This video is really really informative to the point where it's actually entertaining! I looked at the high pressure and low pressure areas and looked at them like gears or screws in a supercharger moving the air along. Now I see how the winds aloft are generated and how you can take advantage of a deviation to get there faster! So cool! Thank you!

You are correct in bringing up the thought, that the airmass is moving, and that those High/Low Pressures may or may not be there, when you get there. Hello, may be late for a comment, but simply to say that thunderstorms are topped off by anvils *not* because they don't have any more moisture to condense, and *not* because the cloud gets sheared off by a jet steam (although the jet stream can enhance it), but because the updrafts reach the bottom of the stratosphere which is an extremely stable region. You see thunderstorm anvils in the tropics all the time, where there is never any jet stream.

This is a great video. Very informational. As a former Air Traffic Controller you are absolutely right about the controllers are there to ensure your safety and there to help. If someone isn’t comfortable with talking to ATC practice practice practice because nothing is scarier for a Controller and other pilots around when someone comes into an airspace that isn’t familiar with using the radio or just fails to make simple radio calls.

Also the practical tips like walking us newbies through Flight Services call are really great. My only suggestion: now that ForeFlight is so good and so universal, it would be great to compare/contrast the resources in the App with other weather chart resources. Thanks very much for producing this.

Atmospheric gasses are not single molecules but usually pairs or triple molecules O2, N2 and H2O. Water vapor H-O-H weighs less than O-O or N-N but takes up as much space hence lower density.
