilde sent out used hit-and-run tactics and deceit
- but he ultimately loved that serial killer and wanted to save him, just like any other human
He did not discriminate. He simply saw jack as one more person to save. And, he did. At the cost of his life. But he still did
Peak fiction
I look forward to seeing jack the ripper's analysis (he's one of my personal fav)
Love these, keep it up
Thanks, will do
The a Ripper Jack is my favorite
Here's an idea for Longinus vs Athena
Athena sheild has the head of medusa and we could have her us it to try and turn him into stone but longinus try his best to not look but near the end she cuts his eye and she beats him down and light glow from his eye and with his belief he gets the eye of truth and can see without eyes and can't be turn to stone and Athena main strategy broken and her over confidence cause her down fall
Can’t wait for Jacks Video next this was great
I'm looking forward to making it too
when the off season comes out I'll wait for your video analysis (1 hour minimum)
Can't wait for Hades and Apollo
I wonder what title you're going to give jack the ripper.
My guesses are: the envoy of evil, the envoy of malice, the unloved villain, the seeker of fear, the paragon of fear. Malice manifested, the artist of fear, the weakest villain, the weakest human, the unloved child, the paragon of evil, the villain who ended up being loved and an unloved human who was shown loved.
If i may relate heracles and miro (mha) for a sec
They wanted to save many people (all of humanity/lemillion) but ended up only saving one person (jack/eri)
Peak fiction
I will be honest with you all. Before, i didn't like hercules. I didn't like him in the mythology because he killed the hydra. Back then, i would like these monsters like dragons and giant serpents. Creatures that were reptile-ish. I still do, in fact. So the hydra was one of them, so because of that, i hated hercules. Also, i sorta like jack the ripper. Sure, his victim of choice isn't something i agree with. But as a fan of horror, i take an intrest in him. So when i saw this match, it was not hard for me to decide who to root for. But later, when i saw the anime series and got a good understanding of *this* hercules,... i could not help but like his character. He was a great person. He wanted only to do what's right no matter what. Also, his design is really cool.
Look. I still don't like hercules in mythology for what he did to the hydra. But i won't deny that this version of hercules is one i can get behind. This is the only exception. The fact that he loves humanity is unconditional is admirable. It's something that i cannot do. Or anyone in that matter. Not easily, at least.
Hercules is indeed the envoy of justice. But more than that, he is also something very important. He's not a god or a man. Hes the best of both.
Mythology is really weird because the cultures are so different. Many heroic actions in old stories would be considered monsterous actions today, and visa versa. Pretty much everything Zeus does in mythology would make him into the biggest villian in today’s stories, but back then it was more seen as a rightous fear of uncontrollable nature
Hercules was well written and as much as people want to call him a dumbass what he did was respectable he did what he thought was best and it failed but that’s no fault of his own
Human loving Gods. Gotta be one of my favorite genders.
He’s so underrated and I wish he would have survived. Ugh.
I feel Hercules the cause of buddhas rebellion
Herc just betrayed mankind and jack get all the shit for winning against him
Is you stupid
