    Awesome work, my friend!
    Hang on to the LEDs you cut off! They can still be used! Send me a close-up picture of them when you get a chance and I can do a video on what you can do with them if they are the kind I think they are. Captain's quarters lighting comes to mind.

      I actually gave all of the leftover lights to the museum in case there were any lighting issues once the house was installed. I am sure I will buy them again sometime though!

    THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have a dollhouse that is almost finished and is without lights. I will now be using your video to help me light up all of the rooms/floors in my house. As always, a great tutorial with such detail. I especially loved the colored diagram outlining the layout of lights. Including that detail really helps visualize the process. I'm sure everyone who visits the museum will love your work the way all of your followers do. Thanks again!

    Jaw-drop, Ara! I never imagined that kind of lighting would be so useful for mini-worlds! They light up the interior so well, and that was a spot-on job of figuring out how to conceal everything as well as constructing and getting it to all fit/match up.
    So happy for you, and so very proud of you, too, for having this marvelous creation being displayed! I just know that it'll enspire so many, and plant the seed of mini-making in many a heart... before we know it, the kids who see this will be growing up, posting their own videos, and saying, "Well, it all started when I visited the museum & saw this amazing display of the Adam's Family House. I stared in awe at every tiny detail, and... my love for mini's was born."
    I still vividly recall the first time I encountered a decorated/detailed and amazing dollhouse on display. The details of the house are fuzzy, but the feeling lives on... and it's all thanks to someone, like yourself, who took a chance and decided to share their love of minis with others.

    What a great way to light the house without having to disturb the inside of it.In fact I think it gives it a bit more of a creepy look.I am sure it’s going to be a star house there.I can imagine your really excited about this aren’t you ..It looks fabulous ,with such a little amount of change ..Love n Light 🥰

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Christine! I think the creepiness comes from it being up-lit. If I wanted it a bit less creepy I might try adding the lights at the top of the room for more 'normal' lighting. So glad you liked it!

      @@cherylwells9116 We actually have them running along the top of our kitchen cabinets. We have some plants and a few decorative plates up on top of the cabinets to break up the boring empty space up there. Not only do the lights illuminate the plants and decorations, but it’s very pretty soft mood lighting for the kitchen. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are all one big, open room. The lighting changed the kitchen into a decorative part of the house, rather than a boring kitchen over on the side.

    • @cherylwells9116

      @@CrankyPantss Hi, never thought of putting them along the top as well. My cupboards go too high up to put plants and things like that, so I have like a 10cm gap going all around. Just wondering if it would be too much with lights at the top and underneath, but I'll sure give it a go❤️

    This turned out so great, Ara. I've been trying to think of a way to light up my craft room, because it's just sad right now. One very dim overhead light, and I think this will work great. Thank you!!

    This is the basic system we use to light houses at the dollhouse museum where I work part time. The kit you found seems to be easier as we have an electrician who cuts and solders the light strips. i have been putting off lighting my personal houses in this manner, but I think I can better deal with system and will definitely give it a try.

    Very nice job. FYI you can buy snap on connectors for lights like those so that you can cut them like you did but then connect another piece. The also have small "T" and corner snap on connectors to turn and go around corners and such. These would make the issue of the length of the strings less tedious. But again great job with working with what you had!

I have two old "Dad-built" houses (other dads, not mine) that need lighting and this gives me hope that I won't be destroying the integrity of the antique feel of the houses. This video came into my feed at the perfect time. I'm putting together a Barndominium dollhouse kit and want an alternative lighting set-up as I'm using battery operated lights. This solution is perfect! I also greatly appreciate your tips on reducing hand pain. I'm experiencing a lot of pain in my fingers as I age, so every little tip helps. I wired one house once and it worked perfect...for a few years. I'll never wire a house again. I am not ripping out wallpaper to find the problem, so may use this brilliant idea to address that house.

    Ara, for the Downspout it would be easier and would block the light from escaping, to FULLY use both parts of the cord cover and just cut the openings where needed. That would obviate the need for the electrical tape except where you need to hide the connectors.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So true! I did that on part of the downspout and you are right it worked well. The part that had the 3 chords in it need the extra open space for the wires to fit. So it can definitely depend on how many wires you are fitting into the space.

    I love this lighting idea. It reminds me of old-fashioned stage lighting at the front edge of a stage floor. It makes the entire house look like a lovely stage set. I used to use milk crates to create “stage sets” for my toys as a little boy.

    Thank you so much for this video. I just came across it from the Veranda website and can't wait to see all of your blogs. My dollhouse is 30 years old and very similar to yours without the Adams family theme. It is wired with copper strips, however some of the connections have come apart and so half of the lighting doesn't work and would be a monumental task to redo them. Also these small lights are not really enough to see the details in the rooms. Your lighting techniques has answered my problem and has given me new interest in my dollhouse. Now my problem is, as a very senior person, "what to do with my house when I move to a smaller senior apt. None of my children are interested in it. Thank you again.
