Let us pray now. Father God we thank you for bringing these beautiful children of Africa back home, despite the negative indoctrination about their continent. We request that you keep them safe here Lord, and reassure them always that this is their true place and that they would be most free amongst their own kind in their own land, Africa. Amen.
Amen thank you so much for this prayer and we for sure feel at home
Wonderful prayer
Amen

Amen 😊
Am i the only one who thinks Ms Jones has extremely strong Bantu facial features (especially Southern African)
.. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔.
She does hey, she looks like a Zulu woman. It’s my first time on this channel and when I saw the thumbnail I thought she was the South African and her husband American
@@noziphokhumalo2963 at least somebody agrees 😊 nami ngangithi uMzulu
The Khumalos... Of course.
They look like a bongani and zinhle 😂❤

22:00 Its generally easier to have a helper here. Most people have helpers.
Something totally new to us!
In response to Chrystle’s comments on the restaurant experiences, we do have a long way to go pertaining certain aspects of Customer Service across the board in many of the industries. We’re yet to grasp the concept that ‘the Customer is king’ in business.
ok ok ok, noted!
Always positive no matter how bad the situation is..big up..True Christians..
There's always a positive way to see things!
I pray to God he speaks to y'all about making SA your permanent residency🤞🤞ya'll are true ambassadors of S.A, much love fam❤
Oh wow, thank you so much and hey its a beautiful place indeed!
Living outside of SA, in Canada, for three years has given me a new perspective and appreciation for South Africa. It's great to see that your family is thriving. You guys need to try the Garden Route. You can thank me later. Joburg and Cape Town are nice. The Garden Route is always overlooked, but that's where my family and I are returning to. George also has the city vibe, but without the traffic. Schools are excellent. The weather is great, and it is safer. Also an economic hub.
You also need to try the West Coast area.
Ok ok ok, thank you for these suggestions! The Garden Route it is!
I think the garden route is for a laid back/retirement kind of vibe, this is still a young couple 😂. The scenery is breath taking thou👍
@@Svig The old folk retireing in the Garden Route have good taste 😉 But it's not a retirement vibe. Soft life yes. Much more of a family friendly hustle. Let them decide for themselves. They might not want to return to Jozi.
@@henrygordon6808Yes I agree, they should give it a try. But the mother is too sold into big mall lifestyle.
Yeah that’s proper Europe!
I'm a South African. NOOOO, the Mc Donalds experience of selling left overs is not a norm. I am actually disgusted hearing it.
A whole 40°C for your day and 37°C on average- now that stresses me out because 32°C is enough for us to question God's love and intention for us,like why why why are we in hell 😂🤣🙆🏽♂️.Bless you fam 🇿🇦.
hahahaahaha Bless you too
You should have reported the MacDonalds to the head office. It is totally not allowed to put food back and expect others to eat it. It’s gross and disgusting and definitely not acceptable.
One third of all food produced goes to food waste, it really becomes a taboo to throw away food. In restaurants Managers are called in to ensure a control of food complaints. Never be shy to call in the Manager.
The culture in SA is centred around Ubuntu. People and human interaction is more important. That is why in the states you have people who walk into schools and shoot people, there is no sense of consciousness towards the human condition. How the human being is feeling and what they are going through. Ubuntu is very much similar to the principles that Christ embodied much more than the individualistic, Eurocentric culture found in Western countries.
So very true! We love that we get to experience it daily!
That macdonalds you took back the incorrect food to had to be reported. There are cctv camera's as well...what they did was not right
Great info! Thanks! Thanks for adding the "members only" videos on your channel. The content is worth much more than the membership cost!
Youre most welcome and yes indeed, it there are things you need to know theres a place for you
I'm jealous 😔
I LOVE YOU GUYS! It’s my heart’s desire to move to SA. Praying Gods protection and provision over your family. I am grateful for the journey you all are sharing with us African Americans who are thinking about returning home ❤ God bless you 🙏🏾
Thank you so much! We receive your prayers and look forward to the day we can welcome you home!
In SA we also call it soccer, like the Americans
That's why we call it The Mall...THEM ALL😅....its not the mall unless they are all there. great video folks....love the content
Hi the citizen of S.A. I am so delighted and happy that each African American who come to S.A is swallowed by the Mother land.
No AA I saw here are all not satisfied with the conditions. All of them wanna live forever here which shows that it is a beautiful country. Thank you the Jones family.
Thank you so much. We feel the love for sure
Wow you guy's looking fresh healthy and clean.. the roots be speaking for it self ❤️🙏🏾😊
It’s a beautiful thing for sure
With regards to returning stuff you're allowed to return stuff as long as you have the receipt still.
More especially with larger stores like your Clicks, Dischem, Woolies, Edgars, Pick n Pay clothing, Game, Makro, Mr Price, Pep, Jet etc...
You can buy something from one province and return it in a store at a different province as long as you have your receipt still. The stores are all connected. Just like our banks 😌
I’m a South African, I’m surprised about the resturants reviews in SA, I’m not sure which restaurants u go to….my experience is different.
For McDonalds I’m also shocked cos they r big on hygiene, handling food, and they r quick to correct their mistakes.
listening to yall gives me so much positivity for my country - you are more than welcome - just bring some of those great musos along to the motherland
Hey my lovely family❤❤❤❤❤❤Much love guys and peace❤❤❤
Hello to you family much love, blessings and peace to you too
I love you and your family. My thoughts have been centered towards the home land, too many bob-wires just like here, but I am willing to explore. My heart yearns for a home place.
I just love how your commentary about culture shocks is honest with a bit of positive and negative balance. We get a glimpse into how things are in the States and we are equally shocked as you are shocked with what you are experiencing in SA. Most Americans focus on the negative side only of Africa in general. One thing I will always be shocked about USA is why people still mail cheques in 2024 and why Football ⚽⚽⚽⚽ is not a Cult in USA like the rest of the world...JUST FOUND YOUR CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBED. GREAT CONTENT!

