I loved playing Worms back in the day! I used to boot that sucker up on my SEGA Saturn and just play a bunch of rounds with my family all huddled up around the big CRT. The first game is often overlooked, but it still holds up surprisingly well. It would be interesting to hear you talk about the improvements from this to Worms 2 and then Armageddon (which still reigns supreme). I liked the video, but I would've enjoyed hearing more about your personal experience with the game! What makes it special to you? (assuming this is applicable). Keep up the good work!

I tend not to talk about my views or memories on games because I like the idea of allowing the viewer to ponder on their own cherished memories whilst watching, without clouding them with mine. That being said, I'm happy to add my thoughts to future videos if that makes for better entertainment 😁
Why does everyone forget about the expansion? It even came bundled as one product for a third release. It arguably what sets the first game apart as the best of the whole series. Yes I know, fight me but c'mon; Team 17 hasn't been worth playing in years. The expansion gave the player a campaign with cool levels, more multiplayer maps, more weapons, an incredible soundtrack, other stuff AND a whole set of really good voices. The other games just had the annoying squeaky ones and some packs with crap, generic lines but only Worms: Reinforcements lets you have a team of James Deans, ey-oop Yorkshire types, rude Scots and a whole bunch more. That pack had so much character and everything that came since just got progressively worse. New weapon ideas does not make a good sequel. Even had a cool installer! Man, I loved that CD.
Videos like this are what TH-cam was created for. I had never really heard of the first Worms game before, and this video gives me an idea for my upcoming LAN party...
I couldn't be able to count how many hours I spent on this game ! The Worms 3 Armageddon was the best imho. After this one, they began to make 3D versions of Worms and it sucked a lot.
Totally agree, Armageddon is the best Worms game released. So many iconic weapons such as the Holy Hand Grenade and Super Sheep made it a ton of fun! I'll definitely be making a video about it in the future.
We played Worms for hours and hours starting in the evening and only stopping when we were too tired to continue when the sun was up again. Good times!
@@RetroSamBam For the past few weeks I've in fact been entertaining the thought of getting myself a GameBoy and of course some games for it, and Worms would definitely make the list, alongside Supermarioland (1), Jurassic Park, Tetris and some others. I have yet to decide wether it's actually gonna be an original first edition GameBoy or some later, more sophisticated model. I'm torn between the nostalgia of playing those games just like I used to in my childhood and the curiosity what each of those original GameBoy games looks like with some color (and of course with a later model I would also have the option of playing later, more advanced games aswell).
It's got to be the Banana Bomb for me. There's nothing more satisfying than taking out a whole teams worth of worms in one move 💥 what's your favourite thing about Worms?
Yeah Armageddon still feels amazing to play today! It's got so many awesome weapons and the maps are really fun! I'll definitely be making a video about it in the future.

I think team 17 have been smashing it the last few years. They've been knocking out banger after banger.
worms was amazing in the 90's, even people who generally disliked video games loved worms

@@RetroSamBam yeah, also got motion sick back in the day, when I watched my buddy play Quake. Also multiplayer Micro Machines was rad back then.
I didn't get to play the first Worms but did play Worms World Party, Worms 3D and Worms 4 Mayhem, all of which were great fun to play.

I had it on Game Boy too! Although it wasn't the same experience as the console or PC versions, it was still really fun!
