Also, surprisingly not mad at the more natural strawberry blonde color of Ariel's hair. I think it goes really well with the iridescent teal/pink coloring of her tail in this version. The strawberry blond sort of picks up different colors in the light. ...So sometimes her hair looks like a rusty brown, and sometimes golden with streaks of pink. This Ariel is colored like the sunset on the ocean, and Im digging it . Her coloring in the cartoon, though iconic, was very solidly colorblocked with green, purple, and red. There wasnt any gradient or iridescence, and the solid ruby red hair worked. I dont think it would work with her new color scheme in the film though. I think it would clash too much with the pink in her tail.
Halle is a such fantastic singer. Her renditions of these Disney classic songs are amazing. Also, they really nailed the visual of her silhouette emerging from the sea flipping her hair with the sun in the background. Goosebumps.
I think we all have to accept the fact that the cartoon Sebastian is super exaggerated and silly. Crabs really look like how them actually showed him lol. Anyway, Halle looks absolutely adorable and she sounds amazing! I'm excited for this.
Also the blow fish is an actual blowfish not flounder. In the song under the sea Sebastian mentions a blowfish and that was the blowfish you saw. Flounder was in the cage with her and said “Ariel Don’t” when she was swimming to the surface
I had my reservations about this movie... This trailer has actually convinced me that it could be dope. And after hearing Melissa McCarthy, I'm sure she's gonna kill it as Ursula
@2:05 when Ariel start singing i was exactly like Jenn a little boy again all nostalgic and emotional especially toward the end of the trailer ... only adults that grow up with little mermaid as kids can understand and share that feeling !
Original animated Sebastian totally looks like a red turtle with claws. Lol. But honestly, im not mad at the cgi animals. I think they look a lot better than the *super* realistic Lion King ones. ...Like, these still look real-ish, but also seem a bit more cartoony/animated in their movements and facial animations. Like... Come on. This Sebastion is shaped like a real crab... But he has thoes cartoony expressive eyelids. Lol.
The bright red hair is part of the animated version. There have been other hair colors in various versions of the story so the hair color shouldn't matter. And, yes, Sébastien is a crab not a lobster. I think the animated version should have made him resemble a real crab shape. It was cute, but I think it was an artistic interpretation back in 1989 which may have confused some viewers.
After watching the trailer I went back and watched the animated version. Sebastian looks like a lobster because they gave him a head. If he put his head in his shell you can see the crab outline. I just hope they have Max as he is my favourite character.
This is a live action film, which means it’s a live action crab, which is what real crabs look like. Just thought I would point that out. Other than that great review.
His shiled is straight up a crab shield! They just made his head popping out a lot more and gave him a huge mouth and eyes, that's all. I think they can work on it, to make him more cute, and give him the ability, to show some emotions, because the current form doesn't really has potential for that. We need this if the chef chase scene will be in the movie. He will look different for sure, but I believe they can pull it out with some effort.
DEFINITELY DOPE I AM SO FREAKIN EXCITED FOR THIS THIS LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL you best believe this will be one of the BEST movies of 2023 SO HAPPY THE TRAILER IS FINALLY OUT AHHHHH MAY 26TH GET HERE ASAP
I always knew that Sebastian was a crab but he looks weird to me in the trailer. But I understand why they went that route. If he was more cartoon like people wouldn't be happy with that either. As for Haile Balle she IS Ariel. She really embodies the innocence and of course the voice of the character. I like Melissa as Ursula. They did a great job casting these roles.
Y’all gotta let that animated red hair goooo lol it’s live action so their taking the realistic route with that and yes the original is dark go rewatch
I agree with you guys on Sebastián and Ariel's hair it does need to be more red and I do like her singing to, and I also agree I wanna see the chief and Sebastián to lol 😆
The trailer looks good and also I'm grew up watching the original film when I was younger and yes I used to have the toys with it, plus Ariel's hair doesn't bother me, all I care for is do the character justice just like the original. 🧜🏾♀️😍💋
The problem with all of these live action remakes is making the non-human characters photrealistic. They aren't as expressive as their cartoon counterparts.
Watching this now and knowing the insane amount of pushback this beautiful film suffered is just sad. To think that there were kids whose parents wouldn't allow them to see this because of ridiculous political discourse is just....words fail me. (And surely the lady in this video wasn't surprised to learn Chef Louis was ommitted from the film? "Les Poissons" would have been a bit too disturbingly graphic in live-action).
TYPE DOPE and hit the like button if you loved this trailer. What you think of Sebastian?
I mean…he’s looks like a crab
dnope
I can't decide
DAVEED DIGGS? ❤#forthewin
The voice of the actress for Ariel gave me goosebumps. I think this could be the best live action remake since I got the same magic feeling
I remember seeing a video of her singing in 2017 and thought she’d be the perfect Ariel with that voice
Halle BEEN that gurl
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is probably going to be the biggest flop of them all. All the trailers have been downvoted to hell. 😂
@@thegoldentake7675 for a name like the golden take you definitely have a bad one 😂😂.
@@jolscot944 The truth = bad take (apparently). 🤣
Halle just captures the ESSENCE of Ariel. 💖
Definitely best part if the trailer!

