The lifespan will vary from user to user, the battery/motor will not perform at it’s optimum in extremes of temperature. The batteries normally have a warranty of 2 years or 500 charge cycles, some can last a lot longer than the 2 year guarantee.
Interesting configuration. On the bike you have there the crankset is different to that shown on the Decathlon page you link to. Your sample seems to have a captive chain but the stock photo looks to have a narrow wide chainring but no chainring guard. Also for the capacity the battery is huge on the frame but I guess that is because all the controller electronics are in the same enclosure. Will that mean you can't replace the battery pack easily or is the battery pack a sort of module that comes out from that enclosure? Would you have to get a specialist to recell the battery when perhaps you have gone through 700 charges and the capacity is very low. Also the 32T front chainring looks to be close to the chainstay I assume you couldn't upgrade that for higher gearing for road use. It definitely looks to be configured for off-road use although strange that the front wheel only has 28 spokes especially with the Suntour XCT forks which are a little light duty. Why drop to 28 spokes. Most ebikes like this would be 32 spokes at the front some are even 36. I just wonder if this is more mountain bike style than actual mountain bike. Does seem like a nice ebike though and at under a grand seems very good value. I guess my two complaints would be the low gearing and slightly light duty components in places. It's nice to see the derailleur correctly angled when in the largest cog at the rear so provides decent chain tension. I think that is text book correct for chain length although I suppose the only advantage of brands that provide a slightly slacker chain is sometimes you can make a small upgrade in the cassette without having to replace the chain. Like 11-36T replacing a 11-34T cassette.
The bike in the video is generation 3 of the est 100, that's why it has a different chain ring. I had a generation 2 and it developed a error and it was replaced by decathlon with the generation 3, the generation 3 is very similar but more refined. It is low geared but with wide tyres it's not ment for a high top speed, it very good at increasing your average speed. I can get 40kmh top speed and that's hard work but can keep around 30kmph easily. For off road it's not the best specification but I haven't struggled and it's overcome every thing I've thrown at it without any problems or difficulties, it's surprising how good it is off road. Remember it's a entry level electric mountain bike not top end. For the money it's awesome, good package with a 2 year warranty that decathlon take seriously unlike other places that sell bikes.
Thanks, 250w max assistance and 15.5mph uphill while pedalling gently, yes, it can go uphill with enough power. If you want more torque then maybe look at the EST500 and above.
@@TheDecathlonMan Thanks for your reply. I already have the est520 which I love. But I need an extra bike and was wondering if this one will make it up on the hill
Please note - under current UK law bikes fitted with Thumb Throttles are illegal to use on public land, these are only to be used on private land, this is not a service we provide, but another ebike shop may be able to do this for you, if it is to be used on private land.
Around 30 miles in mode 1, this of course will depend on the rider and temperature. Mileage will vary from user to user, if you pedal faster than the motor cut off at around 16 mph then the battery will last longer. If you ride in warmer weather, the battery will give more range than in cold weather.
Hello mate if you alreuad have a t100 normal bike can i convert it to a bafang 250w mid drive kit please unsure how big bottom bracket is also is it 68mm thanks
I would advise against using any non ebike frame with an electric kit. I don’t why you couldn’t though. Warranty will be void on the frame and parts and our workshops will not work on them. All of our square taper BB’s are 68mm.
@@TheDecathlonMan that's cool mate thankyou very much I realise warranty would be void as it would be modified etc if I did do that that's cool mate cheers man and any particular reason you would advise against if you can buy the same bike just with a different electric set up on it mate cheers 🙏💚👊
You are welcome, The issue I would have is that the QC on Bafang has been hit and miss, you run the very real risk of an electrical fire. Our E ST100 has also been designed to take into account the extra stresses and wear that will occur with electrical assistance. If you don’t mind working on the bike yourself, we can’t stop you, but I know most shops will not touch the outcome with a 10ft barge pole. 👍🏻
It would get you around 2hrs or around 50km range, bear in mind this can be increased by switching to 0 when you don’t need the assistance. Other external factors will affect the range, weight, wind, temperature, tyre pressure and route (hills)
switch it off and on again, making sure your feet are not on the pedals, if it still has the error, it will likely be a BB sensor fault, book it in to a Decathlon workshop for diagnostics. Check out the support page below too. support.decathlon.co.uk/electric-mountain-bike-rockrider-e-st-100-blue
With the supplied charger, it can either be charged while still on the bike, or the battery can be removed and then charged. The charger should come with 2 pin plug and a UK fused 3 pin adaptor.
Its been 3 month iam using this cycle. I can't ride this cycle without battery feels like riding a mountain so heavy to pedal even i change the gear any one feeling the same comment below😢.
You are due a free 3 month security check in store, get the workshop to check your brakes are not rubbing. As an aside, it weighs around 25kg, downhills are your friend.

Must be the best value ebike considering there aren't much alternative in this price range from decent company and warranty
Would have been helpful to show the mode settings and how to charge ?
where i can buy this chain cover ?
How long would be the lifespan of this ebike? or the battery's lifespan to be specific? I'm thinking of getting this!

How much is a new battery if and when you need a new one?
£249-399 currently but only available to purchase in stores.
Great video. I’m really curious if this bike has enough power to go up a hill?

Buy st100 for 20000 inr and buy a good ebike kit for 15000. So in 35k or 40k you will get better e cycle costing half of e st100.
You do you. Just be aware, any ebike kits fitted will void the warranty.
