I was a big fan of Triple D back in the day, but then I found out that Guy Fieri is homophobic. After that, I lost my respect for him. In a world of cancel culture, I don’t know why it hasn’t caught up to him yet.
Not sure if anyone remembers it, but Guy's Grocery Game reminds me of that classic game show named Supermarket Sweep .. minus the cooking at the end of course.
Having worked with, for and amongst some of these celebrity chefs, i have to say Chef Fieri is one of the kindest and most humble people I've met. Buordain on the other hand, well if I cant say anything nice...
Bourdain was a f.-up alcoholic and drug user who mostly worked brunch lines before he switched to entertainment TV. His suicide was a result of his unhealthy lifestyle. Ironically, he always had this pose on his shows how he is an arbiter of taste in rock&roll, but what he liked was predominantly 3-chord punk rock.
Guy uses his fame and popularity to raise money and support for a lot of worthy causes. He cooked food (that he donated) for firefighters in California's wildfires. He supports small business restaurants and restaurant workers, both financially and by encouraging public support. He donates to young people looking for careers in the food industry. I've never heard him say anything mean or nasty about anyone. Can't say any of that about Bourdain.
That's their problem---Mom & Pops shouldn't exist in their world. They spent a lot of time and money on fancy schools instead of learning the practical way so they have to denigrate others in order to project superiority.
I’m not a fan of the man but damn…so much hate for someone who enjoys what he does, while showcasing other restaurants. He helped put a couple places on the map in Colorado.
I’m surprised how negative the overall tone of the comments are. Guy Fieri certainly isn’t for everyone but the publicity he gave small restaurants in DDD helped a lot of people.
It’s pretty obvious which side of the industry takes exception to Guy- real chefs (or at least those who grinded to greater pastures through their culinary careers). As a tv personality Guy might be corny but he’s very affective and has helped countless businesses. But as a chef/restauranteur he’s widely considered as a joke, kind of a culture vulture. I always loved when Anthony would take jabs at him (RIP ❤)
The main appeal of Fieri to me is his quick wit and joking around. He also knows how to pick his Triple D restaurants in a competent way - with a little help from his staff of course. I haven't yet been to a Dallas-Ft. Worth eatery his show visited that I didn't consider excellent. If you don't like him, do the same with the Triple D restaurants in the area where you live. I'm sure many of you will change your mind about his ability to pinpoint worthy food establishments that are not snobbish or cost an arm and a leg.
I had a customer tell me he hated Guy and called him a D.bag. I was shocked and asked why. He said Guy was demanding his car be guarded. I still like Guy. 👍
You people can say what you want about guy, but if he wasn't anygood the food network would get rid of him. The man has done a lot for people outside of his programs. He has helped people that has been on his shows with medical, and money issues. To me thats a real person folks.
@@OleensEmbroidery The Italian rolled “r” often sounds like “t”. Sorry, but they say it correctly. Remember, he changed his name to Fieri. Pretty much as phony as his entire boring schtick.

He had an episode on a chili joint in Renton, Wa. Said nothing but high praise, pure BS. I was aquatinted with the bowel of greasy slop not fit for dogs to eat. Never watched another episode.
GF had a restaurant in NYC called "Guy's American Restaurant & Bar." Sorry to throw shade, but the food came cold, the chicken was rubbery & lacked service.