Hello! It's common too!
Thanks Jones family for this content😊
Coming to music we have Soul and R&B sessions, and Jazz clubs - that mostly play American music. I actually consider myself an expert on the American version of Jazz.
hahahaha and I can believe that! It's played quite a bit while out and about
We have a sugar tax in SA. It's cheaper to be healthy.
Wow! Really? That's amazing
House help is not that expensive and we also see it as Job creation… personally I felt like dying when both my helpers were on leave in December
Great content. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Are we not going to talk about the McDonalds?! 😭 knowing you live in my area makes me want to avoid every McDonalds around here 🤢 they need to be reported
Beautiful content!
Yes we are People of the South i remember back in the day there was a program on Tv called PEOPLE OF THE SOUTH and we are very glade you are part of the South.
I feel like yall should have spoken up about that Mc Donalds in time because that is so disgusting
hahaha, we didn't know if that was the norm so we just kept it moving while taking note
Great informative video, I always learn something new et I watch your channel...my Sis is in Ghana headed to SA soon, she also said the same thing when trying to return a meal ...it was difficult so she kept the over salty food, and the wait time at the restaurant took over 1 hour
Right right, it's a process but hopefully it worked out for her!
Mrs Jones looking beautiful as usual 🥰🥰😍
Thank you to the Jones family for their objective and unique opinions of my beautiful country and it's diverse people. I'm South African from Johannesburg originally and agree with everything on this channel. I only went to Atlanta through my connecting flight before flying to LAX so I at least interacted with some native Georgian(if that's a word) people at the airport. I lived in Los Angeles and Oakland for some time and noticed that SA actually has some advantages over the USA in certain spheres of society. I was welcomed in the USA and tried to teach African-Americans some basic SA words to connect to their roots from the "motherland" as they like saying over there. This channel is a bridge to our brothers and sisters across the Atlantic and gives real insight from real experiences so well done to these great Americans making a difference on both continents and giving their truth about what SA is actually about for those who were indoctrinated by the UNICEF ads I used to see on American terrestrial TV.
You can tell by y'all smiles that yall like it better there 💪🏽💪🏽👍👍
As we continue to smile reading this comment!
I didn't know that there were power cuts in some parts of USA, returning things is work here there are times I dread to return things because of what I will go through😢😢 with music we are all over😂😂
There actually are and as they mentioned, it's not said a lot and on international platforms. You have to follow the news or know about some local stuff to know about it. The US is good in keeping vulnerable issues a local as possible unless it's something which the world will pick, they don't put it in international public
facts!
hahahahahahahaha Right
Yes, returning an item here is a nightmare 😫 I always make sure that I buy a correct item in the first place to avoid the returning process.
How so unless you return ko Marabi or chinese shops
I don’t think they want to resell returned food to somebody else , it’s just the policy to keep evidence or records on all transactions but reselling it NO , I think you are wrong .
Have you ever toured Crawford International? We have 3 children under 8 and we'll be visiting on October and plan to tour schools. We love your channel but the way! My husband is from Augusta, GA too lol! We find that very few people leave Augusta unless they're in the military so it's cool to watch a young, God fearing family on their adventurous abroad. We travel all over the states and homeschool but it's time to try a new continent❤
I loved this video, thank you Family for the highlights. The returning of goods is a serious problem for us locals too. The people who work at the shops act like you are doing something wrong when returning ANYTHING. When I get that type of disservice I report it to the head office. Hopefully they will learn and improve.
Yes, some fruits are only available at certain times only. For example, avocados are in season from April to July, after that they dont take good and are expensive.
