I use rubber heat shrink tubing on my S carabiners, bow pull up hook, and my hys strap hooks. It seems to work a bit better then stealth strips for those tiny areas to cover the bare metal.
The spray paint I use is Rustoleum Camouflage series, and black is in nature, shadows, tree trunks, just not shiny...lol 😂 The felt tape is a great idea for the buckles that I haven't used yet, so thank you for that. Love what ya'll are doing ❤
Y’all should do a video showing different ways to set the m2 up for saddle hunting , that’s a huge selling point that’s makes that purchase diverse for two different seasons
For blood tracking, i cant recommend a blacklight flashlight more. It doesnt make blood “glow” but it paints the ground that blacklight purple, which causes even tiny blood spots to really really stand out as red. Also, a thousand lumen flashlight for blood tracking is great too, especially with a forest canopy overhead. When its that bright you can shine it above youre head, and the light bouncing off the leaves above you will illuminate 10-15 yards around you
Man jon I’ve been away from the channel for awhile after watching ya from your roots in crystal lake fishing three oaks and seeing you with a family is just something ❤️ best wishes congrats on the wedding and a beautiful girl
I really enjoy all of your videos. Watched the last one about the haters comments y’all read, keep doing what you do. It’s not about the kill or how big a buck you kill it’s about the camaraderie with friends and family. Y’all seem to have a blast getting ready for season and also on every hunt. Y’all have a great thing going , enjoy every minute.
If you have any significant current or depth in a river using something loose like contractor bags is a recipe for problems, in that scenario you want as little material around your legs as possible so as not to be swept by current.
I use a shortened trail camera strap to hold my sticks together. Works great! Oh yeah, throwing a metal garbage can is a MUST when replicating a drill sergeant waking up troops!
Yall make great content. I worked on TV shows, with more b content than actual footage. Wont name them, but its refreshing to see yall making real time vids. Hunt on my hunting brothers. I love your ground hunts for whitetail. I primarily hunt the ground setups with bow. My closest one on the wall was 6yds. I have 8 under 10yds, on the wall. Hunt on, let's gooo
I glued on Siliconed Clothe guarding anything that would ding. Silicone on a little Leaf for Camo and Sound Suppression. Siliconed the Release. Those can be a real downer when they Dink.
You can always use your boot also if you wear leather boots as I do. Be surprised how many ppl actually never knew this but if it’s a skinning knife believe it or not you can literally run it in the palm of your hand a bunch of times and it works the same exact way to get the blade super sharp! Heck I’ll run my knife every so often on my hand like that and it will literally sharpen it back up without running it on a stone.
Are you guys gonna go over how you have your m2 vests setup for turkey, after hunting with them for a while? Any added pockets, water bottle pouches, etc.?
Ted check out the voile straps for securing your sticks much better that what you have and will tighten as hard as you can pull all different colors and sizes
For lights to i like the mtn bike light if ya get the cheep ones with the bigger battery pack ya get hrs of light and thousand of lumens for tracking and only 10 15 buck keep then im my trucks for break diwns all the time
I have those rubber wire ties on the side of my saddle and have my sticks twisted up in them so as I climb the tree my sticks are on my side and it’s super quiet too!
Big fan of THP from WA State. As I watch this video in the later part about the video light you suggest for blood tracking and what not, I can't help it but suggest the Wally world product "Hyper Tough". They're bright as hell and can also be used as a power bank, and has different settings. Mine is 1000 lumens, but another model of the same size is even 1200 lumens. They're dirt cheap compared to the video light you showed. I've had mine for several years now and it keeps charge and also charges fast. I carry mine in my pack all the time. Just keepin it simple and cheap for the common citizen. Thanks for all your vids.
You guys need to get a "Limb-Bender " limb grappling hook and show it on your video. One of the best accessories I've seen. I don't go hunting without 2 or three in my bag!
I got the worksharp elete kit for mine I use to use one of those jigs before I got that. Let me tell you the worksharp kit is a game changer, and it's portable cones with its own little very neat case
Teds Shirt should be a gear tip!! That thing looks like it could call in booners all on its own!! I'm gonna need to know even more about that M2 badboy!! I live on the west coast so I've been trying to convert my exo to a similar system but it just required too many straps!
Heat shrink tubing works best for rest forks/launchers. The release SS is freaking crucial! It is the one damn thing that is guaranteed to clink on everything close to it!
Cool thing on the strip thing, back when I started shooting bow, we used a product called MOLE SKIN PROPERLY BASICALLY THE SAME THING BUT THATS BEEN 3O YEARS AGO LOL LOVE YOUR SHOW. GOOD HUNTING, SHOOT STRAIGHT.
I have a cool gear hack. You put a section of wood to be split on top of a big stump so your axe or splitting maul doesn't get dull from hitting the dirt. Lol
Like the new ideas. We do still have a headlamp in our pack but for blood trailing we now use a Samyoung camping light and get a cheap bino harness and strap it to our chest. Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next vid
Really enjoy these off-season how-to videos
Show and Tell.. I love it. I like getting prepared for the hunt almost as much as I do hunting. All part of the process.
I use rubber heat shrink tubing on my S carabiners, bow pull up hook, and my hys strap hooks. It seems to work a bit better then stealth strips for those tiny areas to cover the bare metal.
I've watched this video like 110,000 times and it just doesn't get old.
Love the magnet hack for the rangefinder 👍👍
Thanks for sharing the wisdom
This is a big reason I watch THP. I love the breakdown videos. You don't see that on a lot of channels.
Anyone else that can’t wait for this summer heat to be over and hunting to begin?!
Would love to see y’all do a public land challenge in the southern Ohio hills, by far my favorite group of hunters!!
The spray paint I use is Rustoleum Camouflage series, and black is in nature, shadows, tree trunks, just not shiny...lol 😂 The felt tape is a great idea for the buckles that I haven't used yet, so thank you for that. Love what ya'll are doing ❤

