Awood is a legend. These highlights are great. Also, I really like that Husso, despite being chased, looks genuinely happy that Cossa got his first win.
The first 40 minutes of this game reinforced how badly LaLonde needs to go. The third period and extra time showed the potential we still have to salvage the season. This team can still do great things and we still have a long way to go. What an awesome game and thankfully Cossa stood tall! Lets see him play more and let Cossa earn a spot on the roster. I am thankful we finally remembered how to win a game! Keep the momentum and don't let the foot off the gas! #LGRW
Bottom line is why would you tank after being on the doorstep of playing for the Stanley Cup last season? Kane and Tarasenko have been ghosts since opening night, Copp and Compher aren’t doing it either, and the rest of the core’s been miss more than hit. We don’t have a coach that changes these guy’s attitudes. They keep making excuses when they should hate losing. And Yzerman should’ve kept his first mind and fired Lalonde since the Wings failed making the playoffs and got Craig Berube. Special teams are ass, defense is COMPLETELY discombobulated as you see in this game, and goaltending is again unreliable. Still happy for Cossa, but he’s still not NHL ready yet. And he’s gonna need a defense in front that’ll support when he is ready. We need change.
But look how they won? Why does Awood only show wins, even bad wins. Detroit needs a coach, not a nice guy. Newsy is way over his head at this level. This team must play more cohesive hockey. Work on set plays and setups. There is too much talent to play like this. "IMHO of course!"
@@MGSDude01 Who knows how ready Cossa is? He didn't get more than 15 minutes to prepare for his first NHL start. Maybe a baptism by fire sets something ablaze inside him that turns him into the next King Hank. Are we really not past turning our noses up at something like that at this point?
I loved Mo Seider led by example, he was critical of team and then showed up in a big way tonight. That’s leadership by example and shoutout to Cossa for the first win. He should’ve started the game!
Appreciate that replay at 5:00 Awood. Talk about a crowd calling a penalty! Ref made absolutely no move to raise his arm to call that. The crowd called for it….then he just blew the whistle.
i’ve been so big on cossa since we drafted him and to see him get the W in his first outing makes my heart warm and hopeful for the future of this team
Kasper and Cossa hugging gives me fuzzy feelings The Wings style of play really is inhibiting Seider. Once the game got out of hand, Seider was playing different. Not afraid to go in for a big hit, no hesitating on making offensive plays. Chiarot was kind of an unsung hero in this game after he's been disappointing this season The only downside to this win is that Lalonde is going to think Copp, Compher and Tarasenko is a good idea. It worked for one game, I doubt it works again.
I'll say this as a Red Wings fan and someone who referees hockey games: we got away with a ton of no-calls tonight. We were darn fortunate and if I was a Buffalo fan, I'd be saying the NHL refs this season have been awful. And I wouldn't blame them for saying that. Still glad we got the good end of that but we can't rely on that to carry us to wins. Now on to the next game. LGRW
Excellent. stuff. Hope Cossa is excellent and proves it to Detroit's satisfaction ... that way, the Wings will be content to let Augustine stay at MSU for all four years. LOL, fingers are crossed for that, anyway.
Hopefully it won't be a long year & we win some games for uploads. I wanted to see a 10+minute Flyer win but instead here I am the average Wings fan depressed as f*** were under performing.
Still much improvement needed, and more plays from Cossa to determine his play. Hossa wasn't too bad in the last few games, but he couldn't save a beach ball, must be the 35 jersey number curse. Fix up the D in some trades and move some players for an offensive player. I do not think Yzerman will fire Lalonde, but he will not return after this season.
Copp is a 3rd line center that had an outlier career yr after going to NYR and Stevie thought he could be a 2C and paid him as such. Pretty much the same story with Compher, although he’s arguably a borderline 2/3C.