We live in Joburg and I am from the rural Eastern Cape and we are in the EC my wife’s allergies go away.
Oh nice see you already know what it is!!!
It’s the jacarandas/ too many male trees in city areas. Hence high pollen as opposed to rural areas with mixed tree types.
wellcme home guyz am so happy for u
Proud South African here ❤
As you should be!
South Africans are quite a bunch of music connoisseurs. Amapiano is but one sub genre of pop music. There is “kwaito”; “Gqom”; “Barcadi”; “Mbacanga”; “Jazz”; “Gospel”; “Afro-pop” etc… and there’s embracement of international music - American music (soul, R&B, Neo-Soul, Hip-Hop, Jazz, House music, Trap, Blues, Jazz etc.) as well as British and some Canadian music…
Our lifestyle is grounded on the concept of “ubuthu”.
Long time ago they used to pump gas for you in the U.S.
Also, if you folks ever visit Illinois in the states, the weather can change randomly like you described.
"If you're in the States and hoping to make a move here....OR if you're here and what's it like to live in the States.....*crickets* 👀". The Jones Family's attempts to emigrate all African Americans to come to South Africa and dissauding South Africans from leaving😂😂😂
I can only imagine what we could achieve because African Americans who've moved here and I follow are adding to the growth and wealth of this country. I'm in love🤎🤎
How's the kiddies sisi❤
They are magnificently well!
I was shocked to see my clicks receipt it said 12 months to return stuff(certain stuff) when your bored waiting for a friend or something read the back of the receipt I think minimum is 3 months and max is 12
❤❤❤
Oh come on! Just when I was starting to enjoy the conversation, you mention that you gonna support Orlando Pirates 😡. Sundowns is the team to support 😀. On another point having help in the house is very common in South Africa. Whether you live in Soweto or Sandton. Having help is the most common thing here.
hahahahahaha, that's funny hey I'm still open! No allegiances just yet! and ok ok ok nice to know!
We were taught not to waste food. So returning food would almost be seen as waste. Yes you do have the right to exchange it but its just that thing of waste. I've seen videos of how people in America waste alot of food especially retail throwing away an enormous amount of food instead of donating it
South Africa is a lot more like Europe than USA…(eg: healthy food, driving, healthy “exercise”lifestyle and party culture, legal drinking age, sports, free healthcare etc) so if you want to understand SA, try understand Europe first. The only similarities to USA is the geography/topography..anyway that’s my opinion
So true.
Yeah we are more Eurocentric, at the fraction of the cost 🙏🏽!
SA's weather is the best, except the humid Durban. Returning food at a restaurant should never have been an issue. It will depend on the restaurant. I was hoping u would choose the Kaizer Chiefs Football Club as your soccer team of choice to support.
hahahahaha I've been persuaded to be a Pirates Fan!
Kaizer?worst choice
❤️❤️❤️❤️
All love
The president of Uganda says that he takes his own pineapples etc. when he goes to the US because the hotel brought him something that they called pineapple.
Our medical care is cheaper because the doctors aren’t over-specialised, plus they are able to diagnose illnesses without ordering a whole bunch of tests. There is also more regulation here, and the government subsidise some medications to enable poorer people to afford medication. Having insurance means less people at the public hospitals, so you get to claim back any cash payments you make over and above your monthly contributions.
Mrs Jones look like our homegirl, are you sure you are not from KZN Durban ?
Cuz got them guns 💪
Visited Capetown and could retire there. How did u find work? I live in Atlanta. Went to the mall and saw a Atlanta & TLC shirt. 😅
Sugar is regulated in SA that's why it's so expensive
We now have 12th deaf language which was introduced in 2023
Still waiting for a review video about Cape Town
Good points! Especially the benefit of cleaner air and less allergies.
Unfortunately, landscapers complained about having to clean up all the fruit that fell from the trees. Their solution was to plant all male trees. No more fruit trees just increased pollen. 😩
Oh wow that’s an interesting conclusion
@@THEJONESFAMILYCHANNEL yep! Even city planners in the US plant male trees. If you look up botanical sexism you’ll see.

