    Extremely impressive from S23 Ultra especially since it takes a bit for the adaptive battery to really optimize. Neck and neck with iPhone is a huge improvement.

      Adaptive battery makes no difference in constant use.
      It's only useful for standby.

      There are battery tests results for the S23, S23+ & S23U on the website for Phone Arena under "Samsung Galaxy S23 battery life". The S23+ had the following results (hours:minutes):
      Web browsing: 16:37
      Video streaming: 8:15
      3D gaming: 6:07
      In Phone Arena's article 'Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus review: The Galaxy you should buy' they concluded 'Excellent battery life'. I'll be ordering my S23+ tomorrow 🙂

      Not only the chipset but the screen panel tech is what makes it much more efficient and less draining on the battery. Look it up. It's pretty crazy. I love my s23 ultra. I have almost 6 hours of screen on time and 28 hours standby and still at 38% currently.

    Great video. I already preordered my S23 ultra, so based on these results and on my usage it should last me a full day. Anybody who has the S22 ultra do you use the S pen alot or every now and then? And if you don't use it a lot does it bother you or get in your way of everyday usage?

      Honestly the s22 ultra is not a bad phone in my opinion, I dont see a reason to upgrade to s23 ultra which is another 1000 usd with the trade in deals. Regarding the s pen, its actually very useful, I use to believe it was a gimic feature until i started using it for taking down quick notes in med school and using the quick translate option.

    I’m very impressed with the S23 Ultra. If Apple had bigger milliamp hour batteries on their iPhones to match the Galaxy S23 Ultra, that’d be insane. iPhone 15 Ultra better bring a much bigger battery. 🔥

    Very nice ! Great improvement on s23 ultra. Now we would like to see a standby drain test, i reckon there will be a big difference between the 14 pro max and s23 ultra on there as I feel like Samsung battery drains very fast during standby.

      It will outperform the iphone when you use the galaxy max hz app to set it to 96 hz and enable lite performance mode
      EDIT: also the s23 hasn't been fully optimized with updates yet, the s22u battery Improved over the year, hopefully the same for the 23u

    My s23ultra battery life has been so good! The improvement from my exynos s10+ is so big! I needed to charge that atleast 3 tines a day, but with this new s23ultra i just need to charge in the morning and thats it.
    I still play alot of pokemon go and my s10+ used almost 40% in an hour playing that and my new s23ultra only uses about 10% in the same time.
    Also it still learning my usage so the battery life should get even better.

    Now that's an all around victory the Samsung S23 Ultra can hang its head on. I know that display is pulling way more power than the the iPhone is, plus given it can fully change in like 50 minutes, it has my unofficial belt as the best all-around battery.

      Iphone has 15 % smaller battery. And lasts longer. No standby in this test, and thats where apple beats samsung. Iphone gets 50% in under 30 minuts. Its fine and stil king of batterylife between this two, waiting for iphone 2023 and 3nm

      @@Randomdude21-e Actually, only 8% smaller. iPhone battery size is 4323mAh while Galaxy’s is 4700mAh (5000mAh is the "marketing size"). But the battery size is not relevant, just the battery performance. And the fact is that the difference is so insignificant that it no longer is relevant for taking a decision in favor of one or the other.

    It's all about optimization I guess... The Iphone is using an OS that is engineered by their own company, and apps tend to be more optimised on IOS. But still, Samsung did a very impressive job with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It's a great phone in my opinion and am looking forward to getting one soon❤. Loved the vid by the way👌

    the One UI 5.1 update for the S22 Ultra severely reduced the battery life of the phone. ive had mine since October 2022 and would get avg. 5.5hrs of screen on time, 14-16hrs overall battery. now with the update,i get like 3hrs screen on time, 8.5hrs of overall battery. i work 6.5hr shifts,have bluetooth,location,and LTE on the whole time..i would go from 100 to 60% by the time I'd be back home(7hrs)
    now im coming back home with 30% battery, same settings and apps being used as before. its ridiculous. i would avg -10% every 2hrs. now i lose 15% every hour

    Can you do this again with Lite performance mode enabled? If I recall correctly, it performs the same as 8gen1 and trades in the silicon gains for purely efficiency.

      Ss did excellently this year, many people compare the battery gap on S23U and 14PM but don't realize that to extend 600mh on 14 PM 6.7 Inch to 5000mh like SS, Apple must have a bigger size of screen, that may go up to 6.9 to 7.0 inch and apparently it will spend more power than 6.7 inch not to mention the QHD+ like on SS23U.

