@@ShadowAraun yeah some are fine but most of them are crazy, Fauna and her family are crazy. Deer freaked out over a fork that touched meat being used by Bae to make her a homemade vegan meal while in Japan. Most vegans are skitzo dramaqueens. Fauna and her parents went to a restaurant and ate an entire meal of meat, and LOVED IT(her own words, she's the one that told this story on stream), until the waiter ran up begging them not to eat it because they brought the wrong meal to their table on accident.

Reminding me of an internet story where a vegan customer ordered a vegan sub with mayo, unknowingly that mayo has egg white in it. The realization brought by the OP who works there shattered her reality.
There was this one story of someone vegan who had something from Chipotle under the misconception that it had no meat, until the official Twitter broke the news to him. You could practicality see the gears grinding to a halt and struggling to boot back up before he was like "......Oh... Well, damn... Okay, well, fuggit, time to go all in on this meat thing!"

I still have customers who dont know that the broccoli cheddar soup isnt vegetarian. Despite the menu pointing out what is vegetarian, but then again, our menus suck
You (Panera) also have lemonade with more caffeine than Red Bull does, but the labelling doesn't really indicate that it contains _any_ caffeine.
I struggle to think of anywhere that has notably better menus though, most don't have any indication of what is or is not vegetarian or even what is gluten-free.
@@GremlinSciences we do have labels but theyre not very apparent, the bubblers have "contains as much caffeine as or dark roast coffee" at the bottom, but eh. Low effort stuff, they need to improve, but for now i just do my best to inform people verbally rather than leave them to interpret things
@@nyx2889 At the bottom in small text, and if you actually know the safe consumption levels you'll find that a single large serving is almost 100% of the safe daily caffeine consumption (equivalent to about 12 cups of dark roast coffee). Some people sit there to work and go for refills 4-5 times on a large, shooting straight into cardiac arrest risk territory.
It's something that Panera needs to work on, but at least they aren't advertising things as gluten-free and then preparing them with the same cookware as dishes with lots of wheat gluten. (Celiac's nightmare, and frightfully common)
@supersamzero There is no connection between sugar and caffeine, you can drink your coffee straight out of the pot and it won't have any less caffeine than if you added 20kg sugar. No, they add caffeine to the lemonade the same way it gets added to cola, they extract or synthesize the caffeine and dump it in.
@@GremlinSciences Wtf really? I used to work at Panera as an overnight baker and I'd frequently drink the lemonade, if I had known it had caffeine in it I wouldn't have touched it.

This reminds me of the time when I had to teach a classmate that pork is meat from a pig. Granted, they knew it was meat, but they were convinced it was from a different animal.
That's why Chinese is a simple language. The Chinese word for beef simply means cow meat, the word for pork simply means pig meat, etc. No hiding corpses behind fancy words.

For those that don't know (this is just my understanding as an unrestrained omnivore), the difference dietarily between a vegan and a vegetarian is that a vegan doesn't eat any form of animal product. Hence, no dairy milk from things like cows or goats or real eggs from ducks or chickens, while vegetarians only avoid eating foods that are made from either the flesh and/or bone from animals, as stock is normally made by boiling the defleshed bones of whatever animal the stock is for before straining out those bones from the finished product. That's why vegans don't eat natural honey as bees count as animals and honey contain bee saliva.

Also there is two types of vegans. One is removed all Meat from their food including fish and other (all live-based) such as eggs. Other one have Milk, fish and eggs in their diet but NO Meat
Only the first type is vegan. The second is vegetarian, not vegan.
Edit: Actually if they eat fish they are not even vegetarian, they are pescatarian.

They should make it well known whats in the food though, some people have odd allergies. Having chicken stock in a meatless soup for example can throw people off. (I know someone who can't digest meat products)

She says chicken stock... I thought chicken stock was leftover liquid that you cooked chicken in (like broth). Doesn't that mean that the soup doesn't have chicken in it... just a chicken flavor?
I think (I don't know for sure. I'm a carnivore.) the reasoning is that consuming the broth is equivalent to eating the chicken that was used to make it.

as a Muslim I always am on the look out for pork in food products, and a handful of times the product name would be "crispy sicken sandwich" and there would be no mention of pork... until I look in the ingredient list. so, I totally get her

From what she has mentioned, it was vegetarian -> vegan -> rebellious omnivore at some point -> and now back to vegan.

I understand the want to be vegetarian and vegan, to remove yourself from the moral dilemma of having to kill to eat (even though plants also scream when injured), but as much as we as humans want to see ourselves as above animals, we are still animals, and part of nature. Just like other animals, we need to kill to survive.
That said, it should be done within restraint, and to give honor to the life taken so you may continue to live.
