not me having just used this war to grind out an FM and 4 generals to Rank 2 whilst still finishing the war on time ...and still watching this wondering if i missed anything
I decided to drag myself into hoi after having it for like 4 or 5 years and only playing it a handful of times but dropping it because I didn't really understand or wanna play it. I did end up grinding and having my friends help me but I did eventually get the hang making Ethiopia capitulate but it's always late enough that they don't fully surrender. There is still a ton of stuff that I'm gonna need to understand and get down and that will hopefully come with practice and just playing for hundreds of hours.
@@carthagegamingstudios I think you gave some pretty good tips but either I'm not following well enough or my micro is trash because the war never goes well for me. I've only had them capitulate once and I think it's when I had historical ai off, I'm not sure if I'm really gonna keep playing besides booting it up to see what stupid things happen.
@@EbolaWantsAhug It took me 100 hours to get a hang of the game. Ethiopia specifically is a great place to practice micro, and there's a bunch of different strategies to do this. My strategy is a lot sloppier than Carthage's, but Its a lot quicker to set up and usually ends up working if I micro properly. Things like that you can't get from youtube videos, just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.
@@EbolaWantsAhug You don't need to micro at all, really. Just ignore the War Escalation entirely and send over your Mountaineers for the Eritrean army and everything else to the Somalian army. Then send your whole airforce down, split between the two fronts to provide air support to both armies. Then it's just a matter of drawing a battleplan and hitting go. If you're really worried about time, make sure to start building a railway from the port in Eritrea towards Aussa so you can immediately hook up the Supply Hub and keep grinding. Once you link up the two armies, delete existing orders and then Shift Click a Field Marshal front line and send your guys off to march. This way will get you more general experience too.
Tutorials like this are very good and fun
Honestly, they're the most fun videos to make. Unfortunately, they get barely any views. Glad you liked it.

Lol. Remember before BBA and just letting to war grind on forever to level up generals?
@@carthagegamingstudiosthat was a part of why they introduced the escalation mechanic.

Let me know if this strategy guide helps you and if not what I could improve.
