There is nothing unprofessional about the way the policeman is acting. In Barbados, if you do something stupid, you get a lecture. As much as I like the excitement of the music on the minibuses, I don't condone the reckless behavior. The driver is lucky all he got away with was a stern tongue lashing, he could have killed himself or someone else. I am also glad that tourists are able to see that Barbados police officers have a back bone and do not skylark. If more people in Barbados were like him taking a stand against wrong doing, Barbados would not be in the position it is in now.
The police dont have the right to make everyone get off that bus. The bus was not overloaded. If i was the driver the police couldnt have done that to me.if he was going to report me then do that but he cant make my passengers get off the bus
Did u know that they at times bait the red light even though the light is green? Especially if they trying to spite another minibus that is behind them in traffic? They would sit there rolling slowly when the light is green, then it hits amber then when it's about to turn red they drive off. Leaving traffic to wait until the light cycle turns green again. Seen this countless times.
it is kinda embarrassing that you guys had to see this...but the secret is out....they do alot of foolishness on our roads and when they have to be corrected it is an issue....however....they are SOME that dont even think you should get your money back.....ive been in that position before
That would have been $1.50 (per head) plus cost of fuel, as a loss during that run. Plus the additional loss for having to stay put with the officer, and losing more fares going to his other ZR competitors on the same route. The officer told him straight' I don't want to see that kinda thing on the road again."
The policeman is doing his Job and for those of you who don't live in Barbados but just visit, some of the Mini-Bus/ ZR drivers of Barbados are a HAZARD not only to passengers but to other road users with their blatant IGNORANT and reckless driving. The policeman might have needed to be a bit more professional in his conduct but having ridden on to many ZR's and Minibuses there had to have been a reason he was stopped.
The punishment was not meant for the passengers/tourist it was for the driver since he'll have to refund all those people their money. Bear in mind those ZR vehicles must earn a certain level of revenue per day in order to turn a profit. By taking away his entire full load of riders that is a painful financial lesson for the minibus driver.
@sincpara - don't misunderstand babes....... I was laughing as in a joking way......... when you travel on the buses everyday and no matter what you say, no one pays attention?..... well..... when the police jack them up like they are little children, it feels DAMN GOOD..... Bajan responds by laughing at such things........ it's what we call ..."Dah fuh lick yah!"...........
@ralphsteadey He said something about the driver did something a first time, then he did something else a second time, then I don't want to see that again on the road. So he said I gon' teach you a lesson, everybody get out.... I don't blame The Royal Barbados Police Force though....
@kratos20113 If you are of the opinion that because he is a bajan, and that it is not indecent to them, You should have heard the rash of bajans phoning on the radio call in programme to express their disgust and indicating he should NOT be in that job !
My only regret is that the police don't stop more of these van drivers when they play the fool on the roads. This officer deserves a medal for standing up to this driver. Van drivers get away with too much reckless driving.
My man there is professional and then there is unprofessional. The action of the driver is the reason why the police pulled him over in the first place. The behaviour of the officer in the presence of a bus load of people is absolutely rediculous. If you see that as acceptable then I guess that is standard and normal in your books I guess.
i agree with the cop thou..but damnn he getting on like he about to fight he need to act more professional for a lawman its not like the driver was giving him backchat
Some of those drivers like to de bare foolishness on the road and then they feel it is laughing sport.... So the police officer made them learn the hard way, by costing them a whole bus load of fares.....
@ralphsteadey I doubt race played a part. The point wasn't to punish passengers pun the minibus it was to financially sanction the driver because he has to pay those people's fares back. Also they have to earn x-amount per trip (a day) or they lose money. So to lose a full bus-load of people that's going to hit the driver hard and he'll think twice before so readily breaking the road laws again. Who knows how long he had to stand there with that police officer thereby costing more time and $.
LOVELY!!! loveliness I say!............. this so going viral in barbados, because 90% of the time the posts are about school kids fighting, fights in the ghetto & cutsie tourist vids about "ooo look at the water! ooo look at the monkey, oooo look at the ..."........... relieving to see this................ btw camera man, this is tame compared to the usual......LMAO! (wuh-gawrsh I can stop laughing)
_"I gine teach you a lesson. All o' wunna get out."_
Hahaha. Love it.
ort den hehehehehehe
Damn, that cop looked pissed!

TdotSoul I wish it would happen more often everyday.
At least Bajan cops don't regularly shoot you for driving your car or being in your house sitting down and then claim it was the wrong house

I remember being in one watching the light turn red and the driver just kept going thru them

@Girlztime, Two thumbs up !!! You're absolutely right.

@kratos20113 If you are of the opinion that because he is a bajan, and that it is not indecent to them, You should have heard the rash of bajans phoning on the radio call in programme to express their disgust and indicating he should NOT be in that job !
They are talking too fast! =( What did the bus driver do?
He ran a stop light.
What van is this
That Policeman needs to learn how to conduct himself.."All Wunna get out!" as though the passengers are hogs
My only regret is that the police don't stop more of these van drivers when they play the fool on the roads. This officer deserves a medal for standing up to this driver. Van drivers get away with too much reckless driving.
