    If they want eMTB to flourish, make them affordable first.. it’s not about an arms race of who’s the one that can make the most expensive bike but this is about the community, cheers to these companies that do this..

      I have the "acoustic" version with pedal power and I love it. Same deal though, tires are bad (1st upgrade) and the wheels themselves feel heavy, but my friends have ridden it comparing to their more expensive bikes and they say that the aggressive angles make descents fun. I bought a barely you used 2019 giant trance E pro and got it for half price and the components are what sold me. Giant always goes with high end components and the peddle assist is amazing and climbs hills like a boss and eats up the rock gardens with ease and i can go through yhe trails 2 -3 times faster eith the peddle assist compared to a regular bike. I will never go back. Getting a great workout and getting through the trails with so much more ease. I smile the entire way through my rides. Perfect bike

    I took the time to test Moro07 and it is great bike. I spent a few hours on the bike to realise the difference between a good bike and an affordable.
    Yamaha Moro 07 I’d just streets ahead of the other bike I looked at and for the price I paid it was a no brainer.
    I have taken the bike to bits and lubricated all three moving parts ( out the factory it’s dry) removed all the cables and re routed them, ( the motor harness and speed sensor harness is too long and this was interfering with the dropper post operation.
    I have also changed to run a 29er up front and I honestly say I night and day difference in the ride handling and the speed it carries is incredible. The balance and the weight shift to the back of the bike just makes it feel so agile.
    Down side of this bike ( for me battery size and weight) 500 watts and4.8 kg. For the battery so to carry a second in a back pack is difficult for long days out. I managed to 68 miles on one battery I’m 69kg fully loaded with kit.
    My girlfriend has the same bike as well and uses every day for work and leisure activities at the weekend she has clocked up 750+miles in just a few months and the only maintenance is chain cleaning and lubricants.
    As far as I know they have sold out of the bikes in the uk for a few months but that might’ve changed since but if you are near a Yamaha bike dealer / showroom and you want to get an e-bike get down there and get a test ride on one,

When riding with friends they are usually waiting for me at the top of the hill. That’s where I see the benefits for someone like me. We’re not big fans of ebike hardtails for proper mountain biking. They’re fine for fire roads and dirt tracks, but too cumbersome and uncomfortable on anything more serious. Decathlon actually has a cheaper version of the E-Expl for around £2.5k which looks decent.

      I actually agree with not using a emtb hardtail for anything but fire roads and light trails/dirt tracks.
      Borrrowed a Trek powerfly HT for a week and it was aweful on normal trails, too heavy at the rear end to be able to control over certain terrain, uncomfortable is an understatement!

    • @fredEVOIX
      @fredEVOIX 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      zero reason to ride a hardtail in 2024 1) just get lockable fork and shock and it's perfectly fine, I did 87km 1252m D+ (54miles 4100ft not my record btw) on a fully suspended muscular mtb and I'm 220lbs most of those ascents are 8% to 20% slopes that's Tour de France mountain pass hard lock isn't 100% firm but less than a pinky finger thickness of pumping isn't really noticeable with slow rebound 2) hardtail does not work on emtbs at all you must use different sitting arms body positions as your no1 goal is to push the rear wheel as much as possible against the ground and having a suspended rear is mandatory for that, I rented 2 hardtails the last 3 years and they do not work your rear wheel slips and you end up pushing a very heavy bike up, the only reason they still exist is to cut cost nothing else, find a how to ride emtb tutorial and it'll become clear why hardtail emtb make no sense, I watched one before renting the last fully suspended emtb and did 5813ft 1772m ascent easy most of it in ECO mode actually, it started freezing (2277m 7470ft summit) so I cut short but had 25% battery left because I didn't waste it doing burnouts like on the hardtails

      Yamaha has a ridiculous sale going on right now. They're bikes are like 60% off or more right now. For commuting I would look at the Wabash rt or the crosscore rc. Both are on sell for less than half price and come with an extra battery and extended 5 year warranty. 28mph top speed, hydraulic brakes, great bikes for the money.

    pro tip, absolutely all brands including Specialized go cheap on fork and suspension 1st as going down in range on them HALVES their price, massive savings for bike companies
    it's literally 1200->600->300->150 ->75 so the budget smart thing to do is buy a cheaper bike then upgrade fork and shock later, just check before buying if they don't use weird proprietary fixtures or sizes, that's how my 8 year old 2'500 muscular mtb looks like a 10'000 bike of 2024

      Polygon owns Marin (acquired a couple of years ago), and some of Marin's latest products are built in Polygon's factory. One product I can mention right now is the sisters, Polygon Xquare One and Marin Wolf Ridge. Both have identical looks and specs but came in different colors only (maybe).