They definitely chose the right person for Ariel cuz that voice you can’t find that in just anybody Halle embodies the very essence of Ariel
Halle is a such fantastic singer. Her renditions of these Disney classic songs are amazing. Also, they really nailed the visual of her silhouette emerging from the sea flipping her hair with the sun in the background. Goosebumps.
Her name is Halle not Hailey

Dope, love it. Halle Baileys voice is amazing.

Ikr woyld they like it if we have the cartoon Sebastian with human face in cgi? That would be horrible
I AM SO FREAKIN EXCITED FOR THIS THIS LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL! I CANNOT FREAKIN WAIT MAY 26TH GET HERE ASAP
Dad: "He's a human, you're a mermaid."
Ariel: "So."
Dad trying a different way: "He's like 30 and your 16."
Still Ariel: "So."

The blowfish wasn’t flounder. There’s a scene in Under the Sea that has a blowfish that expands 🤪
I'm seriously considering making reaction videos on reactors reacting to Sebastian. Hahaha. So hilarious.
Dope, Sebastian is a crab and his face is accurate for a crab.
I agree with you guys on Sebastián and Ariel's hair it does need to be more red and I do like her singing to, and I also agree I wanna see the chief and Sebastián to lol 😆
Flounder was not the buffer fish
Sebastian is a crab..the chef was cooking crabs when they had dinner.
The trailer looks good and also I'm grew up watching the original film when I was younger and yes I used to have the toys with it, plus Ariel's hair doesn't bother me, all I care for is do the character justice just like the original. 🧜🏾♀️😍💋
Turn around Sebastian is right behind y’all 😂
Perfeito 🤯🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍
You guys slay ❤
Honest reaction without being haters 🎉
He’s a red ghost crab, they are very animated in real life
The problem with all of these live action remakes is making the non-human characters photrealistic. They aren't as expressive as their cartoon counterparts.
#TripleD - My Wife is Excited!!
DOPE!
Sebastian is a crab. however, they took the anatomy of a crab and turtle and mashed them together cuz animated Sebastian isn't an accurate crab.
Got you between the eyes! HA!!
The chef part won’t be in it base on what the screen writer says he would be there but not chasing Sebastian
DOPE! 🧜♀
Dope
The only thing I'm not a fan of is scuttle but everything else is DOPE. My favorite Disney movie 😍

Look at her skin complexion and tell me she’d look good with brighter red hair- absolutely not. I’m sure they tried.
It’s a live action tbf that’s why he’s a literal crab 😂 mermaids also aren’t real. It’s gonna be great.
Double D
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️👍
Nope
Ariel is black and Triton is Spanish? Make it make sense… I don’t feel a connection between them. Was Ariel adopted? 😂😂😂
It was blind casting like Cinderella with brandy
I'm black and my mom is blk and dad is Spanish, it's possible
@@AtlCinderella80 exactly ! Definitely possible
Lol, definitely possible. I mean Zoe Saldana is literally an Afro Latina. I'm not sure why that confuses you, dude.
@@AtlCinderella80 Halle isn’t Latina tho
That’s NOT Ariel
You right it’s ARIEL
Are you gonna cry over a mermaid? 🤣
As long as she got that voice, she's certainly Ariel.
@@Meg63826 What if she were obese? Or had pimples? Or had tribal tattoos? At what point do we stop accepting changes to characters?

Took me a second but if I look at Sebastian as a miniature Mr crabs he’s kinda cute…😂❤️
