When he said me and my brother have always taken our racing seriously is such an understatement. I have been around plenty of family race teams. This is now one of my favorites !!! They are very inspiring ! So much goes into racing at this level. So much work and dedication. Great video Cycle Drag !!!
The success of the team is a combination of extreme talent, Larry and brother Steve. One is no less important than the other.
Let me tell you people, Larry is a great guy and if you ever get to meet him he will treat you just like a family member. He is the real deal. Born to go fast. Good luck this year Spiderman!

That Man is the King for a reason. Because his brother is the king of fuel. Fuel isnt the easiest thing to get your head around. Fuel can break the bank if your not doing thing RIGHT.The time spent in the shop really starts paying off when you start going rounds

My favorite part of watching these things run is when the crew chief leans in and flips the fuel to the high side it just hits a TON!!!!

It's crazy how much we learn from Larry and Steve just from interviews. Hopefully I can stop in there someday.
The only thing I learned from Steve McBride is that he's not the least bit interested in giving interviews. Not unlike NHRA's Warren Johnson when he's at the racetrack. Not unlike YT's Angry Grandpa. He might be a nice guy to have Thanksgiving dinner with but he's a man to himself when it comes to the race operation and is best left alone.
I hate cameras too I understand where he's coming from. He cracks here and there. One of those guys that doesn't talk but when he does it's always worth hearing.

Amazing technology in every thing they do. I'm curious as to how much oil pressure these motors run . Larry and his brother steve have made top fuel motorcycle racing what it is today!

well back in 2004-5 i did oil testing this company had pulling tractor it took a deisel motor put like 4 turbos it was alki fuel it had spark plugs this team had main bearing problems one pass! mains were gone try the brand i test it run fine on the oil i tested! boats were faster & better millage too! i got real sick in 2006 stroke, blood clots all my stuff came to end quickly my uncle was sick got better well i went over 35 years sick i had a skin posing plus blood cancer test shows nothing if the skin stuff in blood too! it all came end with uncle records his was saved for medical use under cancer control it blood thinner test he first to live threw blood cancer! it was 100% death rate to him!

Why stop at pistons. He should save all old parts and sell a complete engine. Not a runner, just a display model. Someone with a thick wallet would have a nice piece for the cave.

Wonder if there's a way to soften the rings through different heat treatments. My brother is a knife maker and heats and quenches for different hardness of steem

Would have liked to know how many gallons of nitro they bring to a race and what it costs per gallon right now?
It's about $30 per gallon, sold in 42 gallon drums and I don't know if the McBrides are allowed to bring their own nitro to the track or not. Nitro dragsters and funny cars running the NHRA circuit are required to buy it on site from NHRA's official and only supplier, Sunoco.

amazing shop and they guys are doing amazing work low mid 5's is insane. very surprised to hear they are using BMW bearings as a BMW guy i know that the Achilles heel of every M engine is the rod bearings most BMW guys go aftermarket for their bearings or switch to a coated bearing there's even class action lawsuits against BMW for its rod bearings. my s65 is on its second replacement set.
