Loyal to the Crown (ie the British Monarch) while they maintain the protestant ascendancy of the throne

What does the Rev mean by Protestant religion .Does he mean any Christian other than Roman Catholic. There is no such thing as the Protestant or Catholic Religion ,They are all denominations of the Christian Religion. The so called Protestant religion in Northern Ireland swears loyalty to the English Monarch yet over 70% of them could never be the Monarch if they had the blood .Only Members of the Anglican Communion can become the Monarch.Don't forget that it was Presbyterians who founded the United Irishmen.

Well said. Faith doesn’t need flags and marches. There is a Christian Faith but a Protestant tradition within that faith but it is not the only tradition.

Any Christian other than Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox could be considered Protestant. Any denomination that spawned as result of the reformation basically and that doesn't recognise the pope

A Christian should be loyal to God neither to a Monarch or a Pope
As a Protestant if I worshipped the monarch how could I denounce Catholics who regarded the Pope as a deity?

@@onit_ayrshire I recall speaking to a Sir Knight at an Imperial Grand Black Lecturers' Conference and he told me the same.In Scotland there is no Purple Degree from what I've been told.Different duristictions vary.Ireland is the only Grand Orange Lodge that does not have the Royal Arch Purple as one of their degrees.Instead here in Ireland the Royal Arch Purple Degree is governed by the Grand Royal Arch Purple Chapter Of Ireland with every Private, District and County meeting in Chapters with the same number as their Orange Lodge on their Chapter warrant. This can be a little confusing even for Orange/Royal Arch Purple men.I am a Orange,Royal Arch Purple and Royal Black Lecturer. There are degrees in some of the Orange duristictions worldwide that aren't part of the Orange in Ireland e.g the Scarlet degree in the Orange institution of Canada/USA.

@@adrianbradley8513 Hi. I’m doing research for a novel based on the different loyalist orders. Can you recommend any good reading material? It’s in reference to the Orange Riots in New York 1871. Also, I’ll be going to Northern Ireland soon and wondered what would be the best places to go to find out about the Royal Arch Purple and Royal Black? Anything will be appreciated.

@@krishnamurtiism Hi Terrance. A couple of books I would recommend although I'm not too sure about their availability or if they are still in print are the Faithful Tribe by Ruth Dudley Edwards and History Of The Royal Arch Purple Order by the Grand Royal Arch Purple Chapter Of Ireland themselves. Also when you are over here in Northern Ireland visit Schomberg House which is the headquarters of The Grand Orange Lodge and their website. Also the Black opened a new headquarters last April in Loughgall Co Armagh although it isn't opened to the general public as I write. Also visit the city of Londonderry and it's Siege Museum run by The Apprentice Boys Of Derry. The Royal Arch Purple does not have a headquarters.I would also HIGHLY recommend that you visit Dan Winter's Cottage just outside Loughgall where the Orange Order was formed after the Battle Of The Diamond. All these museums have excellent examples of historical items relating to the loyal orders including regalia, banners and lodge memorabilia. Schomberg House in particular has memorabilia relating to all the of Loyal Orders as well as other Fraternal Orders eg Freemasons,Order Of Shepard's etc. All these museums are opened to EVERYONE. Also keep an eye out for Orange Halls which are generally Masonic like in appearance and usually have a Union Jack🇬🇧 flying from them. Please be wary about asking for directions to them because of the political situation over here. I hope this information will be useful to you. All the best with your novel.

@@adrianbradley8513 Wow, that’s great Bradley. You’ve given me a wealth of information. I’m flying to Belfast from Gatwick at beginning of October, and am looking forward to it as I’ve never been to Northern Ireland before. I’ll definitely look up the Apprentice Boys of Derry as I want to spend a few days in Londonderry researching the siege. So much history there. The rest will be spent in Belfast, probably drinking and in the library. Thanks for everything. I’ll let you know how the book 📕 comes along.

From an inner city Birmingham point of view. It all seems a little archaic. The job titles of the leaders, are straight out of Harry Potter, but usually minus the charm.
If all 3 branches of this movement could just be a little more kind to the catholics I am sure everyone would get on so much better!
