    I have the Mini 2 in each of my vehicles. I though, mounted it across the cabin on the A Pillar facing across the cabin and out the driver side door. I want to record the police when I am pulled over. I tested it with a friend. Its perfect. Voice command to start recording. And picks up sound like you are standing in front of it. Love it.

    Thank you Michael for this information. Like most people I've been researching the beans out of dashcams and & I keep coming back to the GM2. My perfect DC would be 1440p, no screen & under $100. Excellent video. 😀

    I got a 67W and mini 2 and as of a few weeks ago when I got them, they do support multiple SSIDs. I have it attached to our home wi-fi and also the vehicle's wi-fi when away.

    Sounds like parking mode on the mini 2 is limited to impacts only. Bought a 1 for the motion trigger alone

    For an inside view how about placing the Mini 2 mount on the back of the mirror? It’s not ideal if you move your mirror but it may be an option.

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would work. Here's the thing with using the Mini 2. At night, it's not going to see anything unless its lit. There are no lights emitted from the mini 2 (infrared or LED).

    Can you attach it to rear windshield instead of front? Need this also for security in my driveway to view my porch ....please advise? Greatly appreciated 😊

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I have two on the sides facing out from inside windows and one setup for the rear. When my car is parked in the driveway of course I have extra surveillance coming in from the car and surrounding the car.
      For the porch if you need true wireless notification Blink amzn.to/3MPQMBJ systems work well, but if you expect a lot of activity you will want a hardwired system of some sort. I personally am enjoying the Google Nest Cam system, also wireless but smarter in notification (detects people, recognizes faces, etc if you pay a subscription. amzn.to/3xlcJDa. Also the speaker and microphone are decent to communicate with people on the porch. If it is dark in your patio, add a motion detector light separately.

  • @bulldogberry

    • @MikeMu

      Facing rear straight out. Then rear side windows, behind the 2nd row, facing outward (of a SUV).

    One thing I would add is don’t plug your mini into a computer usb on first attempt to pair. Use a wall outlet, otherwise it won’t go into pairing mode. By connecting to your computer via usb it’s in automatic download mode. (Flashing green lights)

    Excellent video. I'm trying to figure out if the 56 would be compatible with the new 57 and 67. I have a Jeep Wrangler and I want to have a Garmin mounted on the roll bar facing backwards. I was going to use the 56 for the front and buy a 67W to get that wider angle for the rear doors and back of the Jeep. The ne 57 andc67 has wifi and I dont know how the 56 would integrate. I hate selling stuff after a year owning it.

    • @MikeMu

      Garmin has a decent chart, and unfortunately you won't be able to do the live view integration: support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=K5Kkj7NNG59OMjVi1NwIl5

      @@MikeMu thanks for the reply. I started looking at the Thinkware M1 Motorsport. Since the Jeep has a soft top in the summer and hard top in the winter an external dash cam maybe more suitable. Since the Garmin I have basically does not offer anything special ie wifi, I might as well look at a second brand of dashcam.

    Thank you for the informational video. I have just purchased Garmin 67W and Mini 2 and am now trying to figure out the best way to power up the two. How are you powering your multicam setup? I wonder if some other manufacturer's power battery, such as Blackboxmycar Powercell 8, would work with Garmin's dash cams.

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I use an external power pack with USB out. The lasts a few days. Anker. When I drive, the power pack charges up the battery pack. The mini 2 uses very little power so it works for me.

    • @samidesousa
      @samidesousa 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Mike for a quick reply! Litihium-ion power bank might be fine in some climates, but I’m doubtful because of extreme plus and minus degrees. Here in Finland in winter time it can easily get as cold as -20 Celsius degrees or even colder, and during summer time in direct sun light the inside temperature of the car can go over +50 Celsius degrees, so I’m a bit scared of malfunction in the battery causing a fire.

    Great video and breakdown of the of the Mini 2. Seems like you wouldn't recommend the Mini2 if it was purely for parking mode/motion detection. If that's the case do you recommend the Garmin Live?

    • @MikeMu

    Why does it have to be multicam and connected to each other? If two different cameras front and rear are connected to a 12v, they will record and can easially be synced in post if needed. But if the accident happens from behind, why would u need both recordings? I dont get it

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It doesn't have to be. Each dashcam records and processes standalone. Just use one app to control them all. Accidents can happen where you get hit one side all the way through the other side for field of view. I just want all 360 covered. Its actually how I caught the footage of person hitting my car recently with a shopping cart.

    How does this camera work? I mean how does it start stop does it automatically when you start driving?

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  ปีที่แล้ว

      It starts automatically with power. There are other configuration options in the app and depending on how you power it after your car is off, it will offer different options. I use a powerbank to keep it powered all the time so that it reports and records in 'parking' mode (ie when it detects motion using its camera sensors).

  • @KarolinaR.
    @KarolinaR. ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The only advatage of Mini2 is its size. I have two mini2. In the parking mode camera is not detecting motion, impact detection requires hitting the camera directly. hitting the car from the outside, moving it, tapping on the window does not trigger the recording. In the car park I don't expect a high-speed impact that will destroy half of my car and activate the camera ... it will not record parking collisions even on the highest sensitivity. App is buggy, every time there is a problem with connection. The quality of recordings is not very good. so many problems for such a price - do not recommend