      @@Kaan029 yep, but the difference isn't as large as people think. Apple mentions rated capacity, Samsung mentions a rounded up figure called typical capacity. Samsung S23U is about 4800mah rated capacity so the difference is approximately 500mah, considering the S23U has a bigger high res display it did well. Both did well overall

      There are battery tests results for the S23, S23+ & S23U on the website for Phone Arena under "Samsung Galaxy S23 battery life". The S23+ had the following results (hours:minutes):
      Web browsing: 16:37
      Video streaming: 8:15
      3D gaming: 6:07
      In Phone Arena's article 'Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus review: The Galaxy you should buy' they concluded 'Excellent battery life'. I'll be ordering my S23+ tomorrow 🙂

      The S23 Ultra's screen is 1.6% larger in diameter and 4.1% larger in area, so there's not much difference. However, the S23 Ultra has 23% more pixels at native resolution.

      And 4,1% would not make any difference at all, there is alot more than the screens that draws power in a phone so 4% of a small piece of the battery is litterally nothing

    Nice video, but I think that your iPhone got some battery issues, that battery health is not 100% cause I saw another battery test the 14 pro max was 1hr ahead than the s23 ultra

      A16 Bionic also uses ARM architecture. Also worth mentioning that the 14 Pro Max’s battery capacity is 13.5% smaller than the S23 Ultra’s. iOS’ efficiency with the Bionic chips is just unbeatable although I will admit that Samsung/Qualcomm is slowly catching up.

Coming back to the "smaller battery" stuff, nobody is holding apple's hands on making a bulkier phone than current 240grams of mamoth with just 4.3Ah battery. It's their loss to not be able to fit things properly to make it slim, more comfortable to hold and light weight. Heck, the S23U even has an SPen with 5Ah battery.

    If the launch of the S24 series was delayed until the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 launch, I believe the difference between the octa-core vs hexa-core cpu and the 5000mAh vs 4xxxmAh battery is more noticeable

    You were using a SIM card in S22 ultra and also it's with Exynos processor. Whereas others were using only WiFi. This makes a lot difference with battery consumption. I would suggest to get a Qualcomm version S22 ultra and use only WiFi.

      Idk if this is meant to be a joke but if this is it's a really dumb 1 because with the processor snapdragon is catching up with apple and snapdragon engineers already leaked a photo of the 8 gen 3 and it showed 1930 single-core score and 6236 multi-core score in confront of A16 single-core score 1870 and multi-core score 5380 and with snapdragon they say it has 20% more efficiency however with the time this will for sure get a lot better

      @@the_red_gamer This chip is going with 1 X core 5 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores. The A16 has only 2 compared to 6 on Qualcomm but this will truly hit the efficiency of the chip. We don't know what A17 chip will be. Maybe finally Apple will move to 3 performance cores which will put it comfortably ahead of the 6- performance-core 8 gen 3.

    They virtually tied and knowing Samsung, their software updates could even improve battery life. I have the S22U, and I think my decision to upgrade to the S23U is justified just for the new snapdragon chip and its improved battery life

    I'm impressed by the s23 ultra and iphone 14PM but then using the camera to end the test doesn't just do it for me besides unless you're vlogging or filming a mini movie on your phone you don't use the camera for that long. That aside it was fun to watch

      In terms of battery life, I agree. While Apple still has a slight edge, they need to stay on top of their game if they want to remain the battery life champs. Besides that, I think Samsung will face tough competition as the S23 series are quite underwhelming.

      @@XEETECHCARE IDK why people hate on the exynos model so much, with the s22 ultra exynos 2200 is actually very similar to the snapdragon 8 gen 1 in light to moderate use, unlees u plan on gaming on the phone you cant really tell the difference in normal day to day use. I have had an exynos s22 ultra for about a year now and I get around 3-4 hrs of screen on time and a total battery life of about 2 days + but then again I use my phone for very light tasks.

      @@sendtheasteroid8008 For real? It lasts me through a full day of medium-heavy usage. It doesn't compare to my 13 pro max that keeps me going for a day and a half at least but still far from the worst. The s20 Ultra (exynos) failed to get me to the end of the day on multiple occasions. I wonder if I actually needed the pro but for £600 I paid, it blows everything in that price category out the water.

      @@1floony I will say this since my pixel is my work phone I Don't have as many battery saving features on but I barely get a day of battery with light to medium use

    what settings did have you have the 22 and 23 ultra? Were they the same and did you any power saving turned on?

    Thanks for the informative test. The battery test you did on Samsung Galaxy Ultra 21 a year ago, Ultra 22 lasted 9 hours 27 mins compared to the almost 9 hours now. If you are using the same Ultra 22, it could be deterioration from its battery over time. Below shows the link on your previous test.

    I wish this comparison included the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant of the S22 ultra, which probably would've been quite similar to the S23 Ultra

      I think that's the Snapdragon cos the exynos can't even last more then 5hrs on as single charge. I used to have the exynos s22 ultra some time last year before i sold it off due to poor battery life and the bad performance as well, so i know what am talking about.
