I love these videos! You explain everything like my best friend would, patient, with a genuine love of giving, and fun! I even dream of these crafts with your voice in my head... really, I am not weird, right? 😄 Thank you so much, Jennifer!!
I love Jennifer. She is fantastic and always super helpful and not all over the place like some other vids.. I have had my maker for just about a year and she makes me confident enough to use it. These vids are absolutely amazing. I hope I can get a knack for some of these fantastic crafts.. thank you again Jennifer
I have had the same problem with the marker. I thought it was just me and something I was doing wrong. Glad I am not the only one to impressed with it.
Yes, you can use bamboo cutting boards for wood burning. Because bamboo is often mixed with glue, it's important to wear protective gear when working with it.
I never thought to use the easy press! I've been wanting to burn some wooden utensil handles for Christmas gifts this year, and my mini press would be SO perfect for that!
Thank you Jennifer your good at everything you do love all your work Thank you for always teaching and I love the way you explain everything May God continue to Bless you.
Your videos are so helpful! Thank you for sharing your skills. I used torch paste on wood with a heat press, and they turned out great, but the paper was stuck on them! Do you put the shinny side of the bucher paper down? How do you get the stuck paper off? I got one wet like I saw in another video and got paper off, but it smeared the burnt brown all over the wood. I am assuming I just need to start over, but I want to know what I did wrong first. Any advice would be appreciated.
Love the designs! Thank you. I enjoy each and every one of your tutorials. Lately, you've reminded me of Mr. Rogers. I soooo miss watching him! Btw, I have the same heat gun. It's come in handy many times.
Thank you so much for watching, Renee'! Your comment means so much to me!! My intro's on the step in front of the door was inspired by my love of Mr. Rogers! ❤
Love this video. My daughter is in the process of buying her 1st house on her own and I would love to make matching ones for us. Thanks for sll you do for us
OMG thank you so much...I had also tried the scorch maker and their lil kit...didnt get the results I was looking for. I will def be trying the ammonium chloride/thick it method!
Love this video! Do you have a vlog that demonstrates how to do apply a recipe to a cutting board? I know you said you did one yourself. Keep the great tips coming.
Love your videos!! These designs are amazing. Thank you very much for taking your time making these videos. I am hoping some day I can afford to do all this. Thanks again!!
You should throw away a bottle of ammonia or ammonia-based cleaner in your regular garbage. Instead, dilute it and pour it down the drain or dispose of it in the trash as a neutralized solid material.
What a wonderful video! I really enjoy learning a new craft. It doesn’t look that hard either. I think I’m going to make the Santa tray for my grandkids. I know they’ll really like it.
any tips on avoiding wood cracks? I burned on high heat and it cracked. I tried the low setting and its starting to crack. It had no cracks previously. I am using a slide of wood from a tree trunk. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Hello Jennifer, have you tried using reusable stencils when doing this burning process? I'm planning on doing multiple boards and was wondering if by making a reusable stencil with the plastic you used in another video, showing how to make reusable stencils, would work to save time and materials. Thank you for all your videos, they are so helpful. Saves folks like me hours of time figuring things out! 😍
I tried using the plastic reuseable stencils but it's not sticky in the back. It's hard to make it stay on the wood which made it harder to prevent bleeding. I tried running it through my sticker maker which helped a bit.
I love these videos! You explain everything like my best friend would, patient, with a genuine love of giving, and fun! I even dream of these crafts with your voice in my head... really, I am not weird, right? 😄 Thank you so much, Jennifer!!

How do you dispose of leftover ammonium mixture you don’t want to keep? Thanks for the great video 🤩
You should throw away a bottle of ammonia or ammonia-based cleaner in your regular garbage. Instead, dilute it and pour it down the drain or dispose of it in the trash as a neutralized solid material.
Thanks so much ! I’m going to do this project
Wonderful!

What a great idea. Can’t wait to try these
Have fun!
I wonder if I could just use my iron over the parchment? I think I will give it a try. Nice video thanks.
Your iron probably won't get hot enough.
I know this is a tad older of a video, so I hope you see my question! How did you dispose of your ammonium chloride gel mixture?
Here is some information to consider. nj.gov/health/eoh/rtkweb/documents/fs/0093.pdf
Love your videos! Thank you! - Fellow Michigander
Awesome, fellow Michigander! Thank you!
I can't wait to try this!! Thank-you so much
You are so welcome! 💜
Have you tried a gas heat gun? I think the flame should add some interest to the effect,
We only tried the items in the materials list on the blog post.
Could I use a swing away press for smaller items?
I don't think so, I think a heat gun works best for this. 😊🌻
I love this!!! Can you premake a bunch of these and add Personalized names afterwards?
Thank you! I suppose you can do that!
Hi Jennifer, Do you give it a light sand after burning ?
You can 😊🌻
Thank you for yet another great craft idea!
You are so welcome!💗
Thank you this was really detailed. Does anyone know why the burned area would look dull after using the burn gel method?
Maybe you didn't burn it long enough🥰
@@JenniferMaker Thank you so much for replying ♥ I will try again
any tips on avoiding wood cracks? I burned on high heat and it cracked. I tried the low setting and its starting to crack. It had no cracks previously. I am using a slide of wood from a tree trunk. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I love that tree!
Thanks!
We haven't tried reusable stencils on this project, but you could test it out.
Love it
I tried using the plastic reuseable stencils but it's not sticky in the back. It's hard to make it stay on the wood which made it harder to prevent bleeding. I tried running it through my sticker maker which helped a bit.
I used same basswood blanks and the permanent vinyl ripped up the wood. Will try removable vinyl. Has anyone else tried the removable?
Removable vinyl is a little more rigid but you could try it out. 😊🌻
Thank you! What do you recommend to seal the cutting boards with that is good safe?
We didn't find a need to seal it so I am afraid I can't recommend anything.
Food grade mineral oil is amazing for sealing cutting boards!
Thank you!
This was really thorough. Thank you, great tutorial!
You're very welcome! 😃💜
Always enjoy your videos. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your designs.
Thank you very much! 💜
I can see this technique on so many things. I’ve never been great with the eBay tool.
You can do it!
Very cool! Thanks for the tutorial
Glad you liked it!
This is so cool and easy!! Thank you!
You are so welcome!💗
Love the ideal, hope I can make it!
You can do it!
cornstarch works as a great substitute for thickit
Oh, that is good to know!💗
Great video! Your videos are so informative.
Glad you like them!
These are so cool can’t wait to try this technique! Keep the videos coming love learning from you
Thank you! Will do!
😯 I am going to try this!
Yay!
I was wondering if applying Mod Podge first might work to prevent the bleeding of the burn pen? Did you think of this or try it?
No, you can see the procedure we used here. jennifermaker.com/how-to-burn-designs-into-wood/
Awesome...can't wait to try!
Have fun! 😃💜
I've gotta try this!
I hope that you do! 💗
Thank you Jennifer
This is awesome!!
Love your video's ♡
So glad you enjoy them! 💗
