      Im planning on getting 22 ultra. As it's a lot cheaper than s23 ultra here. So it lasts 7.30 hours non stop. Yes it's not the best but i think ppl are expecting too much. Like I've used many phones and idon remember a phone that lasted more than 1.5 day. And it really depends on what you do. I never spend my whole day on TH-cam so in my case S22 ultra may last 10 hours a day. And 10 hours a day is fine. If you're travelling or on the go for a few days just get a powerbank. Like " a day on my phone" doesn't mean it must last 24 hrs.

    Dropping the screen resolution from 1440p to 1080p has proven not to affect battery life drastically. The pixels are still lit, they don't simply disappear because the text and images get a little less sharp due to the software. A native 1080p display on the other hand would make a difference.

      I think there is a difference between running a 1440p screen at 1080p than just running a 1080p screen at its native resolution.
      The 1440p still has to power the extra pixels even if some of them are now not distinct from others when the device is set to 1080p, whereas the native 1080p just has less pixels to light

    • @2tpw2
      @2tpw2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@montster338The same exact pixels are always on it doesn't matter if it's 1440p or 1080p, if that wasn't the case, a quarter of the screen would be turned off on 1080p and that's obviuously not true, that's why it makes absolutely no difference in battery life because the screen energy consumption is the same, the thing that changes is that the processor has to process a bit more pixels, but that just makes a difference of 0,2% battery trough all day in the worst cases. Literally nothing.

    • @kpg10
      @kpg10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @2tpw2
      @2tpw2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kpg10 The only games that run at full resolution are 2d games or runner games but those doesn't consume too much battery anyways, the difference won't be noticeable. Neither cod mobile, genshin impact, warzone, or pubg run at full resolution because it'll be simply impossible to run without extreme overheating, they all run at 720p or less. Conclusion: resolution doesn't make any difference, stop that misinformation.

    As someone rocking a regular S21 Snapdragon the only area lacking for me is battery life which in my case is around the same ballpark as the S22 Exynos. It has nothing to do with my device's age as it has been pretty much the same crappy battery life for the 2 years I've owned it.

    Fyi droping the resolution doesnt make a difference because samsung is throttling your display to 1080p most of the time, the s23 ultra has spen support and bluetooth spen sitting inside the phone charging thats the main reason to the s22+ and s23+ beating their ultra model

    • @fearless6947
      @fearless6947 ปีที่แล้ว

      that makes sense. It's the space for the pen

    • @Shan_Shah
      @Shan_Shah ปีที่แล้ว

      @fearless6947 no its the spen always charging inside the spen, and these extras eat up the battery since the s23 ultra has a bit more processing to do than the s23+, it's a 1 hour screen on time difference that's not a big difference, if the difference was marginal like 3-4 hours that what I'd consider better battery life. Just like using the phone on 60hz saves only 1 hour of battery hours, and I wouldn't consider going back to 60hz just to get slightly longer battery when I need the slight juice and the battery is low I'll turn on 60hz but ya, it makes sense for s23 ultra to have slightly worse battery life, hopefully samsung will stop cheaping out and give us the bigger 5500mAh or 6000mAh the way tech is advancing we need that size maybe even 7000mAh.

    • @fearless6947

    Here is a smart move you can do with s23u modes and routine menu:
    1. Make a mode below 20 percentage drop to FHD and Battery saver along with standard refresh rate also set performance profile light.
    2. Below 5 make it hd and use all the above along wiuth dim.
    This is a automated task you will get 2 hour extra tested on my s23 ultra at some hard scenarios. Also these get reverted back to normal once charged above 20 percentage normally without changing anything manually.

    I'm curious to know if the S23 Ultra would have won on 1080p? I feel like it would have been a more fair test to leave the Ultras on 1080p since that's what most people will probably leave them at. I can't really tell much of a difference between 1080p and 1440p on a 6.8" screen.

I just hate when tests don't have all the phones at equal brightness and resolution. Even though you drop the resolution on he S23 Ultra to 1080p, the consumption won´t be the same as the S23 +, because the S23 Ultra screen is 1440p, you will only reescale the images, but the screen has the same number of pixels (much higher) so the battery has to feed the bigger screen with more pixels anyway.
    The only saving battery is for the GPU, processing less textures because of the reescaling to 1080p.