Tshirt with the owl on it is badass. Buying one now lol

I was thankful Greg had those lights. That night in Nebraska!!!
U guys are so awesome. I love watching THP videos. It must be amazing hunting with a group of friends who are passionate about hunting. Love it guys!
Thanks for all of the tips! I watch you guys all the time!
Love the spray paint hack. So many guys want to look cool with the fancy bow finishes but just look at a navy seals rifle and optics. Spray painted
Great tips! I use Romex to tie everything down. Just like gear ties.
Man jon I’ve been away from the channel for awhile after watching ya from your roots in crystal lake fishing three oaks and seeing you with a family is just something ❤️ best wishes congrats on the wedding and a beautiful girl

These are some of the best videos! I really like watching DIY set up videos!
If you have any significant current or depth in a river using something loose like contractor bags is a recipe for problems, in that scenario you want as little material around your legs as possible so as not to be swept by current.
Thanks THP for the steath strip info.never thought about it till you'll brought it up.
Does this tape help with the angry Karen screaming at the public land entrance 😂
I use a shortened trail camera strap to hold my sticks together. Works great!
Oh yeah, throwing a metal garbage can is a MUST when replicating a drill sergeant waking up troops!
Ted- First Lite has suspenders I use to keep my saddle up during long treks as I do not carry any junk on the backside.
beast sticks for a saddle .. dan infalt just had a heart attack 😂
I use the rubber coated wire on the pull rope for my bow on my stand. quick and no knots you have to worry about coming untied.

You all should add links or references to where we can get the things referenced in yoir video description. Thanks!

