Saw the video, bought the loom, also bought the Garmin Mini 2 in your video due to its small size. Fitted today in time for a fair bit of driving tomorrow and it was very simple. Now Simon, i just need you to work out a similar loom to mount another Mini 2 to the rear window.
Yes every time we did it out i am amazed at how good this car looks for a 10 year old car - the design still feels very current. Although i might tease him from time to time old Gerry did a really good job with the Evoque !

@@L663 yes the evoque with carplay and I dont need to upgrade the car, excellent video with the camera, tempted to buy, but I would like something with better specs and dual front camera (in-out)
I’d position it down in the swept area behind the rear view mirror so that it isn’t seen at all by the driver. I’ve got a similar type but cylindrical GoLuk and a couple of Ddpai dashcams in my personal vehicles and they work a treat.
Love the video and very keen on this idea but when I take my loom out there is NO definitive solid GREEN or BLACK wires! i have a 2013 Range Rover Evoque - any advice please?
Hi Simon. I have a 2016 Evoque with the later design console but can only see early type on website. Are there any looms available for the later type? Thank you.
Hi Simon. Great videos I'm about to install a dash cam in my mother's Evoque with a hardwire kit which fuse would you recommend to piggy back from for a permanent live feed. I've seen many different answers and some saying that the fuse 52 isn't always live but others say it is 🤷♂️. Thanks
Hello Simon, thank you for excellent video and detailed explanation, I would like order loom for Range Rover Evoque, but it’s showing out of stock on ur website, could u please let me know when this will be back in stock? Thank you
Great Evoque video thank you Simon. That will make it the easiest dashcam install ever👍 Any chance of a “how to” guide to replace those pesky aluminium steering rack bolts on the N613 recall, before they fail…. Please ?
Ah i need to update the website - you can use any of these www.powerfuluk.com/search?q=ewl201&options%5Bprefix%5D=last or any from the Evoque2 part of our website.
Hi I know my question is nothing to do with this video But where is the connection for the front heater screen right hand side as mine is not working (left side is working and clears) hope you can help me Thanks Kev
Hi i have just fitted this to my Discovery Sport. Works a treat even though my overhead console is slightly different as it has the switch for the pano roof. Looking forward to fitting on to the FL2 when it comes out. Great job guys👍
Hello Simon. Can you use the wiring loom on a Freelander 2? Drawing wires, many years ago we had a metal wire to pull wires from one end of a vehicle to the other, we could pull wires though the open gaps in the roof support beams. Good to have. Merry Christmas to everyone.
thanks for the series of videos on dash cam installation. Any chance for a Freelander 2 video or loom given that I think that the FL2 has a radically different wiring set up on the overhead console.
OK we have this worked out - there are 2 evoque overhead console - the early one where you can update the bulbs - and the late one with the LED bulbs that you cannot change ! You have to get the correct loom to suit the overhead console - I am revising the website now..
@@L663 Brilliant, cheers. Both suitable looms seem to be out of stock though? Looking for EWL760 or EWL201. Not sure what overhead console I have, I have a 2017 plate.

Hi Simon, would be good to get these for the L359. In fact I'm surprised with the similarities between the two that the Evoque one wouldn't fit the FL2?
No the Freelander 2 is different - much simpler with spade connectors - i have the connectors for the Freelander 2 and will get working on the prototype soon
Yeh echo others' enstiments, love the videos. Purchased this kit off you for my Evoque 2014 Dynamicnd arrived yesterday. Installed first go, dashcam perfect so USB power side working, but error on screen 'SOS System Limited Functionality', uninstalled and it went away. Re-installed and it came back - plus, the microphones for the phone/handsfree system seem to fail because no-one can hear me talk on a call, but I can hear them. Assumedly not a coincidence as the SOS functionality likely to route via your phone for the call I guess - any ideas? Can't install it if I have no handsfree function and the warning symbol constantly on the dash is plain annoying!
Hi Justin - OK we need to look at this it could be interference from the USB converter. Can you try and remove the fuse and see if the errors are there - this would indicate that it is the USB converter causing some problems. If there is still a fault with the fuse removed this indicates a wiring issue. I will email you directly to work with you on this. Simon
@@L663 First to reiterate, what simply awesome service - can't fault your approach or any of your videos! OK so we have some tinkering to do - God loves a tinkerer. I will get to it in the next couple of hours and see where we go - be interesting to tackle the problem and find a solution. Aside from the connectors, I have access to ample supply of automotive cable, fuses and sufficient soldering skill in case it gets interesting!
Hi Paul - we are watching the sales figures on the velar and the sales are not too bad so we need to look at the Velar soon although it is still quite expensive !
Hi Simon. I notice the overhead console part number for Evoque and Discovery Sport is same (LR096478) which would suggest that your dashcam install kit should fit both.. can you confirm? Happy to try it for you.
Hi - yes i have just checked and you are indeed correct the PN are the same for the Evoque 1 / Evoque 2 and Disco Sport so from this it would be fair to say this is compatible. What we do to test these looms is as follows 1 - Check voltages on wire 2 - short the power to ground to see which fuse blows and check car still works after 3 - Check no impact on radio reception ( possible EMC interference ) Now i do not suggest you do items 1 and 2 but you could check item 3 for us ! The current loom for the Evoque only gives 12v ignition and ground - we are working on a V2 looms to give 12v battery power too - these are in production now. Contact the office via website and I will send you an evoque loom to test on your car -
