It's crazy how rarely you see that sword in pvp. Before Swift slash was nerfed, I used to catch a lot of users off guard with the Star lined sword's AOW and they couldn't spam Seift Slash in between attacks. It's not an instant burst of damage like Moonveil is, but it's very capable of stun locking and roll catching.

Always love seeing you play man. Honest builds and no poise stacking like these tryhards that just wanna win a trade. I found most of the finger stuff underwhelming. The nails seem to be way too easily dodged, cherishing fingers is really difficult to get off in PVP without still taking, microcosm is pretty cool though. I started a finger mage build and ended up treating hospice spells out for better combos, like gravitational missile, gavel, swift shard because there are a ridiculous amount of discus hurl spammers

No berating here .... But Miriam's vanishing followed by the finger thing surrounding you could be effective. I've seen people teleport into the enemies to unleash something of that sort. It paid off to have a good AoE spell right next in the spell selection. Good vid as always 😄

i'm really curious how an arc-oriented build would look with these, i'm not sure why they would give the staff arc scaling unless they wanted people to use them with arc weapons. makes me want to try something with the new poison perfume weapon and night maiden's mist to just lean all the way into the area denial aspect of this sorcery school and try to encourage people to walk into microcosms and cherishing fingers by blocking off their movement. great oracular bubble might pair well with microcosm and the nail spells too

I just had a thought for a build, haven't had time to try it. Staff of the great beyond + relanna's twin blades mixing sorceries and incantations. Maybe the most flexible build ever and i cant wait to try it but i bet you could pull it off far better than i can!

Free-aim microcosm is one of those things I feel has insane potential and just needs someone crazy enough to put in the hours to master. Very curious if you can stick it to ceilings a la roiling magma, if you can I think this is secretly a god spell. Why does this not benefit from godfrey icon though apparently?????
Cherishing Fingers are kind of weird; you can get some absolutely wacky trades with how early it comes out and how it does pretty serious damage, but I'm not really sold. I think it demands you be too close, the defensive gimmick too short a duration, and other stuff like the crystal shotgun blast have more onetap potential to have fingers be something you fish for. May be a good trade option if you're being run down though.
As far as the nail spells, nail seems kind of okay and nails just seems bad. 1.4k is big damage if they all connect but the tracking and range just do not seem very good on either spell, but at least the little one hit for 600-700 kind of consistently.
Tbh i think the nails could use a buff but everything else seems neat

I think Finger Sorceries need a buff in general, Fleeting Microcosm looks like an "ultimate" and does pretty little damage, is not easy to hit either. Regarding the Nail spells I totally agree with you, needs better tracking at least, but as I mentioned maybe there is a good combo with for example Star Shower. 🙂

If you really wanted to get the most of finger sorceries you should've specd arcane and int, leaning more into arcane. It sounds so weird since the finger's themselves scale with INT but ive gotten more damage with 99 arc and like 42 int. You had the build right with lusat in offhand but comparitivly speaking, if you had 99 arc instead of 99 int, you could be doing more damage. Also the bonk finger wouldve been perfect for this build.

@rabbitsinthemoon9183 I was talking about using arc with some int, for the finger sorceries. IFF you had 99 arc with 42 int, finger sorceries deal more damage than if you had 99 int with say 42 arc. I'm not even talking about your level. This was a statement, this isnt me telling you how you wouldve gotten more if you reinvested your levels. Lastly, I meant either of the finger weapons would've gone well with all the finger stuff.

It blocks projectiles both physical and elemental so you can use it as a block! Gives you cover to get off a spell too usually. This and Microcosm are the standouts of the spell class for sure!
