Nice! Just the thing for replacing ties when there's not a lot of them. Don't need a whole crew either. Since it's a High-Railer setup you can get to the site either by rail or road, handle the job and be off the rails before the next Amtrak or container hotshot comes thru.

Many thank's for the upload. I have seen this before where trucks and machines can run on Rails and the Pavement or Rough ground, it has to save so much time and fuel and be the way to go especially if you own the machine personally driving it.
    Thanks again.
    Take care.

How do you ensure proper compaction under the new rail?

+badlandskid You can equip it with a compactor tool. :)

Alexander Källberg Ah cool. Thanks for the answer. How does the compactor tool work? Is it just mechanical tamping or does it use a vibrating action?

+badlandskid We don't worry about one tie getting surface. Just get it as good as you can or with a hand tamper. You can tamp ties pretty well with a backhoe alone. Concrete ties are also *supposed* to be surfaced every 6 months.

badlandskid Sorry for the late answer, it's both mechanical and vibration.

I assume this is just for the odd one or two broken beams, because it is pretty slow?
