    2:00 "I read online that....."
    This reminds me of a quote that I saw on Pinterest by Abraham Lincoln...
    "Do not believe everything that you read online, because it is difficult to verify its authenticity."

    I live in the area. Few tips if you are here for the week. Go to Avila Beach, walk the Bob Jones trail. You can't miss Montana de Oro if you are near Morro Bay (it's worth backtracking) Also have to go to San Simeon to see Elephant Seals. Ragged Point is a great stop for lunch. Very scenic. Paso has tons of great wineries. Daou has a great view. Check it out. Paso has the water park for your kids right next to the wine country rv park and a winery. If you are headed North Stop at New Brighton or Seacliff in SANTA Cruz area. Capitola is a cute town. Not as crowded as Santa Cruz.

    You deserve a double gold star. We just love watching your family enjoy this gorgeous country of ours.
    We just picked up a DJI Movic Pro drone for travel and security patrol of our property. Your drone videos sold us on getting a drone. Was curious...did you purchase insurance on your drone....ee need to look further into this.
    Hubby has been testing tje drone around our place i beginners mode. I've suggested we learn all we can about the drone before flying it over the pond. We sure wouldn't want to have to retrieve it from water.

    • @KeepYourDaydream
      @KeepYourDaydream  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't have insurance. Didn't know about it. I might get it. Fixed it once by DJI for $289. Each time your fly, you'll get better and more comfortable. Beg mode is also too limited. When you have 15+ gps satellites on it, it's hard to mess us. Just remember to set the return to home alt. high enough. The mavic has fw facing obstacle avoidance, so that will help you a lot!

    Pismo Beach is our playground and we make the trek from our Central Valley home as often as possible. Love driving on the beach in Oceano Dunes and renting quads or a sand rail. A stop at Splash Cafe for world famous clam chowder is a must, and of course MO's Smokehouse BBQ... ZOMG the killer garlic fries and homemade chips are the best! You can camp right on the beach if your rig can pull it, but there is freelance assistance if you can't.

      Let's talk about my next truck... I think that would a better answer. Ford F250 6.7L. But with that being said, watch this video th-cam.com/video/81KFlbR-STg/w-d-xo.html about buying your first rig. I can wait to buy my "perfect truck" now... because its not delaying our trip. We're already doing it. But to answer your question, I have a '13 Ford F150 with the 6.2L. I've heard from many people with the 3.5 Ecoboost that pull big loads too.

    I moved to SB from Phoenix in 1986. You guys captured it. And if I were you I would spend more time on the central coast. SLO, Pismo are great, to the south there is Lompoc and Jalama Beach, home of the world famous Jalama Burger. If I ever moved from Santa Barabara I would head up the coast to Slow. That's the way everyone pronounces San Luis Obisbo. LOVE this YT channel!

    I think this may be the new American Dream. What's the point of accumulating a bunch of junk that you'll be getting rid of later. We all have to work, but honestly, work to have experiences over stuff. Pismo Beach is one of my favorite places. Did you check out Madonna Inn?

    • @KeepYourDaydream
      @KeepYourDaydream  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think your right... and I don't think the Millennials have any interest in the traditional American Dream. They hardly want cars. There was a great article that said "stuff" depreciates in our memory and experiences appropriate. Such as how we feel about about our stuff from 5 years ago compared to the trip we took 5 years ago. Interesting.

    So I take it using a laundromat where you can do five loads at once is preferable than installing and using those small combos used in RVs. I think I saw that debate discussed on another RV channel.

    • @KeepYourDaydream
      @KeepYourDaydream  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a family of five that is active... hiking, swimming, working out there is no way a combo unit would work for us. But when Trish and I are RV empty nesters, I'm sure that will be a requirement for Trish.

      Great trip. Enjoy! It takes time to develop your "voice" on camera. Remember to record the beginning, middle and end. When starting out, many people forget to bring the viewer through the process and when editing there are gapping holes! When editing, remember to cut every but just the key point. My first vlog was 38 min. It would have been a great 12 min vlog! :) Good luck!

    We love Pismo Beach! The Pier is great. Nice little town. My wife and I come down from Vancouver WA. Can't wait to bring the trailer to stay at Pismo Village RV Park. Hope you are coming thru Oregon and Washington. There are sooooo many places to see. If you come up the coast, oh my gosh, so many sites to see. Sunset Bay State Park, a good place to stay. If you are coming up I-5, well, just about anywhere is someplace to pull off and see something. If you get to the east of the Cascades, you HAVE to go to the Sunriver Observatory. They set up about 10 telescopes all pointing at something different. Then they have a tour guide with a laser and he points out the constellations. They have a little amphitheater and do a great slide show presentation. Good family fun!!! Thank you for sharing your life. Your family is special. All the kids are great!

We stayed there for 3 months as Workampers and fell in love with the place and the area. Lots of things to do and see around there. The owners are a blast too and very friendly. Yes, apparently there's insurance out there for drones. I found out about the insurance from watching His and Hers Akaska vlog. I sent them a text asking about the insurance. I haven't heard back from them on it. If I find out any info, I'll forward it to you.

