That took place less than 24 hours after the video went viral. The news anchors even went so far as to say she was a Karen and was putting the lives of those five men in danger with her actions. A lot of people have deleted their videos and posts but very few have put out apologies, with some even doubling down. She has a strong defamation case as she is a private citizen and many went out of there way to say her full name, show her picture, mention her profession and place of work and call her racist outright. They didn't use 'allegedly' at all.
So what if they find our those receipts were altered...then what? With AI tech allowing people to make deep fakes of literally anything & even making music sound like anyone, it's hard to believe anything anymore. I don't believe either side personally but it's kinda hard to ignore she was fake crying & screaming help when nobody was physically hurting her AT ALL...thats what gets black kids unjustifiably shot. And why ask a complete stranger to help instead of the actual Police if they're jacking your bike that u paid to rent.

I am a Citi Bike Premium member and have used it daily at one point. Citi Bikes charge you to unlock a bike and then charge you by the minute. If you're a premium member then you don't get charged to unlock and bikes are free for 30 minutes. eBikes still charge you at the minute. The unlock price is around $4.50 (not 50c but some umber like 4.47) so the ~$9 charge means she unlocked it and put it back. If she had it unlocked for more than a minute then she would've been charged. She was charged $0 because she's a premium member which is why her receipt said she saved money. It also doesn't seem like they docked the bike during the video because the purple light was on the whole time. This doesn't bring me to a conclusion but here's more info for you all.

Nah I'm not buying it. Show the timestamps that the bike was rented. Even if she previously rented the bike, it was at $0.00 so clearly she didn't ride it. At best, it seems like she previously rented that bike, decided to use another one, rented the second one, and when it came time to go back to the bikes, she went back to the old one but it was already rented by the men who were there when the video was recorded. Even in the most charitable of situations, all this woman had to do was look at her phone and confirm the ID on the bike. Instead she made a big scene about it when she didn't have to at all. So I'm not buying the whole "its defamation because I rented this bike before" argument. It also doesn't make her being racist a lie. I am a Citi Bike Premium member and have used it daily at one point.
Citi Bikes charge you to unlock a bike and then charge you by the minute. If you're a premium member then you don't get charged to unlock and bikes are free for 30 minutes. eBikes still charge you at the minute. The unlock price is around $4.50 (not 50c but some umber like 4.47) so the ~$9 charge means she unlocked it and put it back. If she had it unlocked for more than a minute then she would've been charged. She was charged $0 because she's a premium member which is why her receipt said she saved money.
It also doesn't seem like they docked the bike during the video because the purple light was on the whole time.
This doesn't bring me to a conclusion but here's more info for you all.

Nah I'm not buying it. Show the timestamps that the bike was rented. Even if she previously rented the bike, it was at $0.00 so clearly she didn't ride it. At best, it seems like she previously rented that bike, decided to use another one, rented the second one, and when it came time to go back to the bikes, she went back to the old one but it was already rented by the men who were there when the video was recorded. Even in the most charitable of situations, all this woman had to do was look at her phone and confirm the ID on the bike. Instead she made a big scene about it when she didn't have to at all. So I'm not buying the whole "its defamation because I rented this bike before" argument. It also doesn't make her being racist a lie. At worst, she didn't have any bike rented at the time the men were there and just wanted them to back off and claim the bike for herself just because she used it before. Either way, it doesn't excuse her behavior at all.
