    What else should I make a handle out of? 🤔
    Make sure to check out the VEVOR Furnace, links in the description + a code for 5% off! I was seriously impressed by its performance!

      You can always try some fossil ivory or inlay fossilized wood.

      Could try having some stingray leather on the grip.

      Missed oppertunity to make a swordfish the handle, but maybe thats a bigger blade needed?

    As a 59 year old dad, you've probably made your dad cry. What an amazing gift.
    Absolutely beautiful work. Thank you from all the dads out here in YTland.

    Hi, great work! Have you ever thought making Corvo folding blade? I imagine its hard to accomplish in real life but to be fair I thought retractable katana wouldn't be possible but here you are.

    That came out wonderfully, I really love how angry the fishy ended up looking. Also that Kydex leather combination is brilliant. I think I'm going to steal that idea for a custom holster for a pistol that I own that's been a royal pain to find a reasonably priced off the shelf one for, thanks.

    I also use my propain tank smelter as an oven usually while warming it up for melting my handle materials. I figure why waist gas. Great knife idea my father definitely wants one now.

    Nice knife and I love your editing. tbh i find the eagle to look a little bit goofy, i think it would look better with rougher edges (it had more character right after belt grinding). But i really dig the fish, the whole knife has really balanced, pleasant to look at shape. I kinda liked how the fish looked straight out of the mold though, with all of the metal "imperfections". I wonder if its possible to preserve at least some of this look while cleaning up. Im an artist so im a little bit picky, dont take the criticism too seriously. You're doing awesome work.

    • @redbark823
      @redbark823 ปีที่แล้ว

      at 6:40, there was a nice contrast between the rough and the polished part, something like that would be cool (the all shiny look does work for the fish tho)

    • @NjordArtisan
      @NjordArtisan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey no worries, I’m always open to criticism when it’s politely put like you did
      I totally get what you mean, I also think the eagle looks a bit odd because the beak ended up being way too big because of all the regrinding I did. But it was also a balance between what looks good and feels right in the hand. A smaller beak would’ve left the sharp tip right where your pinky should be so I decided to go with comfortability over looks.
      And I’m also right with you on the look of the freshly casted scales. I actually wanted to keep it like that but they ended up being absurdly heavy so I had to grind them down as well.
      Maybe I’ll file the wooden scales down and try to cast them again
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! 🙌

    It looks fantastic! Your creativity knows no bounds :D
    One quick thing though, you said it's a fishing knife, did you mean filleting knife or just general use fishing knife? Just curious because filleting knifes are usually somewhat thin bendy to allow efficient use. None the less it looks beautiful

    • @NjordArtisan
      @NjordArtisan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes a fishing knife set. This one is the fillet knife. It turned out a bit bigger but I really like the look and it’s tempered to be very flexible 👌🏻

      @NjordArtisan  ปีที่แล้ว
