Indeed! Hummel is a bumble bee, which is the logo. Berta Hummel designed the art that inspired the figurines.

The nice thing about consignment shops is you can find American made furniture. Hard to find new furniture made here nowadays. 😞 This is a gorgeous shop. You have such great stores down in Houston!

Would need a light lift in place to lower the chandelier. There is a way around everything.

Yes to that platform sofa. Love it. Amazing Chandelier. Congratulations! Will ask G to dig out our dining room foundations to give us a bit more height so we can have one. Did you notice the Victorian doorman/porters chair. Perfect for a big entrance hall! X
Go for the sunken living room and add those platform sofas. Seriously hoping that the chandelier fits in our dining room. If not, it goes in the bedroom. Regardless, I will be admiring it all day everyday. Will have to look out for those Victorian chairs.
@@LadyMaryBeth the chair is a rather unusual one with a high back and a ‘hood’. (Black chair at 9.23) I think it’s either a modern replica or reupholstered. Made for sitting in cold and draughty hotel halls, waiting for top hatted and becaped (is that even a word?) gents to return from a night out at the music hall. Post pictures of the chandelier when it’s hung! X

That is one of the nicest chandeliers I have ever seen. I wished I lived in the U.S. just to be able to shop at all these wonderful shops. Things here in Australia have huge prices in comparison.

What a consignment store, wonderful treasures to be had. I have the old country roses by royal Albert and gave added over the years. I have tea and coffee services, dinner service with rimmed soups and many serving pieces, I started collecting over 40 years ago my china cabinet is full. I so enjoy your videos and see so many things that remind me of travels of many years. I have a salt, pepper and mustard pot that are jolly pudgy monks on a little tray my mother bought in 1957 in Germany are familiar with these. Take care until next week

I'm searching for a teacup and saucer display unit for only 6 to be placed on the wall or on the counter, no one has never shown it. Mary Beth do those antique places ship items? I found the Waterford cream and sugar this weekend. Creamer was 20.00, sugar 11.00 at two different places but they are the same pattern.
A badly tarnished silver revere ware bowl at Goodwill for 3.99$. Yes! Polished up beautifully! Its gorgeous!

I agree with John, I immediately thought Pairpoint when I saw the tazza. Also, the little hummel in the onion dome tower/gate is a factory second. You can tell because of the scratch through the backstamp. This is a common practice with German manufacturers especially. If there is a scratch or multiple scratches through the backstamp that indicates it is not first quality and if you still want the piece you should not pay first quality prices.

Another interesting vlog! Glad you have a Waterford chandeliers that you’ve always wanted! I think the engraved compote that you didn’t know about might be by the American glass company PowerPoint or other one called Sinclaire from the 1915-1925 period. You are right about trying to drink out of the Neptune Irish Belleek cup and saucer, it tends to tip over when filled with tea! Trust me, I’ve had that happen.
Love that Chinoiserie cabinet! I scored a Baker Historic Charleston one for myself (divine curved front), and it it hides a huge China and crystal stash!

@@LadyMaryBeth I grew up in Glendale, CA and we used to pass the beautiful Franciscan Pottery Plant, located on Los Feliz Blvd, whenever we drove to Dodger Stadium or to Hollywood. Great memories! I live in Louisville, KY now...lots of Franciscan dinnerware here at the vintage shops.
