These irons were my bucklist set for several years. I am still playing my irons from 2006, but that is because I decided to have 6 children. So I guess these will always be a bucket list set of irons...LOL
The first gen, the 716 T-MB, was a game changer. I gamed the set until the 718’s came out, gamed a set of those for 4 years, now I have a combo set of 718 AP2/717 T-MB. Bought them one head at a time off of eBay, brand new. Took me about 6 months do find them all, but most of the heads cost me around 50.00 a piece. Threw some KBS Tour 120’s in. Mint set of clubs for around 350.00. Still game them today. I get so many, “man, those were great clubs, I forgot how nice they looked “. Sitting in a Vessel bag, they still do.
Still have a 4-GW 716 T-MBs. Great clubs with the True Temper AMT shafts. As my swing has gotten more pure, I actually hit them too high now. Still amazing irons though.
I got a set of Stealth HD irons second hand, they are similar to those in the video and only paid $500 for them, a great bargain. I don't think I would ever buy new clubs again, it would have to be something very special.
I remember seeing those when I was testing several sets back then. P790, iBlades, Apex 19 Pro and my current set 718 AP3s. Don't think there were any lefty TMB around to try 🤔
I had these in the 714 model and while great when you strike them in the middle, off center lost a ton of yardage. Would probably buy a new set of Takomo's for $500 these days
I have the 716’s from pw to 4i , only really use them up to a six iron as thats giving me 175 and im rubbish , choose your shafts to go with these carefully , just a little to light and you are getting towering draws that are hard to cope with . They are pretty though , especially the 716 version that has nicer decals and less obtrusive sole . Oh yeah and mine cost 200 but ive stuck a set of precision rifles in them since so maybe 300-350 ? They like the precisions btw 👍
Word of caution the T-MB models were unfortunately counterfeited a good bit. The best way to tell is the counterfeit models feel/sound very harsh and if you take them to be adjusted they are practically impossible to bend. The ones you're hitting James sound 100% authentic.
I think my luck when it comes to buying new clubs is awful. I have had 3 clubs in the last year that I have had to use the warranty because they have had issues. I should just buy second hand. Only hard part is I’m tall so started length doesn’t work well for me. 😂
Always enjoy your videos James but Golf clubs for cash = We buy any car. They have taken over the market and saturated it with over priced clubs. The majority of golf clubs on eBay are being sold by them which reduces our options and drives reasonable prices up in a market where prices are already over inflated. No thanks.
In all fairness to golf clubs for cash and golf bidder they do sell at reasonable prices the real problem is the prices they offer for our old clubs just like the low ballers at we buy any car
I've bought several bits on eBay from them and service is just brilliant, never more than a day or two to arrive and most of the bits I've bought have had a 20% off offer and been brilliant value.
Have to disagree, if you wait for them to do their regular 15 and 20% off weekends, there are loads of genuine bargains with GCFC. Service is brilliant too.
@@JamesRobinsonGolf You're right. Life's too short for insulting banter. Lots of people used to enjoy Oliver Hardy put downs for Stan Laurel. People regularly watched Ernie Wise put downs of Eric Morecambe. But there was one common reaction - nobody liked Hardy or Wise. So why do you think it's helpful to your channel to be viewed as an abusive loud mouth?
@@ianburton9223I think you need to understand that whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, it is just your opinion. My opinion is that it’s pretty sanctimonious to dictate to people how they should interact with their friends based on your own views which have no basis in their friendship dynamic. If it puts you off viewing then okay, there are others that don’t share your view and actually enjoy what I would call good spirited banter.
@@jackdavies9652 Since when did simple direct insults become "good spirited banter"? I don't dictate to people how they should behave towards their friends. I use the 716 TMB 3 iron off the tee and pair with the 718 AP3 4-P. I absolutely love it
I REALLY REALLY appreciate these used club reviews, great work all around, thanks
Are you the guy who complained about them on a recent video 😂😂?
wore out the grooves on 3 sets of these before switching to the cncpt 02 irons. cncpt so much more forgiving and look better too
Definitely solid value in that set!
own a set 3/PW and had new grips and new BBF star wars ferrules. may just get em back again. had my first and only ever ace with them too.
Still have a 4-GW 716 T-MBs. Great clubs with the True Temper AMT shafts. As my swing has gotten more pure, I actually hit them too high now. Still amazing irons though.
These clubs are beauts . I like the look of these over most modern ones
Still playing the 3 & 4 irons in these, they are the best Titleist irons i've ever had

I have now booked to play Woolley Park Sunday afternoon cannot wait!
Nice irons James! Thanks for

I still game the T-MB in 4-6. L will play them as long as I can. Just money.

How correctly about the light shafts!
Would love to see a review of Honma TW-X irons.

Just to agree on being left handed is one personal fact my best friend was a lefty playing right handed. Made him a monster in power.
I was able to score a set of Titleist t200 4-G for 500 bucks at 2nd Swing golf.
I can beat you for depreciation. Golf clubs for cash. PXG gen6 6-gap. Used about a dozen times as replaced with 317’s. $1700 down to £376. 😂😂😂. I win.
it sucks being a left handed
Wow. Great deal , you should play a round with your Buddy Gaz.

God I remember them released they were mega money 😂🤯🤯 great but of kit
Try some new level irons plz
These are beautiful. They look classic. Great collection piece for me. Good camera work.
I suppose how much disposable income you have to think these are a " bargain" as good as they are to play with.
Great point