Air quality control is legally regulated by department of environmental affairs, when a company pollutes the air above the regulatory limits the executives of that company gets either a fine or jail time and Johannesburg is the the worst in South Africa with air quality 😢
Mpumalanga has the worst air quality, The air quality in Johannesburg is just fine
@@roblucci2366Johannesburg is the worst

I noticed a real decline in my chronic back pain after 6 weeks in Capetown. No idea why.
Oh wow, see something else to share and promote!
Apparently it's in the soil and the air. Most people have reported conceptions after years and years of futile trying in different continents.
Not even Elon Musk can buy high vibrations essential for human spirit ascension. No billionaire can buy proper air quality. I dont think you guys realize the significance of those two points alone. Like seriously. It superceeds all. Even deserves its own video.
Depending on the store not all .and place.
You must come to the Soweto derby
Yup, Ubuntu got us here, because of that they took everything from us... Even took us. 😂😂😂
About the hight temperatures in the US, they must be caused by pollution domes since you're touching on air quality... urban heat islands.
Other than that, happy to hear you're having a great time.
Food:
They are likely unaware that he ate it .. usually if the order is incorrect we return without touching it.... That was wild though, I'd stop eating at that McDonald's. 😮
I think they take time in the resturants here because they are cooking real a little bit of patience is needed and you'll be satisfied at the end with real thing.
Ahhh that’s what it is.
We don't waste food like that here. In the States they might throw it away because it is not even real food.
You chose the best team (Orlando Pirates)

Agreed. You don't have to be ultra rich to have a helper. Maybe largely because the labour is not expensive.

The first time I had powdered eggs in my life was in the United States. This was at a top-notch developer conference, if you were to give people powdered eggs here at such an event, most people won't eat them. Seems like they reserve the best food for the elite and wealthy classes. I noticed that nice clean food that I am used to is incredibly expensive over there.
