What if that's not running but faster than walking. When I run even as slow as 8 minutes per kilometer I can only speak a sentence at a time and my heart rate meter has me at vo2max. I can run a half marathon atthis pace or a 30 minute 5 k. I have been running for barely a year and am getting both confused and discouraged by this.
I started running again a couple months ago and I have been breathing exclusively through my nose to enforce the slow pace. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I now seem to be able to push well outside of zone 2, by 10 or 15 bpm, while nose breathing. Does that mean my zone 2 is not accurate? Or am I just improving at breathing through my nose? Or both? Probably both but any thoughts? 😊
An additional thing I'd recommend is a VO2 max test if you want pretty perfect HR zones. It cost me around £100 and I don't need to guess/approximate it.
#4 is the best way I have heard that described that way. So true. Thanks !
I can't find the linked video you mention. Thanks for the tips!
Same :( Cant click the three dots to get to the descriptions

When I started zone 2 and aerobic training I had to walk a lot to keep my heart rate lower. It just takes time but you have to be consistent.

Oh man I want to go run, achilles injury has had me sidelined for the past 4 weeks. :(
That’s the only thing that would ever keep me from running. You could say it’s my achill… sorry. Hope your injury heels soon. Heals.
Most important can I run every day at this pace!
Does rowing with zone 2 heart rate train the heart the same way? Meaning will it help you run faster?
It builds your aerobic base which could help you run faster but it does use different muscles which could impact the rate you're getting faster
Is this your first short? Love it!
gold he breathes threw his nose guy get his gold
Taren's MOTTIV shirt? Nice collab :-)
For #5, get a Lab testing! Nice short video, btw.

Good one! I still need to book an appointment, here in The Netherlands my health insurance even covers it partly! 🙂
