People always overestimate ronaldo's ability to carry a team. Ronaldo has always had some of the best midfielders to ever play support him. The entire team is always build around him. Messi had the same luxury in his early days. And we know how he used to score during those days. Later in his career, we saw how much he carried that embarrassing barcelona team to ucl knockouts every year. People don't give that allows of his game enough credit. Some say he isn't a leader. Why? Because he doesn't shout and throw tantrums often? If you actually look at the games, he's always telling the younger players what to do. Messi's international career is way more impressive that Ronaldo's and it's not even close. Also whenever people argue about rinaldo playing in different countries, he's always played in the best team of every country. Him going to the serie A was a downgrade. But you can compare based on their careers, achievements and xy moments like clutch goals or moments in the biggest stage.
Ronaldo is the greatest, he has the most valuable and precious career, he marked and conquered the best leagues, won the first ever int trophy of his small country and dominated the European scene were he featured in 6 UCL finals between 08-18 winning 5 in a b2b2b fashion. At 34 he left for Juve and scored 101 goals in 138 games.
Apart from that Ronaldo got the influence and impact on and off the pitch which is important to me to judge who's the greatest.
