- We’ve seen some massive wooden roller coasters be converted into steel hybrids. Mean Streak at Cedar Point (Steel Vengeance), the Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas (Iron Rattler), and White Cyclone at Nagashima Spaland (Hakugei). But what if the Beast at Kings Island, the 7,359 foot, the record-breaking longest wooden roller coaster in the world, would be converted into a hybrid? What could be possible with a structure that massive?

Ok now make an Rmc Racer
This is the problem that I see with RMCing the beast. You can make the most insane, wackiest layout of all time, but you’ll almost certainly lose that awesome feeling of just gliding down hills past trees. This is what makes the beast so legendary, and if you throw a bunch of wacky elements into that stretch after the tunnel but before the lift hill, you just don’t get the same feel that is hard to fine on many other coasters. If they ever do RMC the beast, I’d be ok with doing whatever sort of wacky elements come to mind from the station to the first tunnel, from there until the second lift hill, they shouldn’t change much. That’s how I believe an RMC of a classic coaster like this is done right, adding the thrilling elements but also keeping the original feel of the coaster.

The beast is a wooden coaster. The longest in fact and would lose that if converted. And as much as I'd love to do a rmc signature barrel roll out of that first tunnel, it's a classic. They really need to have someone like gravity or GCI come in and reprofile the whole thing. Make the straight stretches more exciting and smooth out the areas that have those insane trims.
Son of beast was an epic fail and a second beast coaster deserves a do over. Banshee only took up a small portion of the S.O.B plot. They should use the rest of the land and let rmc do a custom ground up creation instead. Call it Steel Beast
If the Beast didn't have it's old charm and place in coaster history like it does, this concept would be incredible
They should put an rmc in vortexs plot of land and make it a new son of beast and maybe have it intertwine with the beast
This would be insane! As much as I have always loved the Beast and wouldn’t wanna see it go, I would take this any day. But yeah, I don’t see KI doing anything but re-tracking this iconic coaster and keeping it in its legendary spot for years to come still.
I feel like they would only replace it if an accident happens :/

@@NickyD how do you figure it’s close to the end? It’s not like Vortex where the manufacture company is no longer in business. They have the material available to keep maintenance up and possibly even re-track it. Wooden coasters have a much longer service life.

Maybe because building a coaster is a lot more than working on a layout in No Limits 😂
Rmc beast coasters are meant to be thrilling and somewhat smooth so these type of rmcs are a different feeling.

The only thing I wish they would change with the Beast is to modify it so that the trims would be needed less.
So a lot of research has been done on the trims, especially original versus current. And really, the only difference is that they replaced the old friction trims (which would slow the train down over the entire length of the train) with magnetic trims (which "grab" the first couple of cars in the train). As an over-40 lifelong KI attendee, I've ridden both versions. The exit speed after the trims are the same as they ever were; the only difference is how you feel them. Take that long straightaway after the first drop: that used to be one long trim brake. When you hit that originally, the train would gradually slow down. Now, you speed through the straight portion, with only the sudden slow down at the end. This also applies to the second drop. The only trim that could really stand to be removed is the one on the camelback after turning out of the first tunnel. But that one - much like the one after the turn-around on The Voyage - is out of wear-and-tear necessity.
What I would do is add some quick, shallow speed hills to the long straights after the camelbacks to give it some pops of airtime back there while still retaining the feeling of flying through the dense forest. The ride as it is has some good moments but there's a LOT of filler track.
i don't want it to happen bc the beast is such a classic , and don't think so, but if it would happen, this would be BONKERS
When I say I want a ground-up hybrid RMC to pay homage to son of beast while not taking away the original beast (so they would be side by side), this is what I mean!!

Yep! Imagine then KI would have this, the original Beast, Diamondback, and Orion as their standout 4. It would easily make Kings Island be the second or maybe even best Cedar Fair park if it already isn't considered that.

