Americans love French accent so don’t worry it might be even a value lol. I always had a respect for that too. As long as you speak correctly the English it is not a prob. Regarding the professional environment it is not a bad thing at all. It depends what market you are working on. I’m in a cybersecurity company and they value my french to work on the French Canadian market. They are struggling so much to find French that are bilingual. So you can be happy there is a huge demands for French who are willing to fulfill an international carrier. Hope this answer helped you a bit. Où habites-tu?

Hi Milly, Not at all, some of the top paid in tech sales are around that age. I think it’s due to the corporate level companies having more trust in their decision from them. I know a guy in tech sales that’s 39, he made over 500k on his W2 last year.

Thank you bro! I didn’t get to do it everyday, but when I was, I was extremely focused on that. I would say lol 2-4 hours. I was focused on finishing 1 or more modules when I got online
Is your company OTE goals realistic? My fear is having a low base with a high OTE my bills have to be paid regardless of whether I hit my numbers or not!
I hear you on that bro. Bills come every month regardless. Mine is, but also remember every company is different. So you can definitely find what you need. Go to LinkedIn->Jobs -> ‘Sales Development Representative-> and go through the jobs. A lot of them have the base salary and OTE numbers and you can see what’s out there right now.
Obviously this is super subjective and you can only answer on your experience but do you have any idea how often you’re expected to make a sale? Generally speaking commission can be a big part of your living / lifestyle for this career so just something I’m interested in.
You have a base salary plus your commission. As a SDR you are not selling yet, you are setting meetings. Your quota is whatever the company sets as far as calls and meetings set and that’s what you’re looking to hit. Your company wants you to be successful so they will work to get you where you need to be.

for sure bro! And it depends on who you’re working with. But for most companies they care about the results on the sales team. What I’m seeing, is anything is flexible/negotiable if you’re hitting your numbers. But you can definitely stay later or start earlier to close something.