    SLO used to be our old stomping ground, and we miss it every day. (CA is just too darn expensive for us though.) It has to have some of the best restaurants/food per capita in the USA, maybe anywhere. If you're ever in the area again you have to try Firestone Grill's (usually just called "Firestone") tri tip sandwich...the best! You did very well with Mo's pulled pork sandwich though, they're probably the best. (Firestone has a great one too.) Other food options in the SLO region, in no particular order or location...Splash Cafe's clam chowder and bread (Pismo location), Novo (sit on their back patio by the creek), Woodstock's Pizza, Jaffa Cafe, High Street Deli (they have a daily 4:20 special, LOL), McClintock's, Thai Boat, Tacos de Acapulco in SLO (the best veggie fajita burrito), Sunshine Donuts, Freshh Donuts (yes, two "H"-es, ha), Old West Cinnamon Rolls, and Taco Temple. I'm sure I missed someone, but I swear you could eat out every meal for a week and still not hit everything good in the area!
    Also, make sure you walk around the SLO mission and creek area, walk/bike the Bob Jones Trail in Avila Beach, Avila in general, walk out on the pier in Port San Luis, Madonna Mountain Hike, Bishop Peak hike, Terrace Hill hike/walk (short and easy), the railroad bike path in SLO, High School Hill Trail, Montana de Oro, Avila Valley Barn (especially in the fall!), See Canyon Road, and the list goes on. This doesn't even mention everything up the coast near Big Sur. Cambria is a cool town too and the elephant seals are just up the road. You could easily spend a month in the SLO and southern Big Sur region. Such a great area!
    And of course, you nailed the Thursday timing with the SLO Farmers' Market. Some of the locals get jaded by it, but it never grew old on us. We loved going down there and "randomly" running into friends, and visiting our usual vendors. Every town needs something like it. Society would be better as a whole, if you ask me.

    We used to ride the city bus to the SB pier in high school...would catch Mackerel all day long and give them away. Anyone lucky enough to catch a Halibut could sell to the restaurant on pier for hundreds $$$, never got one myself but watching people get them was like winning the lottery!

    Lots of great info! I love a good farmer's market! We have one here, under a mile to walk there. Would love to take the grandkids in a wagon, but the late afternoon storms come thru and it's either raining and we don't even try or afraid we would get caught in a downpour! We keep trying!

    Great videos as usual. I hope to get out there soon myself. Be careful with your drone work. You are breaking several FAA UAS rules and then posting the evidence on TH-cam. You may want to do some research on what is legal with regard to the drone flying. Good luck and keep up the great videos.

    • @KeepYourDaydream
      @KeepYourDaydream  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know I've done that in prior videos, but have since done a better job complying. What was the violation in this video?

      Keep Your Daydream As a for profit venture, you should be a FAA Part 107 certified pilot. When flying for profit, there many rules to follow such as not flying in FAA class c and b airspace, notifying local airports that you are flying and never flying over people. Flying the drone is the easy part, following the rules is the hard part. I would start at the FAAs UAS website and go from there. Good luck and keep the videos coming

    BRAVO, Leaches!! Another Primo vid!! As to the Santa Barbara Courthouse: You're probably not old enough to remember but there was a lawyer-TV series back in the early 1970s called "Owen Marshall: Counselor At Law" starring Arthur Hill which was set in SB and the courthouse figured prominently in that show. I remember it [even 40+ years later!] because the main courthouse entry opens into a courtyard and offices were situated around it.
    FYI... Use it as you will. ;)
    Meanwhile: Watch your tail swing... Keep th' greasy side down and keep it 'tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen th' ditches, Y'All!

    Hi Marc and Tricia. I have been following you with great interest since the very beginning of your journeys. I am so excited you enjoyed your stay at Pismo Coast Village. We are shareholders and stay at PCV for about 3 months every year. Thank you so much for the exceedingly nice comments about our park. I intend to forward a link to your video to our park manager and my friends on the Board of Directors. My only regret is that we were staying at PCV while you were there and we somehow missed you. I would love to have sat with you, had a couple of beers, and listened to tales of your travels. Safe journeys and looking forward to your next vlog.

    Hi guys! We absolutely love, love your vlogs and watch them all the time. We appreciate all the tips and suggestions on things to do and places to see. However, if there's one thing that is ALWAYS unfortunately missing, is a mention of the campground prices you're staying at! I'm pretty sure everyone would appreciate that very much so that they could instantly know if it's something they can fit in their budget. We sure hope you will take this suggestion into consideration, it's a very important detail!
    Other than that you guys rock! Safe travels.

    • @KeepYourDaydream
      @KeepYourDaydream  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate the feedback. I didn't mention the prices because Cali prices change so much you need to travel with an accountant. They charge for pets, extra kids, pets and seasons! But we have made sure to mention the RV Park we stay at. Well... I mentioned Santa Barbara Sunrise RV Park, but that scene didn't make the edit. But it wasn't very nice and next to the freeway, so I didn't go out of my way to include it. I think we mentioned everyone one since this and we're in Portland now. We'll be sure to mention them.