Wow, I love this! It’s actually rare when I see someone’s creation that I really like. Love your commentary as well! My only gripe is the lack of tunnels, as The Beast is famous for having 4 (one you go through twice) but the ride looks so good that I think I can get over it!

Amazing concept, would definitely be one of if not the best coasters in the world. The Beast is a pure fun ride that is like no other. Out of the 133 coasters I’ve ridden I have beast at 25 due to it’s fun nature. Every single ride I got off smiling and/or laughing. That all being said, amazing video and concept. Keep up the great work 👍
I just rode The Beast for the first time ever three weeks ago. I had to see what riding this icon was like. It’s fabulous! Yes, it’s old but that part of its charm. It’s what makes it unique and special. This isn’t just a wooden roller coaster but a very large terrain wooden coaster which isn’t seen anywhere else. It’s a beloved wooden coaster and I wouldn’t change a thing. And the night rides! That’s tradition to the locals. It’s actually scarier at night. I can’t wait to go back to Kings Island and ride it again.
This looks so amazing. Great work and dedication. Awesome concept to work on as well. Would be the #1 ride in the world IMO.

I love the double water turn element. I put one on a coaster I designed a few years ago on planet coaster so urs it a lot smoother, I feel like the sensation of staying out of your seat while being thrown side to side would feel insane, as well that mix of an over bank and water turn is another element that I put one some of my coasters! Guess great minds think alike

If KI were to get an RMC, I personally think it should be some sort of Raptor. The park doesn’t have anything even close to it, as most coasters have floater airtime. But Kings Island is such high quality that I could see them getting a ground-up I-box hybrid. They have a ridiculous amount of space to work with.
If they were to get an RMC, it would most likely be a ground up ibox, but I could also see a large scale raptor here also.

This is the most insane layout ever! You don’t know how much I want to ride it. Anyway, The Beast is so iconic, that it would be pretty sad if they RMCed it. But, hey, it would always be in our hearts, and there will always be some things we’ll miss about the coaster! But, like I’m saying, this would be the coolest thing ever, and I would love it!

My 8 year old son and I rode the beast this summer 2 times. I came off with a good bruise on my side due to the rough ride. The first thing he said was that was awesome, but a little rough. With the long history of this ride, I still think the future of the ride should involve a re boot. What you have mentioned in the video would take this ride to the next level and still keep the long history it has. The young future riders are the next generation of thrill seekers that would love to understand the rich history and still break new records for the future!

This is so cool! I personally have also built an RMC beast and mine is quite similar. A couple notes though. The supports are actually the steeple supports, not stairs. Also it would be cool to make the trains look like the fire color on the original cars. Last thing, I think they would have it just go around the final helix once, sort of just a outer bank or something.
I’m sorry, but they’d NEVER not do two laps on the final helix, they would have to pay as much respect as possible to the Beast. The park management itself would probably feel internal pain if they didn’t respect the Beast. They love that ride to death.

I agree about not RMCing Beast, but this would be an amazing ground up RMC and they could obviously theme it to Son of Beast and call it like "Revenge of Beast" or something along those lines
The covered straight part of the track…I always see as a launch track themed to a cave with a heavy bear growl. But again good job.
Everything before the second lift is awesome, rmc, yada yada, super great that is just stupid dumb hella fun. However your concept of the double barrel roll drop after the second lift and that turn that takes a smooth outer turn the whole way would be so so insane and choice. :)

This is absolutely fantastic!!! I’d only change one thing… keep a tunnel somewhere close to the original double helix tunnels…but keeping your incredible layout instead. Cedar Fair I’m begging… do something like this!!!

