I think the best thing about the scourge is that while having near infinite range and homing it's also Melee class meaning you also benifit from the best Defense and you can use flasks, the magma stone and frost armor to inflict several debuffs at the same time.
this item carried me from the start of the hardmode becuz I got lucky to the lunatic boss after I beat him and got the solar sword I threw the wepon 💀 sorry
If only we could use both of the evil biome chest weapons I personally LOVE the vampire knives for their healing I can focus on damage with minimal dodging while using a high damage weapon like the terrablade And then heal all the way back to full with the knives I used this one time with 5x spawn rates pumpkin moon it was amazing
@@SpiffyEaterOfWorlds yeah for all the little enemies it's really good But the knives worked for me because i could almost tank 4 pumbkings with a little bit of dodging
@syan2240 I'm quite good at tanking and dodging + I usually have an optimised healing set up so I usually just use scourge with terra blade or flairon as main dps
@impracticaI after the vampire knife nerf I usually play ranger or mage I just like the scourge for my calamity and melee challenge runs its good for mobbing.
wdym vampire knifes are overrated 😭😭😭 sure... the scourge has exceptional performance and is a very good weapon, but vampire knives' healing is insane (dont tell me "umm just dodge, lol skill issue" when you barely need to dodge with vampire knives). ik im gushing too much on vampire knives but you'll probably put away soc and vampire knives anyways for the daybreak and/or s. eruption in a matter of time
@@SpiffyEaterOfWorlds i'd argue that it helps more for master mode (you take WAY more damage = more uses for vampire knives), i do not know about legendary mode though. also yeah i couldn't tell you were joking sorry haha

It's been buffed over the past 5 updates and is now insanely good a year ago it was mid try it again for mobbing

@handyes42 on master and legendary vampire knives don't help as much, however I was very jokey if you couldn't tell, I play mage and ranger anyway lol