Pretty much the same story with Compher, although he’s arguably a borderline 2/3C. Rasmussen has been a bust. Very frustrating player as he’s had so much opportunity and his effort seems lackluster. If he can’t be that high end center Wings drafted him to be, fine, but use your size and play tough. But he won’t. No power forwards. Top 6 wingers all soft skill. Only 1 top 2 center (Kasper is the only hope to fix that). Bad drafting, even worse pro scouting (both of which Wings used to be the envy of the league for). As a lifelong Yzerman fan for decades, he started out as the GM here making a lot of good moves, but went downhill quick.
Hate on the coach all you like. Yzerman's changes to the roster didn't make the wings a better team. They've regressed. The season's a bust. Bring in more of the kids. Time to get back into the lottery.
not all the kids are ready. maybe Mazur when he's healthy and Danielson, and that's it. Cossa could still use the rest of the time in GR when the other goalies get healthy. there's plenty to be excited about with the kids though.
@josephc.9142 not with Yzerman/Lalonde at the helm there is nothing to be excited about. The product you see will never change with yzerman/lalonde in control of things.
Blame whoever you want dude. Yzerman isn't going anywhere; nor should he. He's been here for 5 years. What he had to clean up should have taken him 7-8 years just to get to this point. Bring up all the moot points you want, he's not perfect but he's doing a good job. Maybe wait another 3 years before he'll actually be on the chopping block if this team doesnt improve. The only thing that matters is if his draft picks hit. And they have been at a decent rate.
@@thenickfoxx trades and signings matter too. Are you happy watching holl and petry pass to the other team? Where are walman maata hronek and ghostisbhere? Stevie is losing me there.

I love Moritz Seider
Mee too
il buyin dat mans jersey TODAY‼️‼️‼️
And he’s only getting better 💪
i think last night may have been his best game yet for us
Seider was on fire tonight
Awood is a legend. These highlights are great. Also, I really like that Husso, despite being chased, looks genuinely happy that Cossa got his first win.
Toledo Walleye fan here. We got to enjoy Cosa a few times and we wish him nothing but the best in the D.
I always get a kick out of the way your crowd cheers for wendy's chili.
Seider, Raymond and Larkin are the consistent bright spots of this organization. And man hopefully this is a sign of things to come from Cossa.

how does coaching only get credit for the losing portion of the game? same guy was behind the bench when we won.
How does any NHL coach pull off consistent wins with a roster like this?

Thanks Awood! I was beginning to think I'd never see another Awood highlight this season....Thats 2 points. Lets keep it going! LGRW!
Nice of the Wings to give him a little vacation.
Mo is reincarnation of Kronwall
YOU'VE GOT SEIDERED
Well, he should be. Would love to see mo-Mo Seider!
I wouldn't compare Kronwall to Sieder, Kronwall wasn't half the player Sieder is.
15 and 13 with a +14 by this time last season. 11 and 17 so far this season, including a 5 game skid, with a -15. Something needs to give.

Way to go boys👍Happy for Cossa win 1st game👍
don't forget to like the video!! and part 1 too!
This team can't even get a coach fired correctly.
Awood you gotta make a montage of 1 goal games for the wings this has been going on for years
Great highlights. Seems like it's been a while...
Cossa jersey incoming 🎉d

Mo showed the F up this game. Some huge freakin hits and a huge goal!
Mo "Mow Everyone Down" Seider
I love games like this. Good job boys LGRW
Hi Cossa! Congrats on the W!
I’m hoping to see Mo score 20 at some point
Probably won't with this style of hockey. Seider should be used more like Hedman, down in Tampa. Seider has a big big shot, use it, for God's sake.
@ hedman has a 17 goal season and a 20 goal season. Delete your comment.
The wings needed this one. I just want to see like a 5-1 win for a change instead of all these close ones.
glad i got to see Cossa in grand rapids before he got sent up lol
Yeah .. I’ve stood behind him til this season . Need a coaching change for sure . Fester ain’t it .
Easy target, that ignores how flawed this roster is.
@ I never said the roster isn’t flawed .. if you don’t see that it is you’re blind lol .. but he’s still not it either way

When was the last time Copp got 2 in a game? Maybe he's finally finding some puck luck.

Except he did nothing for his goals. It was 100% served on a platter for him tonight. Still a bum.
He actually had a good October. He's just cooled off since then unfortunately.
Rebuild the rebuild. Fire Lalonde.
I'll take every last one of our prospects over your pettiness.