The first half is brilliance in every meaning of the word. It's hard to thread the balance on the second half, since the original is a single, iconic moment of sustained acceleration and intensity, so I feel we went a little overboard and didn't slow the train near enough to the end either. But still, what a project!
It was difficult to figure out what to do for the second half. I wanted to pay some homage to the helix, but RMC would never put a giant drawn out helix on one of their rides. I did put a strong burst of laterals and positives at the bottom of the drop, similar to what is felt on the original helix, but that's pretty much it.
Cool.. But I love the beast and hope it never changes but you did amazing work on this nice

Fun thought to "(Un)tame" the Beast, but like you said in the beginning: The Beast is great just the way it is!
Maybe RMC can build a replica structure and built the hybrid somewhere else, where there are too little coasters to rave about, like Colorado ;-)

Personally, I would love to see a Titan Track makeover for the Beast. That way the second half helix could remain unchanged, but the first half could be redone to be smoother, faster, and more aggressive air time wise. The first half is a monorail through the woods, but titan track would be a cheaper way to create a new layout in the first half, without completely sacrificing what the Beast currently is
Hey man this looks amazing. I would like to see a full on ride of this uninterrupted but I know you said your doing a cinematic video so I guess that solves that. Also I’d rather see kings island do a son of beast RMC if they find the room. Son of beast had such negative vibes that I feel it would be a good way to hash out the bad past. In your coaster I would love to keep the ending tunnel because that always made the beast so cool because it sounds like it roars and it’s scary. Maybe have an effect trigger that sound would be cool. Also I feel this would make guests sick because it’s a very long ride and that’s a lot of craziness for a long ride. I personally love it and the crazier the better for me but I’m just acting as if this was an official release. Great job on it I love the idea. The beast was built when I was a kid. It would be hard seeing them change it. But I would love if they did something like this right beside it.

I really hope Kings Island builds a custom I-BOX that is similar to a Son Of Beast conversion (eg. has a loop, similar support structure) in Vortex's spot. Imagine a RMC of that height and length! It probably won't happen though if it is true that Cedar Fair doesn't want to work with RMC again.

I personally love the Beast the way it is. That 2nd drop is amazing. This would just make it like every other roller coaster…when the Beast stands out on its own
imma go against the grain and say this looks like a monster, yes the beast is a unique ride but the elements on ur rmc could catapult this to #1 in the world. very well done with the unique elements, even for an rmc, and the good mix of air and inversions. 10/10 wish this was real

In game you get a while to catch your breath, I just removed that part of the POV to keep it interesting throughout the whole video
I would rather RMC give it the topper track treatment. It would still be classified as a wooden coaster. Can keep the layout the exact same, and remove the trims once and for all. The fastest part of the beast is at the sharp right turn before the second lift.
I agree with the comment that RMC should build a ground up creation behind Banshee utilizing Outpost 5 (SOB Station). Have that coaster dive through Banshee's structure.

The beast would be insane rmc. It would probably be the most insane. The beast has been the first ride every time I go to kings island and I love it but imagine adding inversions on the massive helix as well as retaining the terrain riding features

I would love to see a heartline roll with velocicoaster's shaping on an RMC...
I think if RMC were to ever do a launched lift hill again it would have to use their steel truss structure to eliminate the problematic swaying of the wooden structure on lightning rod. This would keep the lsms aligned with the fin on the bottom on the train. The launch on lightning rod fails when the trains sways and become misaligned with the magnets fixed to the track causing a roll back to my understanding.

Please don't RMC it. It doesn't need it and KI needs a lot of things way more than an RMC'd Beast. Maybe a stand alone RMC where Vortex was, maybe a T-Rex.

I think a long straight section of track or just a super deep valley and step up before the second lift would be just fine.
In order to save that nostalgia of the original beast. Especially since all those ejector moments and double ups and double downs are coming at the end of the ride.
I believe that if RMC came in and just retracted the wood and carts, but with the same layout/give it a real flow would be great and still make the fan base happy.
yeah, my thing with this rmc beast is that it would take away one of the more family oriented coasters from the GP

But hey, if Kings Island would RMC Beast and it looked anything like this, I would be in favor of it. This video also raises the question, what would RMC Racer look like?
Can you do what could RMC El Toro look like. I know it probably won't happen but it would be cool