On your bows, Did you switch out the string sliders for rollers on thr adapt plus?
First gear hack is to keep a sharpening puck around for when you decide to split logs on the ground and bury your axe head in the dirt lol
You guys have great content. None better.
Look at the very first line in the transcript.
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love these videos! Super helpful and really get the brain going on how to be better out there. Thanks guys.
Ever thought about using a one stick? I’d say it’s a great step to having a light portable setup
Yes and Nitize makes the buckle straps now too that work great. Quicker than the rubber ties.
Do you think a chalk line would be strong enough for a coffee and or gun? Or them long tape measures?
You guys are a happy bunch of tweekers. 😊
Thanks for the tips guys!
The gear ties are amazing but it need the straps, they are much stronger and lighter.
Night ize gear strap
For lights to i like the mtn bike light if ya get the cheep ones with the bigger battery pack ya get hrs of light and thousand of lumens for tracking and only 10 15 buck keep then im my trucks for break diwns all the time

The contracting bags is an amazing idea. Way better than hip boots. This is why I love u guys. Amazing hunters!
I got the worksharp elete kit for mine I use to use one of those jigs before I got that. Let me tell you the worksharp kit is a game changer, and it's portable cones with its own little very neat case

Do you have the link for the rangefinder retracker?
Teds Shirt should be a gear tip!! That thing looks like it could call in booners all on its own!!
I'm gonna need to know even more about that M2 badboy!! I live on the west coast so I've been trying to convert my exo to a similar system but it just required too many straps!
Micheal waddel has a awesome range finder tech tip I love it use it a lot and have converted all my buddies to it

When you put those gear ties around your predator pack and sticks. How do you attach your sticks to the predator pack? Before the gear ties on
I use a harbor freight 25ft retractable dog leash for my bow hoist. It’s like $6
What brand are those pants (12:04)
I have a cool gear hack. You put a section of wood to be split on top of a big stump so your axe or splitting maul doesn't get dull from hitting the dirt. Lol
actually you can use the top edge of your vehicle window to put the final edge on a broadhead or knife blade.
You can get those diamond plates from stay sharp.
Where did you buy the over shoe hip waders?
Ol Jake has split a load of wood or two in his day
Can you please give a link for the waders you use? Thanks
Will you PLEASE tell me where you got the retractable lanyard for the rangefinder.
Amazon
Can you drop that link for the retractable cord on your range finder
This is helpful. Would love to know what everyone is shooting. Arrows, broadheads, bows etc
Are yall going to whitetail tn this year. If so yall need to do Prentice Cooper Wma
What brand is teds wind up rope strap? They used to make snappers that were like that but were discontined
I'm pretty sure they sell that exact one at Cabella's.
I like to put some stealth strip on my arrow shafts. Really cuts down on noise in flight!
Is this a joke? Seriously I am curious
Here an old timers trick, use a oil wick lantern to trail vlood, the blood pretty much glows
Like the new ideas. We do still have a headlamp in our pack but for blood trailing we now use a Samyoung camping light and get a cheap bino harness and strap it to our chest. Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next vid
Where do you get the lite weight waders?

How do u get smell spray paint off ur stuff
How about a spray on can of Rhino Liner sprayed on the climbing sticks for "Clang Control"?? 🙂
What is the difference between Mole Skin and Stealth Strips other than the camo pattern?
Where did you get the double bull elk tee at? I likes it!😊
12:40 Oh damn, Aaron's address!! Zoom in! Zoom in!!
The only thing that's black in the woods are pine trees while it is raining!
What’s a big battery? What size for hours & hours tracking and a 89 yard gut shot 😮💨
I know you guys have done this in the past. But could ya’ll please go through and break down submitting for hunts out west!? Please 🙏
Blue light is perfect for blood
Black is everywhere in the woods.
Jake do you need money for new pants 😂😂😂
Best hack is to get a Drone and find out where the deer are early morning and slip in down wind.
I found the light, anyone have a part number for the batteries? I need to upgrade my lighting.
Question: Those packs don’t seem big enough to pack out a quartered deer. What’s your usual routine for getting your deer out the woods?
We also have frame packs that are equipped separately for processing in the field
@@TheHuntingPublic do you leave those in the truck until needed or do you use them while hunting?
Were do i het the m2 hunting pack
I use my belt for a leather strap to take the bure of a blade.
What kind of bag was that collapsible bird bag??
That's the M2 Turkey vest that THP partnered up with Tethrd to create. They sell it on both of their sites.
