    To all of you wondering Kingston and Tzu Wei pretty much carried the school when I was there. I saw Feng maybe like 3 times during the year and he did pep talk mostly. Good luck to you with the new school!

      Hey since you've been down here, i was wondering is there a way to take the class without having to travel to Singapour ? Like a paying a full year or something ? Thanks for your answer and please pardon me for my english ( i'm french )

      @@shadethedon8351 I am fairly certain that you can't do that. Well, at least you couldn't back at FZD. To be fair I can't imagine handling that amount of workload from home, you kinda have to be energized by the collective suffering.

      @@vp42art14 I’m only interested by their perspective plan, but yeah i kinda undestand what you mean. I guess l’ll have to go with Scott Robertson book then. Thanks for your answer man

      be thankful. Artcenter is even worse now. All the good teachers got "me-too'ed" during 2019/2020 school year, and many of the best teachers quit in protest.

    I tried to follow FZD fundamentals for quite some time and hunted down all available info and created my own curriculum. Now you give away all the info for free…..thankful for myself and anyone who wants to learn the basics. Still the best program (with the biggest viability). Thanks. Btw I worked with Joao de Silva and Peter Sutherlans who studied together at FZD They both shared a lot of info, because they knew without the work put in, their info would be worthless. No way to catch up with them…too many FZD drawing nights…
    All the best for your adventure. The games industry needs schools like yours ;)

    Honestly. I feel like Feng Zhu and his school has been teaching outdated curriculum for over 5 years now. The industry of concept art has transitioned from hiring low/mid level Concept artists, to only wanting "Senior concept artists" for full-time AAA positions. What does this mean? by senior they don't really mean "senior experience", but more like extreme proficiency and knowledge in 3D software and full-on 3D rendering skill sets. The expectations on the "level of finish" they want from concept artists if you want to get hired full time, drawing and painting will not cut it anymore. You're either on the 3D train that Jama Jurabaev started, or you're gonna be stuck working for slave-level outsourcing jobs.

      Right, especially when he ripped off the entire means of teaching and approach from Arts Center, which he graduated from under the mentoring of Scott Robertson, which is why FZD was heavily influenced by industrial design.
      With only difference the program stayed unchanged for 8 years. No wonder it died out

      I keep hearing different things from many artist though. For example Andy Walsh who has a TH-cam channel says he lost a lot of clients because he wasn't good at 2d skills like painting and drawing. He uses mainly 3d for his concepts.

    I wonder though, do most FZD students have this much experience when they enter? Because clearly Nia doesn't seem like she was a total beginner at the beginning. :o

    Burn out is a legitimate medical diagnosis, maybe Kingston needs to do some research on the topic (concept artists should be good at research, right?). Having the mentality that people who suffer burnout are just lazy or "just want an easy life" is very ignorant and toxic. I would not want someone with that kind of attitude as a teacher.

    • @conceptual_ink
      @conceptual_ink  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      you have the freedom to be angry, we respect that. I guess the reason we laugh was because we have fun looking back on our old works as an artist. When we put lots of effort into art and we improved, We will look back at our old artworks and laugh together with our artist friends and joke about that, I m sorry if that bothers you but guess we will keep doing that in the future., talking for 40 mins with a poker face is hard. :) cheers

      @@conceptual_ink no one is angry here, but if you are stating that u will in fact continue to review ur work and laugh about it u are in fact being childish and also disrespectful.. talking for 40 minutes with a poker face is what adults do, giggling every 10 seconds is very childish actually and immature
