Honestly thai food and indian food in particular are really easy to make vegan, just thinking of green curry is bringing back some major cravings!

Thai food probably not since it uses a lot of coconut milk. This comes as a surprise to many people, but coconut milk isn't considered vegan because monkeys are often used to harvest coconuts. It's certainly easier to make a lot of Thai dishes vegetarian, though, if you replace fish sauce with MSG or something.

The main issue with vegan food its the price if you don't go out of the way to do it yourself.

i'm not vegan, but vegan food is actually super delicious. most people just don't know how to prepare vegan food because they think it's all salads and plain rice and stuff

I imagine some it can taste okay but uhhhh lets just say the hot dogs taste like what I imagine dogfood would taste like. Got some from my local foodbank and dear god. Had to all but force it down. Evidently i'm not the only one as they always have a box full of vegan stuff. Which probably means there is a lot being donated. Which also probably means hardly anyone around here buys that stuff.

How does that make sense? Isn't vegan meal a subset of normal meal?
Don't get me wrong, I don't have any issue with vegans. I eat meat but I also enjoy my veges, namool, kimchi or many other plant based food :)
But isn't veganism effectively just a restriction?

I’m not a vegan but eating vegan foods like the green curry is good with just potatoes, carrot and coconut milk.
Tofu is also best sub for meat. I like mine stir fried with french beans and mushrooms also with a splash of oysters sauce if I’m craving savoury

@@ellisk5977 I did tried beans, it's not enough for my high metabolism body. I eat rice everyday, well, I live in Asia. The vegan food is more expensive, not worth for my pay.

Why not Quorn? Its quite good. Fungally based. It's especially good at mimicking chicken. Quorn has been around since the 2000's in my home. But it typically used eggs in its recipe. There are vegan versions though. Beyond Beef is fine too. Vegan alternatives are easy to get where i'm from. Oat milk and such.

Sweden has alot of vegan alternatives. Almost every restaurant has vegan alternatives. Quorn is good. Oumph is good too. And plant beef.

Eastern side of the world often eats diet with majority of the plant based dish.
Even onigiri with pickled plum filling is already a vegan food there.
Or the famous indian curry
Or indonesian gado-gado(the best salad that truly a salad. 100% from plants but still delicious like a junk food. No cream).
Or chinese stir fry vegetables.
They're being vegan n vegetarian before the west ppl call it vegan n vegetarian

When The Vegan Society became a registered charity in 1979, the Memorandum and Articles of Association updated the definition of “veganism” as:
"A philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude-as far as is possible and practicable-all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment."
In that case, veganism isnt just a diet, its a movement for animals rights based opposition to all animal use by humans💚

I just don’t get the idea of a soy substitute for meat. Just eat falafel or tofu as is, bro. No need for all the synthetic stuff when cultures around the world have truly tasty plant proteins in dishes.
