  • The thickness of 10mil mylar is 0.254mm, 0.1inch.
The thickness that cut with Cricut deep cutting blade is 1.7mmt
Therefore, using the circuit to cut 10mil mylar is no problem at all.
The video explains in detail how to set up the Cricut design space and how to cut.
The 10 mil mylar is perfect for making reusable stencils.
If your pattern is complex, 10mil mylar is very accommodating of detail.
Of course, 10mil mylar can use it to cut other creative projects.

So you're actually saying you cut it more than once? We made stencils out of 7 mil plastic I want to move it up to 10 mil I bought the deep cut blade although I didn't set it in tools so I guess it thought it was still a fine blade and I added more pressure in the default area. I did have trouble getting the stencil out. I had to pop it a little bit like it was perforated but you're saying if I cut it more than once it'll just go right back over the exact same thing and take it out? That was awesome looking by the way

I have the Cricut Explorer Air 2. You should create a custom Mylar material one for 7.5 mm & another for 10 mm in the Cricut Design App. The fine point blade works best but you will have to cut multiple times.
    1. When you create the custom material, you will have a change to tell it to cut multiple times 2x - 9x.
    2. Depending on the blade: 7-7.5mm mylar cuts with 2-3x. 2x was enough for an average fine point blade.
    3. For 10mm, I had to cut 8x to get a clean detail separation for stencils and I chose blockier silhouettes.

Lost my time doing like this, maybe because my knife is not new, however I solved it, pretty much. I used the next config in my cricut maker. I created a new config, name as you want, set up the deep size blade and a pressure of 350. and also x6 cuts, and before press C, chose in pressure (MORE) worked in an 85% of the art. but before that didn´t work at all. maybe try x7 cuts . I am trying do x4 cuts, pause, take out the blade and blow the blade, and then x3. takes more time but is better than nothing.

Cricut Maker, In material list scroll to "Other" and select "Mylar" . Then when ready to cut select "More" for pressure. Mine cuts with 1 cut 99% of the time with standard blade.

make your own material setting. set it to 350 to cut 4 times. that seems to work for me. do a test circle to double check. Also, I have found that with this setting a new regular lade works best

It did work but you may need to adjust the setting a little depending on the sharpness of your blade. Hope it works for you!
