Question does this work on Java?
And glass.
I made a kelp farm to fuel a sugarcane farm and popped some furnaces on for glass. Then hoppered into maker blocks and x2 wide chests. Use the cartographers for emeralds and XP. Feed your leftovers to librarians to lock them into their trades.
Especially Mending librarians.
Might want to fence your village x2 high. I lost my mender to an Endermen hopping my fence with a block.
Big boom. Hiss cry. Lessoned learned.
Oh, and these double sand farms, make sure to leave x2 block high gap under the bottom row and you might want to run Redstone to open trap hole on top.
For some odd reason, the Redstone helps trigger growth of kelp and sugarcane.
As for the maker blocks, make sure you don't overfill your chests and watch the makers and turn them off at around 10. You'll end up getting a lot of sugar instead. Or your paper starts spewing all over the place.
I like the maker blocks, but there are some improvements to be made.
I give this farm some credit, though. Much more compact and better balanced.
The bonemeal is a pain. Put the Sugarcane bonemeal repeater on x2-3 ticks. Slow it down for better results.
Keep the kelp farm on x1 tick, though. As long as Redstone is on top it'll work.
I connected more composters to mine to speed up the bonemeal process. You want a row of x4 kelp, feeding x4-8 composters to x2 sugarcane. Composters are slow. The more the merrier.
Oh, and go look up a villager trade post. Those things farms are awesome. Just remember the trap doors above the job blocks so they don't escape when you reroll their tables or job trades. And you must have it on hard for villager to zombify. Dem da breaks if you want 1 emerald trades.
And instead of splash potions of weakness, you can grab some weakness arrows from your trial Chambers if you don't want to go to nether for fire rods to mix potions.
I love mending... But they tried to make it harder to obtain.

For those who are saying the kelp is breaking and the sand is half way falling the sticky piston that is sticking to the sand behind the composter prob broke thats why its not working replace it and it should prob work. like it pls i spent hours trying to fix the problem

I combined two of your other farms to make something similar to this a few weeks back, simply by connecting your bonemeal farm to your sugarcane farm then hooking the sugarcane farm up to a crafter. Glad to know I'm still using the best methods! Thanks JC, you're the GOAT

You want to run a comparator off it so it only gets a signal when it is "full".
Only nessissary in cases like this where a partially full crafter can produce an item.
...so keep that in mind if you're ever trying to set up your gold farm to compact into blocks, cuz you can slip up and have it break them down into pellets instead.

It's a beautiful and very efficient farm. If u need even more paper faster just build the same farm in the same chunk above or bellow (Stay in the chunk afk). I build 3 all above the other and it's working perfectly.

Farm works great! My only issue is the sugar cane not going into the hopper and getting stuck on the sand. I just lowered the retrieval section and now it’s perfect. Thank for the tutorial!
How did you manage to lower the retrieval?
@@drewbailey704 lowered the crafter and the whole paper mechanism set up. Instead of using sand I used dirt with a mine cart and hopper to filter the sugar cane to the crafter, and just made a water source next to the dirt block. I actually liked it because now I used slabs to make a floor and hide the set up.
Works perfectly! Me and my mate built this in 10 minutes.

Attention everyone if your farm isn't working you built it on a chunk border. CHECK BEFORE YOU BUILD IT. I had to check because mine wasn't working and rebuild the whole thing😂 he shoukd have said so at the beginning of the video but regardless jc is amazing great farm.
At what part of this farm doesn’t need to be within the chunk border ? Because the farm works but it isn’t producing bonemeal

FIX FOR CRAFTER ISSUE IN THIS FARM:
If anyone is wondering why when there are 2 sugarcane in the crafter that is making paper and when you restart it no crafting happens as the crafter is activated with the Redstone to early (at two sugarcane) this is done for speed so that it can make paper faster but the fix is to hookup the second crafter with ALL 9 SLOTS cancelled out. Just a little fix you might want to know.
I am going to build a variant of this with bamboo and make a wood/chest farm that can be turned on and off depending on needs. Thanks

You know, with the crafter, you can make automatic pumpkin pie farm if youre interested in it.
I already have the old design which is still effective it may not be the best for space but it's still effective

Sir, I think my repeater doesn't work, my crafter stop working because the repeater don't repeatedly blink like it suppose to. Can you explain me why? And also my crafter before, crafts sugar, it doesn't wait till the slots fill-out with sugarcanes.

Remember if you have a chunk lined up you can make this farm as long as you can inside the chunk and can fill about 3-4 in a chunk and connect the crafter with simple red stone and hoppers

Hey, I just wanted to ask a question. Does the farm operate differently on a server?
Instead of connecting the kelp farm to the sugarcane farm, i used his skeleton xp farm and funneled the bones into the bonemeal crafter instead. Free afk xp, bones, sugarcane AND paper, mind you it will all have to be made underground..
Somehow i found it more efficient to not add the signs next to the kelp.
What is the second crafter for too? I dont understand.

Its always breaking for me but i built it in 1 chunk every other tutorial of Jc Plays worked really well

So you could use this same basic design for a stick farm too. Replace the sugarcane with bamboo. I suppose they would have to get turned into the bamboo blocks first but yeah.
So my question is this though. What’s the logic behind the auto crafters? I get that it’s comparing the number of items in the chest, but is setting it that way telling it to specifically choose a slot in the crafting list?

I highly recommend using mud above the hopper for the sugarcane. The drops will pull through better and sugarcane loves mud.
Mud is easy. Dirt block + water bottle = mud block.
For those of you making terracotta, you should know that you can make clay by putting mud above dripstone into water basins. Furnace the clay, terracotta.

As for sugarcane farms, the more composters the better. While this is very compact, I'd go bigger on your bonemeal farm section. Double chest it out and put as many composters to feed your sugarcane dispenser faster/more. I ran a kelp farm into a double sugarcane farm. Feeding the dispenser bonemeal is crucial.
The more composters the better.
And if you build this in a village, villagers will connect to your composters and they will feed them potatos. This confuses the hoppers and might slow them down, but they still compost into bonemeal. So the farmers are harmless. 😉
(Gets them all excited. They love my auto farm and hang out around the sugarcane machine all the time. I got tired of killing librarians for mending and built a trader post. Might want to look into that if you need a paper farm.)

i’ve rebuilt it like 3 times it’ll produce 1 kelp and then the kelp stops growing. i’ve checked my work and it still seems to not be working any fixes?
Same here, I let my kelp grow and turned it on and it won’t grow unless I let it sit turned off
